I've honestly never been to a gamestop store before. I never knew where one was...in my area I've only seen EB Games, and a while back I remember Microplay. I think I've only had one bad experience with EB games. I bought MegaMan Battle Network 3: Blue and the box wasn't in the best condition. Besides that I've always thought it was an ok store. So now all the EB stores will become gamestops?

I've got bad news. EBGames still exists. I went to the mall and saw one there. The games were a little overpriced, but not far out of reach. It seemed to have been run pretty well. So GameStop didn't buy it out completely.

I hate EB and their almost-impossible-to-remove stickers! NO MORE!

So GameStop didn't buy it out completely. It doesn't matter if the store is still named EBGames. I assure you, the merger applied to the entire franchise. I don't know if all the EBGames will retain the same name or not (I kind of see that as pointless, I don't really see how two game stores under the same company could possibly be any different), but the last I read, the merger would be complete this August or so.

I never had any problems with EB Games. The one I usually go to has nice employees. There's this hippy guy with a ponytail who is nice and knows all about games, some girl who might not play games, but is still very polite, and there's this other guy that knows a little TOO much about video games. They never tried to scam me, or make me spend money that I didn't need too. I just used that discount card the other day, actually. They'll always make sure a disc isn't scratched up before selling it to me, too. The only problem I have with EB is the stickers that they put ALL OVER the games!
Oh, well. I guess those of you who don't like EB because of the people who work there are out of luck, because even though the name of the store might change, the people who work there, and the way that they run it won't.
I'll miss you, EB!

My EB games wasn't bad at all. I bought a DDR mat there--one of the crappy Mad Katz ones (I'd just gotten DDR and my mom picked it up). It kept breaking because Mad Katz dance mats are inferior to the official Konami mat, but every time I returned it they gave me a replacement mat free of charge! ;D Of course, once I got the Konami mat I never had to go back and replace it again.

I'm starting to wonder if this GameStop buying out EB thing really even happened... Cuz... there's still EBs around here; one's even like really close to a GameStop! And the service is STILL better. ...and the prices for that matter Did I miss something?

Gamestop reigns surpreme! Tthey're aways cool and give me free promotional stuff as well as let me get games before their official release when they're in storage, so I'm glad to hear this. As for EB Games....

I've bought games before their official release at EB.
And, no, I don't think EB is..."pwned" I've been to three EBs since I read this, and not one of them was any less....EBish.
