Well, gotta say, personally, this is my FAVORITE forum of all the Mega Man Forums I've seen across the net, even thought it could be a bit of a challenge to compete graphically with other forums, I love this one the best cuz of it's people! Maan... I had scanned through 3073 forums... all with mega man involved in it... Heck, I even got banned from a forum (6 times now) because they're being a bit rude to me. It's actually the Mega Man Empire forum lol (only one admin was reasonable with me so far but the others and the... "Honcho Owner" of that site is a bit rather ruuuude...) I got 4 emails from people on there apologizing. That made me get on my Static T3 IP and make more accounts and try to keep reading those dang messages they blocked me from seeing. Take a look! Other sites are rather... immature or dead. There are only a few strong forums, and this is actually the strongest one I've seen, and I'm grateful for being a member of this forum (somebody better add to this thread cuz it's true!!! Otherwise state it and prepare to be banned ) Maaaan I'm so mad at the other forums right now! *reads posts in other threads*

It's a shadow of its former glory.. =/ Honestly.. we're a welcoming bunch; and I'll admit the n00bs get worse on other sites. But in my opinion, nothing interesting has happened here in ages. I'm spending more time posting at GameFAQs these days. People join and then leave(many of our old long-timers have done this by now), then new people come, then they leave, then more people come. A good number of the people here now are from a few more come 'n' go's later. Chalk it up to whatever you like: the site itself's age, the fact that there hasn't been a new Legends game in over six years, whatever. You say it's good now, which is good, but I must say I pity you, because you missed out on what we had before. (I don't quite understand why we're hearing this from you, now.. a quick search of your posts shows that the only actual topic you've posted in regarding the Legends series was the Legends 1 Commercial thread. I haven't read many of your posts, but I still have my doubts that you know anything about the games.. )

The fact of the matter is that many people, or I at least, won't post in a topic if they have nothing really to add, or if they don't think there opinion will mean anything. There are many reasons someone can not post, and it doesn't have to be that they don't know anything about the game. Of course, it's not impossible that Paul doesn't know anything about it... but it's borderline flaming to go telling somebody who posts about how much they enjoy the Megaman Legends themed board that they don't know anything about the games because they don't post on it. I didn't post about it for my latter half of my stay on the board's more active time, and goodness knows I love the game.

Well, Heat, I meant that more as a joke than anything. Or, possibly, a chance to get some Legends discussion going here, but that's a long since dead dream for me.

Legends discussion's only going to happen if we get some new material, over the years we've discussed practically everything there is to discuss about those three games. I'm not surprised Paul only posted in one MML-related thread; would you rather we all just recycled old topics from when the forums were first opened? I can just imagine it now: Re: Who should Mega Man go out with?
Like I said in May of 2005, when I last posted in this thread, Mega Man should go out with Tron, because Roll is a whiny brat and Tron fell in love with her first. And I doubt my opinion on the matter is going to change anytime soon. |
You'd also get problems like new users responding to people who haven't logged on to MMLS in years if we tried that, so unearthing old threads is out of the question. And to be completely honest, do you REALLY want to answer the old "Roll vs. Tron" question for the fifteenth time? Probably not. MMLS is really more about the people now than the game discussion, and it's all because Crapcom's been acting like the stuck-up, senseless, money-craving mega-corporation that it is. They spew out senseless garbage like Battle Network instead of continuing the one decent Mega Man series aside from Classic and the first four X games, only because they want to make a quick profit instead of a good game. We've had our hopes and dreams crushed, smashed, shattered, and flushed down a cheap port-a-potty more times than we can all count. It's a miracle people continue to even post here, and keep in relatively good spirits about it. It's ironic how someone posts something good about this site and you jump right in saying how much this place sucks...kind of like you're trying to scare people away...

Perhaps I disagree with the reasons people say these good things. As I said, chalk it up to whatever you like, the guy's missing out.

to tell you the truth, I dont even remember how I found this forum, It probably happened when I was searching for info on MML3, needless to say, Im glad i found it, I've met some very....interesting people such as Rage, Musashi, Melty, and Ravenf6, Im glad I met them.
The members are what make this place great, without members, an forum is useless. I know because I am a part of a few dying forums.
This has been one of the best forums ive ever visited, everyone is friendly to you, there is (suprisingly) hardly any bad language, and although this forum is built on a long-dead game, the place thrives because you have re-ignited a long-burned out legends flame for a few of us (me).

Dashe, when you brought up the ol' Who should Megaman go out with/marry/end up with/look at in that special way and write poetry about thread I actually felt physically sick for an instant. Man, we've kicked that one around so many times it's not even cliche anymore, and the fact that I'm one of only people around here who has the genious to see that MEGAMAN and ROLL are clearly meant for each other (and so on and so forth) only exacerbrates the subject. Now lets leave it at that for old times sake.
Speaking of old times, quint, while I don't agree with his speaking down to Four, has a point. Back in the good old days this place was on fire. Every night was like... was like... was like one of my posts. yeah... wait I already put my veiws and opinions above that of the forum today... On second thought, it was like warm apple pie. No, no, I don't know how many of you are old enough to have this disscussion. Hmmm... Fine, I guess the best way I can describe it is like when somebody responds to your posts, but every night for a month. And most of the people at least tried to be funny.
But the forums are still great, mostly because the people here aren't jerks (it's makes SUCH a difference) and, after much legislation, we've pushed the majority of the SPAM making off the site.

