Hey, after a little struggle with a few modeling programs we successfully got all the bones and the skin into MED, allowing us to do some new things. - Models will take up less space - We will be able to put the new model in B 11 - 8 DIRECTION WALKING SYSTEM FINALLY WILL WORK - And much more Here is an animation on Trigger with using the Bones 69.14.52.172/Triggerwalk.aviUPDATE Once again, work on MMLE is on a rise, and we would really like to here what people think about the current updates screens and videos, to know if we are on the right track and everything. Today, fully animating the MegaMan Trigger model has begun, unlike the fact that I told people the new model would not be useable in the B 11 ruins demo, it turns out it will be, with updated animations that make a debut in it. Everything is coming along fine, but we would love to have a lot more input from non-staff members.

Okay, I'm freaking out. I downloaded the walkcycle video and literally said "OH MY GOSH! It looks so good!" Seriously, the animation is fluid, the new model looks GREAT...
And it'll be in B11?! AWESOME!

And unlike the other models, this one retains looking good in MED. Throughout the development, MegaMan has had 3 major changes of looks, Now on the picture below, I got THE ORIGINAL MEGAMAN TRIGGER MODEL ON THE FAR LEFT, MADE AND TEXTURED BY NMN. In the Middle is the first MegaMan made by Mandinga, and NMN textured him On the right, is the new awesome MegaMan Model textured, modeled, and rigged (A sort of way of making animations easier, by making polygons connected by a sort of bone system) by Mandinga. Enjoy this little tribute, and just see how far MMLE has really come...

JMC should be able to put these to use:D JMC : wit would be wise to to use "rigged" instead of "Boned"

Caption Trigger #3: X had a copy, why can't I?
...oh wait...this isn't the Caption thread...
Looking at the 3 models placed side by side, the game has really taken leaps and bounds in progress over the 9 months it's been around.
I don't know why, but I seem to prefer model #2 ('cept for the face texture)...It's just everywhere you see the "official" Trigger, he's kinda blocky (due to poorer game technologies in the late 90s). But model #3 is a lot cleaner...so I'd use #3...
One small problem with the models...the hands...Trigger isn't suppose to have individual fingers...his hands are usually always in a fist with the spaces inbetween his fingers shown via texturing...that and the hands look a wee bit too big...
That's my thoughts on the matter...GO MMLE!

All of his fingers work like a fully articulated hand, he can meet the standard set by AT of having the ability to flip the bird.

To prove my professionalism, I recorded what I did while making a MED animation. I listened to it, and I will not be proving my professionalism, but a few people found it funny. NOTES: I am sick, I cough while recording this ePSXe is an emulator for PSX that I use to slow down the actual game (MML2) to get the main idea of an animation. The person in the background I talk to during this is the infamous coder, NMN. I originally only meant for me to hear this, but it turned out that it was a little strange, and I thought "this would make a good download." This is me narrating me making 1 frame of animation for MMLEx. BTW, if I get a good (or wierd) response from this, then I will make more episodes of "Behind the developer", which I think this is, And maybe eventually, even use a capture program and record the screen if I feel like it. Its called MED experience 2 because this is the edited version where I took out a lot of the blank time where I did nothing, or was frustrated and threw my mic. Enjoy, and I am not a psycho. BTW, I do cuss in this, a little, so do not download this is you mind hearing a few da**s and he**s. 69.14.52.172/CrazyMedexperience2.wavAND BTW, The animation I am making in this recording is coming along fine, since I only made the first frame in the recording, I still have a few more frames to make for it.

It wasn't meant to be serious, just a random downloadable. Besides, it shows how much I enjoy working on MMLEx . We are nearing the home stretch on B 11 (finally, and hopefully we will finish it before too long.) Everything upon the old version has improved.

