I think that most people prefer 1 over 2 simply because of Kattelox's somewhat quaintness. It was such a small little town, where everyone knew who you were, and you knew them in return. I admit that I too like that about the game, but I still prefer 2's advancement in gameplay. I'd have liked it a lot more, had they have just taken the key elements from Legends 1, such as the intertwined ruins, large (and REVISITABLE ) cities, and just applied them to Legends 2, whilst maintaining it's incredible gameplay.

Unfortunately due to the Playstation's hardware limitations, that would have been physically impossible. In order for the game to stay on only one disc, the game had to either have one really big town like Kattelox, or a bunch of smaller towns that don't change much, like the ones in MML2. It's something I've learned from using RPG Maker (the first one), and personally I like the "one huge town" format a little better. I doubt the MML games run off such a rudimentary engine, but using that program tends to make people realize the limitations of game development, and how to work around them.

That's true. At least, I know I've seen better - while still multiple - towns pulled off in multi-disc Playstation games. Legend of Dragoon(at a whopping four discs) comes to mind, though it's been quite a while since I played that game. I may be remembering wrong, but I don't think so.
Now, why they couldn't have put it on more than one disc, I don't know, but then again, this is MegaMan Legends we're talking about here. Until there's a Zero in it, Capcom pretty much won't acknowledge its existence, let alone actually put some effort into it.
I myself, enjoyed Legends 2 more, though. While there was a certain comfort level in Legends 1, the depth plot-wise in Legends 2 is completely unmatched by that of Legends 1.

Has there EVER been a Mega Man game where Capcom's actually used more than one disc? I don't think so. I don't know why, but it's just never happened. It's probably cause of the nature of the series itself--how many platformers actually NEED more than one disc? A multi-disc MM game would have taken Legends even farther away from the traditional MM formula, and adding more discs would have made it more expensive to boot. It wasn't exactly holding its own in the economical sense overseas, either. If it had been, we'd have MML3 by now. No sense risking the loss of more profits by tacking on another disc just to make the towns bigger, that's probably what they were thinking.

I've never played it myself as it's only available in Japanese, but I'm fairly certain that Super Adventure Rockman was a mutli-disc game. After a quick search, MMHP seems to show it being a three disc game. Of course, it also seems to be real FMV heavy too, so that would explain that. Even so, Legends didn't really even push one CD's capacity. They probably could've pulled more off, even with just one CD. Though, from what I've read, the series didn't really do as bad as they'd have you believe. I'm pretty sure a lotta the reason it didn't take off after 2 was that they got really caught up in MegaMan X at about the same time. Then the Battle Network and Zero series came along, and those have pretty much just now started to die down. And now of course, we have ZX, and the Powered Up/Maverick Hunter line tying everything up. >_< But, well, if things are cyclical as I think they are, DASH is bound to be next on their list.

I picked Mega Man Legends, because the ending really makes me feel happy for Mega Man and Roll...plus, The Bonne's ending is just classic:D!

Well you always have to remember that only reason the legends was made is because of Sony's 3D only policy. Capcom could have made legends a really made game and Sony would have been happy. I have no idea about the limitions of games so I'm just going to say this (beep)...ok considing they didn't do a bad job I'm happy of course they could have did more but that's the past. They can't do anything about now unless they rerealsed legends with added content. The ZX games could be just another way to get out of making a new legends game but they will eventually get to legends. When that happens, we here at legends-station a throwing a huge mother trukin party and this is real mother trukin talk...wait what I need stop watching old madtv episodes.

Misadventures of Tron Bonne is too lacking in Roll department, so NO. The first Legends has Mega Man Juno, but the second has The Master...hmm... I'll pick of the first game, since I've spent more time playing it and I like Juno's theme music and the baroque music a lot.

Megaman Legends 2 is the best, I think.
Greater storyline, excellent gameplay, awesome features, massive maps, more thrilling dungeons... Makes it one of the best Action-RPG game on the console. There was no game with that kind of gameplay in the early millenium. Actually, the first one was awesome either. It's was an excellent game, compared to the other PS One games in the late 90's, don't you agree? Tron Bonne was a funny and entertaining game. I loved that one. I played it if I got bored with other monotone PS One games.
But simply, 5 out of 5 for Megaman Legends 2.

I've never played TMoTB, but I've read the guidebook. It looks pretty good, but I think the other two have the better storylines (no duh). I especially like how MML2 seems to clear up loose ends near the ending, but I think it reveals a bit too much. Still, with Inafune Kijane's situation on MML3, I am sorta glad MML2 clears things up, because we could be peeling ourselves off of our computer chairs in 2021 before MML3 is made! (joke/exaggeration/whatever)

I'm not sure. MOTB is out of the question cuz I don't own a copy. Legends is good for not hard backtracking and small ruins. Truth is: I HATE THE RUINS!!!!!! In Legends 2 (good graphics, nice gameplay) you have to go through the dern water ruins and then backtrack through them with like no health only to get murdered by Klaymoore at the entrance BEFORE YOU CAN SAVE on friggin' hard or very hard mode!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I have another save made right after the water ruins. So I've only played through the entire game like 3 times

I like Megaman Legends 1 the most because It's what got me interested in Megaman again whenever it was slowly slipping out of my mind not to mention the awesome ruins its cool how they are all connected. I also like Megaman Legends 2 a lot!
(But legends 1 wins my vote.)

Still, MML1 goes by WAY too quickly if you know what you're doing. Especially since you COULD just skip most of the sub-quests.