(I don't quite understand why we're hearing this from you, now.. a quick search of your posts shows that the only actual topic you've posted in regarding the Legends series was the Legends 1 Commercial thread. I haven't read many of your posts, but I still have my doubts that you know anything about the games.. ) Now where did that come from? I stated that I've defeated both Legends 1 and 2. I've beatened all but the new Mega Man game for DS and the Battle Network series (due to the fact that I dislike the battlenetwork series). I have both demos and legends 2 betas and Legends 2 for the PSP (which isnt much better than the PSX version). Legends was a favorite of mine since the Nintendo 64 release for it came about. I saw a preview at WalMart or something once and I thought it was going to be sooo bad, but when i tried it out, loved it to death. However, I was the opposite with battlenetworks... I love the game and play it, but while playing it, I lose motivation and hate them games almost immediately. I got issues XD Anyways, I had t make this post because I'm being very blunt about what I've seen and researched. This is basically my favorite and the best forum I've been on. Log into the Mega Man Empire forum, and look at the administrators there... I mean, even after hacking their forum and using my t3 connection for static IP and everything just to tick em off, I finally was able to reason with one of the admins and get my account back... Just log on and look at the posts for my project in the 'General' threads. My friend Jim had taken screenshots of every post and Musashi had read all of the posts on there as well for a witness. Those guys are horrible! Especially... trying to teach respect... they have none... its amazing Anyways, yeah... A lot of other forums are either dead and the few that are not are a bit immature... It's very are to find a Mega Man forum that is actually alive and appropriate, especially one so highly like this one. I totally admire the whole MMLS Forum and am surprise of the amount of effort being put into it along with it's people and staffs. Well, I'm just glad I can safely say I'm happy to be here and I feel safe with the staff and members involved with this forum.

Hmm. Well, I tend to fade in and out, but this is still a great forum. Even in a less... active state.
It's the only one dedicated to MML I've found. And by that I mean that I didn't bother to find any other ones. I'm fine just with the MMLS forums.
I don't think I'll be disappearing for good any time soon.

I don't believe I've ever visited the Empire forums, but MME is a Legends Station affiliate, and Delta happens to be a friend of mine... *cough* Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying this place so much. Seems like these kind of threads pop up every so often, and it's always nice to see, I think. ^_^
The place certainly isn't as active as it once was, but that's to be expected. My #1 complaint would have to be that some members don't know how to let go of the past. Everyone knows the place (for better or worse is debatable) isn't the same as it used to be, but some people won't enjoy it for what it is because they're too busy looking at what it is no longer.
I'd like to tell a quick story, something that comes to mind in this situation... Last year I really got into a Japanese music group by watching some live videos of their performances. As it happened, it was a group that constantly has members leaving it and new ones coming in. As such I was greatly disappointed to find that everything I had been watching was two years old, and that several of the members I'd gotten to know were already gone, including my two favorites. The present day group was a shadow of its former glory, with less members and less good songs. While in Japan this past summer, I saw them perform live, the last performance they'd have before two more members were to leave. Even though they weren't what they used to be, I figured it was the only time I'd ever be able to see them with a bit of their "old feel" before they changed forever. After that, I figured there'd be nothing left of the old days and my fandom might very well drift away. Surprisingly, the concert blew me away, and completely changed my feeling toward the present group. Those old days will always be my favorite, of course, but seeing them in concert made me realize that they still had the ability to do great stuff, and made me value the remaining and new members more than ever, even if they aren't my favorite ones... I expected a "last hurrah" and instead I'm more into the group than ever. It's a very different group, but still terrific all the same.
...take a lesson from it?

Well, Delta was good (for the longest time) but he is being swayed by some officially rude friends he has, such as Liz and TheRedPriest. Anyways, they banned me again today... and my friend Dave was banned out of nowhere cuz they said he was banned for a reason? Did they think it was me? lol.
Anyways, I'll deal with them another time... (gotta head back home so i can use static ip =.= )
But yeah... MME is by far, reasonable nor understanding, just to be blunt.
I have 3 friends as witnesses for just about everything that had happened as well =\. They all find it pretty much a questionable argument since it's pretty stupid on their part...

I know you love this place, Quint but you refuse to attempt it..but then again I can bet some money that you a secret grudge against the Rage. *does the I'm watching you thing.* Since I have been here, I think it has been great here. I loved the first couple of months here..then it slowly started become really inactive except for the forum games. Sad..month or two it was. If you think this place is filled with n00bs, you haven't seen nothing. I have seen forums so bad, I wanted to spend hours trying to figure out the Admins password and ban everybody. Just remember Quint/Pitch it could also be worse like fAB leaves us and just gives out his password and leaves. Then a n00b comes uses the password and goes crazy. He/She starts flaming everybody, starts cussing up a storm, bans everybody, post porn and deletes the whole forums all together. Then no more legends-station.

Nostalgia can make one do some unusual things. I joined 3 other online forums, and on most of them, I had to deal with a lot of rubes, some of them gave a friend of mine a hard time so after that, I shied away from that kind of thing. Then when I found this place, I pretty much learned to love the Legends series all over again. After meeting folks like Rage, Musashi, and Star General here, I thought this was one of the best places I can find on the net. Yeah, it's lamentable that there hasn't been a Legends 3 for 6 years, but you know something? It's not the end of the world. I've seen some crazy things here, whether it be the Caption Contest, the What if games, and even Rages' MMLS Militia, there's still a lot of stuff here that has me coming back. Where else can you find such an intesting group of people? I'm glad I came here when I did in May. ;D
