Well... After reading through this entire thread, I wouldn't say this is THE worst game ever, but from what I've played, Zelda II: Adventure of Link pops up in my head. That game is a total disgrace to the Zelda series... It's just plain stupid! Its music is God awful, its gameplay sucks (and isn't at all Zeldaish), it's graphics are horrible, its ending sucks, and some of the things people say and do are just plain retarded... (and of course, no offense to anyone that might think it's good... My brother-in-law likes it. :

OMG!!! You just reminded me Blyka! That is a HORRIBLE game!!! It's way too hard and the RPG elements are done poorly. The saving system is all messed up. Also, the dungeons look like level's from Super Mario Bros. with the blocks and elevator thingies.

I thought Zelda 2 was pretty good, actually. You're right about it not being very Zelda-like, tho. The trick to really playing it well was to level up insanely at the beginning.
It had some good points, but compared to similar-style games of today, obviously there's no comparison, because the programmers were trying to do something new and different, but they really did a better job with the third installment.

God, this thread is almost a year old...but the experience I had today makes it all worth reviving it.
I just played through one of those Rocket Power GBC games this afternoon--took me less than two hours. It was definitely not worth the 15 cents I paid to buy it. The "extreme stunts" were just flips. The animation of Twister riding his bike made it look like the thing was about to tip over at any second. "Riding" (more like jumping on) waves was a chore. And talk about bad endings--you got a picture of Otto, Reggie, Twister, Sam, Ray, and Tito eating a nice lobster dinner, like two lines of text, and not much else.

Goldeneye: Rogue Agent for PS2. Not only was it not like the original Goldeneye (like how I WANTED it to be), it was one of the most repetitive and boring action games I have ever played in my life.

I don't know what I'd call the worst game... but I hate with a passion any games geared toward either young children or little girls. No I'm not saying girls shouldn't play games. I mean the Barbie games and stuff like that. Or -shudders- this Bratz game I'm hearing about. They should call that franchise W h o r e z.
I also tend to dislike a lotta games that are based off movies. True, there are some that are pulled off really well, but there're a lot of ones that just seem to be released because there's a movie, and they really really suck. I dunno, there's plenty of 'em to name but now I can't think of any... weird.

Cosmic Race... Those reviews are hilarious. XD
Want another good one? I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but look up Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Sounds nearly as bad.
As for the worst game I’ve played, it would probably be Pokemon Channel. It was a pathetic follow-up to Hey You, Pikachu which I at least found somewhat entertaining. Gameplay was bad, there was even less plot, and it pretty much revolves around the television, which isn’t very fun. In every situation, it all but tells you exactly what must be done, and all you do is press a few buttons and watch what happens. The graphics were also lackluster, and the minigames they put in don’t add much. I’m sure there are much worst, but this takes the cake in my opinion. After all, it’s a Pokemon game. Sure, the handhelds get repetitive and the recent Coliseum game was rather thin, but this one was just plain bad.

How about Unlimited Saga? That was truly horrible, in every sense of the word. Every single thing was random, including the command that you selected during battle. Also, for some reason, they felt it was a good idea to have the entire game take place on the map screen with no free movement whatsoever.

I'd say Halo, but having played it, I now think it's good, but not the best out there.
I think the worst game ever, (but I'm a hardcore gamer) is Myst. I don't like it because it's point-and-click, and I'm a hardcore gamer, so that's just not the game for me. Who else thinks this.

Darn straight you’re going to get attacked.
Unfortunately, I am no good at attacking, so I’ll just leniently disagree.
I can see how some people don’t enjoy games such as Animal Crossing, but to others, it’s an oil well of brilliant idea, unique styling, and fresh concepts. There are few games that I know of on the market these days like Animal Crossing. I’d assume that it would be the less competitive group that enjoys such games. They have no ultimate goal, and they never end. It’s an open-ended, never-ending adventure game, with some surprisingly deep side-stories if you bother to look hard enough for them. I really think the appeal has to do with discovery. Figuring out how things work, when things happen, cause and effect. In many games, you can uncover things such as side-quests and end up helping characters, affecting the game in subtle ways. There are places where you can interact with the scenery to find new paths to take, and new ways to win. Animal Crossing has no deep plot, no such intense, fast-paced game play, no extreme off-the-hook graphics that pull you off of your sofa and into the television. I’m not sure why you’d want that to happen, but I’ve heard it advertised in several places. It’s an accolade of all of the lesser factors that make a game great, compiled into one game, which in itself becomes great. You can keep coming back, doing things over and over. It never gets old, because every time it’s something different, and every time, it is that urge to find that difference factor that drives you forward. At least, it’s like that for a while. If you’re like me, you’ve played it for countless months now and know every last crevice by heart, so it losses some appeal. However, I adhere to my point. That’s my opinion.
But since we’re on the topic, did you know that Tom Nook was voted one of the top ten most evil video game characters of all time in some magazine a while back? I must say, I agree. o.o

Yeah, although I too grew weary of Animal Crossing after a few months, I certainly did have fun with it for a while, and there's no denying it's a very unique (if very Japanese) concept. I suppose it's not for everyone, but that doesn't make it a bad game.
I also have trouble respecting an opinion based on less than an hour of gameplay... (COUGHCOUGHBLYKAANDCHRONOTRIGGER) Well, unless it's something truly atrocious, like Super Harry Potter Adventures in Azkaban.
As for my worst games... Um, I immediately thought of Moto Racer, this extremely generic motocross racer for the Playstation. Boring, boring, boring.
Out of the more well known games I've played, though, I'd have to go with Final Fantasy on Final Fantasy Origins. The oldest school I ever attended was the school of SNES, so I find it really hard to appreciate/be nostalgic for NES games. I really should have known better than to think the first Final Fantasy game would actually be entertaining or fun for me. I tend to get a little pissed off when there are only the vaguest directions as to where you're supposed to go next, you run into random battles literally every step, and it's impossible to level up to be prepared for the monsters because it's impossible to buy supplies. Oh yeah, and this was on easy mode. I really shouldn't make purchases based on nostalgia for games I have no nostalgia for.
OH, OH, another one. Back in the SNES days, my Blockbuster never carried anything cool. This led to our family renting Lester the Unlikely. I think it had some laugh potential, since the whole thing is about a geek who gets lost on a desert island with pirates and things, but the game is nearly unplayable. Not to mention it's just UGLY. And sluggish. Give it a download sometime.
But this topic has inspired me to visit the bargain bin at Target, just to see if I truly can find anything worse...

Animal Crossing is just to cute a game causing my boredom even more so. You guy can love it as much as you want. Maybe I'll give it a chance one more time. It's going to bore me to death quite likely cause I love plots and action in my gamplay. Not big headed teddy bear people running in a town of dellusiopal big headed people were soylent green is on the menu.
Another couple of perhaps crappier games I just remembered are Spyro: Enter the Dragon Fly and some rooster game. Sadly Chicken Run also sucked. Oh, and how could I forget. The Scooby-Doo games. Why let me down with those games people? I had hopes on those. High ones. Well, except that forgotten rooster game. What was that? Oh well.

Sonic heroes for the ps2, I was expecting something much better when i bought it, but every level had the same bad guys in it, and the boss levels were rubbish. I also hate the harry potter games "oh no ron is stuck in a tree, instead of climbing it, lets walk around aimlessly for an hour or two" - this is the basic plot of all three games, instead of using the amazingly easy method of fixing a problem, you have to find six different spells, defeat a giant monster, navigate a maze, avoid prefects.... It goes on endlessly EDIT=What's a psx