He can meet the standard set by AT of having the ability to flip the bird. Cool! MMLE-Trigger's gonna flip-the-bird in the same! All we need to do is have him shout a few profanities here and there...no? Too far? nvm then. Anyways, I'm anxious for B11... *can't think of anything else to say, so I'm just going to type this here to fill space so the post isn't marked as spam...anyone reading this can stop now, and I'm just going to keep rambling on here. Honestly, this is just "filler" and has nothing to do with the message before the asterisk, which means that I could get in trouble for doing this, so I guess I should stop now, eh?*

The only thing I didn't like about legends was the whole kiddy atmosphere. Some blodd and mature taunts would be nice, but then again thats all up to JMC and NMN.

I would have no problem with mature stuff in the game myself, but a lot of Legends fans are kids, so there will not be much profanity or anything. The atmosphere of the game has not yet been made, but we do not expect it to be as childish as MML1 and 2.

Now, after all of the changes made to MMLEx, this is no longer the same game as it was in B 10, nothing original has made it through unchanged. So this is a brand new game, working off of the old code, we have changed everything, from models to code. There may be a few B 10 things in it, but this is now a B 1 V 2 MMLEx Beta. That basically means that the game is going to be all different from B 10. From running to shooting, everything has been tuned to the next level. The official name for this version so far is Beta Build 1 Version 2.0 Core. Basically it means, we have made so much improvements, that there is no reason for it to be called B 11, because this would be like a B 100 compared to it. This is going to be the biggest change in MMLE since we went from Alpha to Beta. Videos coming soon.

I dunno if I'd call is B1 V2 MMLEx...I mean, couldn't we put the version numbers AFTER the game name? I mean, MMLEx B10 was, say, MMLEx b1.10. Now MMLEx V2 B1 could be MMLEx b2.01 (just a thought)
It's nice to see MMLE is progressing...finally we'll be able to see what's been going on behind closed doors and drawn curtains for so long.

How about this, its an entirely different game now, everything from B 10 has been changed or altered for the better. So this is a B 1 of our game. The version 2 is just to show that its not the old B 1 that was unreleased.
UPDATE
B1V2 is advancing VERY QUICKLY right now, for the most part, besides MegaMan we will be using Beta models and such, but MegaMan will be the final one. Problems and why it isn't released...
- Camera movement while jumping has some trouble
- platforming more difficult than should be
- some animations not done yet
- Treasure Chest Model and Code not done
- Incomplete ruins, though geometry is done for the most part
- Scaling errors
Thats all that needs to be fixed really, and expect a much more fun game this time around, since fun factor is meant for this version of the game. Other wise, we are still very short of staff, and anyone who can help I would highly recommend posting or emailing me.
There may be more beta testing openings in the near future.
UPDATE:
Another great day, NMN easily coded for oever 7 hours today, and completed more than I had expected, and you can expect videos very soon. This is turning out very very good.
UPDATE:
Today, the game seems to be coming together, with most of the gameplay mechanics working, and the engine only having one known error, which is not even that bad.
We have finished
- Item system
- New* Reaverbots
- Animations for the most part
- Gameplay Mechanics
- Shooting
- Getting damaged animations
- Better Menu System
MMLEx is playing much better than it used to, not saying its that good yet, I still do not think it matches Legends, but I really believe we are getting closer.
We hope to get this out by our 10 month mark.
UPDATE (again)
Now we have 6 reaverbots ready for the ruins demo (B1V2) and we are going to make the ruins a bit longer..., about 3 times longer, and try our best to put in a whole load of features. Why is this taking so long to come out with the demo? Because we keep adding new stuff, we added new stuff to the point that we will begin work on the real game as soon as we are finished with this demo, since all the main stuff is now done for the game. Anything you saw in MML1 or 2 is almost guarrenteed to be in MMLE Ruins Demo.
Having a joystick is recommended, mainly because I think the Keyboard controls like crap. The controls on the joystick, if you have a PS2 like controller, will be identical to the controls on MML2. When work on Part 1 of MMLEx starts, expect way less updates, we will probably just post screens and stuff.
I am very sorry for taking so long, but when we had everything just about ready, it felt incomplete, so we have been adding stuff for about 2 weeks now, and now there isn't much more to add, so I don't think it will be too much longer, but you know, I have worse estimates than fab.....
