I picked up MegaMan X: Command Missions for the GameCube today 'cause it was on sale. It's somewhat enjoyable, but the main problem is the gay imagery is going on already between X and Zero and I'm not even twenty minutes into the game!
X: (pants heavily) Oh, Zero! You're all right!
Zero: (flashes a smile) Of course I'm all right, X!
(they kiss.)
Okay, the kissing didn't really happen, but it's getting harder and harder to go around the whole shonen ai thing going on there. The real tragedy is that X and Zero have only been separated for about three minutes game time, and have been in constant radio contact the ENTIRE time. Someone's a little co-dependent, eh?
It is starting to detract from the game itself, not because I read tons of X slash fics---just to be clear, I do not read them as a general rule, or at all, really---but because it's just so ludricrous that I can't concentrate and what's actually happening because I'm giggling the whole time.

Oh great. So you're telling me there's now some sort of vague basis for these fics in which Zero and X are gay? Because in the earlier X days, I personally held the belief that it was the most UNFOUNDED PAIRING EVER. RANDOM GAYNESS, WTF! This is a sad day. At least there probably won't be a sudden upswing, as so much X/Zero smut already exists. But it is kinda funny. Or even, hilarious. ...NOW I'M LAUGHING TOO.

Any man that works in close proximity with another man or talks to them too much can be automatically considered gay.
Thank god I am not a man, otherwise I'd probably be the biggest local manwhore evaaar!!1111eleventeen

Oh please, that is so dumb I think. Many people from different games ask thier partners if thier all right, its no big deal.

Don't you get the idea, Legends fans usually don't like X and Zero, because their games suck (The only console MegaMan game to get a higher score than MML2 was Anniversery edition, yet, all low scored X games sold more. THIS IS ACCORDING TO GAMESPOT ) and Legends was really good, but didn't sell. This has turned into a bitterness that is irreversable for most Legends fans, though some do find joy in the X series, most tend to take out their anger on the other series for overshadowing the better Legends series... did that make any sense.
Never the less, they probably are homosexuals, maybe Zero tricked X into thinking he was a girl with the hair and voice acting.

Actually, Feldinaut, I thought the X/Zero pairing made more sense than a lot of ones I've seen, although all of them are quite silly at best. The thing about X and Zero is that it gets even funnier. Nothing is less sensical than homosexual humanoid robots. Also, the whole "Zero destined to kill X" storyline kind of petered out because there's simply too many games to have that actually happen now. So that's all the two Reploids have now, is their sexual tension. Also, I think Campcom had their janitor write the script for Command Mission. The gameplay is pretty good and really makes sense when incorporating all the MMX special attacks and such, but the story is far from just being poorly translated; I can tell it was very badly written to begin with. Any man that works in close proximity with another man or talks to them too much can be automatically considered gay. Thank god I am not a man, otherwise I'd probably be the biggest local manw hore evaaar!!1111eleventeen Uuuahh? That's right. I always have to be careful not to talk to my male co-workers too much, lest I be labeled a flamer. That actually happened to this guy I know. Whoops. I was lying.

I have to admit I thought they *might* have been gay whenever they talked to each other in X games. I basically think now they are just good friends. Just because guys are concerned about each other doesn't make them more than friends. If they were gay, we would have seen robot kissing by now(jk)...or Zero wouldn't have had a girlfriend.
Now look what you guys have done...I'm giggling, too! XD

Are you kidding? Iris was just a cover. Zero is gay, gay, gay. Look at the hair. HE JUST WANTS TO BE PRETTY!
((I actually liked Iris... Not because she was an interesting character or anything, but because random girlfriends with horrible accents just crack me up. Iris, you can pop back up from the dead any old time you want, because the only thing funnier than a random girlfriend is a random zombie robot girlfriend back from the dead to seek revenge on her former lover for brutally slaying her brother AND her.))
I actually think, in a weird and retroactive way, that the the tension between Zero and X has grown as the concept gained popularity. I don't know if that's intentional or not. I'm beginning to wonder if Capcom doesn't follow its own fandoms. I mean... X didn't start being a crybaby pacifist until a few games in, if I recall. And now he's enough of a pansy to be at least TWO gay men. </blatant stereotype>
OMG X/COPY X!

Wow, you totally read my mind, there. I was thinking that maybe Campcom was playing up the Zero/X romance because the yaoi thing's even more popular with Japanese people than with Westerners.
Another thing: For X being the first Reploid ever created, and supposedly the only "perfect" one (although that does not fit with my whole "theory" on the subject), he sure is a big wuss. Not just that he originally couldn't even make it through his FIRST LEVEL (Mario was even laughing at him, there), but he also is always talking about how awful it is to kill people, then does it. Of course, that kind of prompts the whole free will=evil motif shown throughout the X games, X4 being the worst example. Also, it was horrible because X talked with a prepubescent girl's voice. That stuff may fly over the Pacific, but we like out men manly, over here.
Apparently, so do X and Zero, just not in the same way I meant.
Also, about Iris: She was clearly in love with Zero, but you didn't see a whole lot of reciprocation. Zero was too busy dreaming about the sexilicious Dr. Wily to think about her.

Are you kidding? Iris was just a cover. Zero is gay, gay, gay. Look at the hair. HE JUST WANTS TO BE PRETTY! Yes, Zero does want to be a pretty girl..um boy Ok, Iris was a bad way to back up Zero, but someone had to root for the robot who has been labeled gay. Maybe Iris didn't know Zero was a man. I sure didn't know he was a dude until......um...X4. Maybe Iris was the one who thought she was gay until she found out Zero was a guy. Anyway, if they were gay why don't they just say so? It's kinda scary that there's so much points on this. We all care how gay robots are(jk) ;)Maybe if we knew for sure that they were gay I would stop thinking about it, and stop giggling. Ok, I would giggle more...but that's not the point.

It's not really gross. It may be in poor taste, but at least it's better than talking about Tron X Roll girl on girl action.
...oh, wait, no it isn't.

This is hilarious. Not to mention this has been going on since X6. However, in X8, I never noticed it there, in fact, X, Zero, and Axl have possible girlfriends...
