So then...you do want to play it? I'm sorry, judging by what you said before I thought you could care less, not to say that rudely, I just misunderstood. I thought you'd have said something like Capcom cares so little about Legends that they'll only be willing to release one obscure game on cheap, Japanese cell-phones that no one will remember three months from now.
Not to say that's how I feel about it, that's why I want to inform myself on the plot and the "popularity" of it in Jap.

I think it's very lame of them to wait so long and then do this, perhaps the cheapest of the cheap ways to release something they don't even care about(honestly, I figured maybe something on the DS or PSP might be cheap, but I never even considered they'd be this lazy). It's pathetic really, but if I had the chance to play it I'd at least give it a look. But, being something that's available strictly in Japan -- not even with a possibility of importing like one could do with NamcoXCapcom or the PSP ports, I think we're really getting screwed twice over.

It's really unfortunate that CoJ decided on making a cellphone game over a game for an internationally-marketed platform, but it makes sense. Not only are downloadable phone-based games more commercially viable over in Japan as opposed to traditional gaming platforms - which have the downside of (usually) needing a physical delivery system - but when it comes down to it, you have to identify specifically what company we're talking about. This isn't just about Capcom. It's about Capcom of Japan. They cater to their home-base market, Japan. It shouldn't be their fault for producing a game for the Japanese marketplace that is only realistically accessible by the Japanese. It's up to Capcom of America, of Europe, of Korea, etc if they choose to go through the hoops of porting the game and making it available to their respective marketplaces. If CoA doesn't see a profit in localizing X game or Y game, I figure it's their choice...and seeing how the entire game would have to be redone JUST so we could play it...it makes sense that they don't port it. So one can't blame CoJ - the game's probably not big enough to justify incurring the cost of physical distribution. You can't blame CoA or CoE - it would likely be one of their greatest financial losses, compartively speaking to how much they'd have to invest in it. In the end, it isn't about how much they "like" or "hate" the series - it's all a matter of money. They've effectively created a small game to ride on the continued DASH fandom that they can sell for almost pure profit. In effect, I believe they're testing the waters to see if Legends can become another cash-cow series. Are we ready for the benefits and consequences this implies?

You know something? For some reason I keep thinking there's a Japanese boy right now laughing at our whole conversation here while he pats his whole collection of Rockman DASH. Imagine if they made like 7 DASH games that we haven't even heard about and for some odd reason they never ported any. I just shot myself!

I don't understand why everyone is so whiny about this. If it's popular, maybe Capcom will release it on the PSP just like how SquareEnix released Crisis Core first on cell phones then much later on the PSP.
This game looks "too big" for being just a cell phone game. (Compare it to say the Servbot mini games or the Dash golf game released a long time ago on their cell phones.) Perhaps Capcom will re-release it on PSP with more levels/islands and features. Mostlikely it will be only in Japanese format, but heck, the PSP is region free...
I think the cell phone market is like "testing the water" grounds before videogame companies spend more money on a certain project on more expensive outlets (as such the PSP or DS). So really, we should be hoping that the Japanese consumers will push Capcom into going back to this series.

Actually, Crisis Core is it's own game made exclusively for PSP. You're thinking of Before Crisis.

If it's popular, maybe Capcom will release it on the PSP just like how SquareEnix released Crisis Core first on cell phones then much later on the PSP. ~~~ I think the cell phone market is like "testing the water" grounds before videogame companies spend more money on a certain project on more expensive outlets (as such the PSP or DS). So really, we should be hoping that the Japanese consumers will push Capcom into going back to this series. Break, I can appreciate what you're saying (even for the part of it that was a bit off). But that's kind of tired thinking we've been using about just about everything DASH-related over the past few years. Incidentally, I think I may have referred to the PSP ports as "testing the water" way back when; to my knowledge those have sold pretty well (re-released, neh?), but it hasn't really done anything (unless you count this, which I don't). I can't imagine the cell-phone game market's bigger than the PSP market, or even equal in size, too, so.. I dunno, I find it hard to be so optimistic. It is pretty cool, though, to have something new and original This game looks "too big" for being just a cell phone game. (Compare it to say the Servbot mini games or the Dash golf game released a long time ago on their cell phones.) Perhaps Capcom will re-release it on PSP with more levels/islands and features. Mostlikely it will be only in Japanese format, but heck, the PSP is region free... I'd chalk up the “too big”-ness of it to cellphones' having more capabilities these days, but I suppose it might be pretty big for a cellphone regardless… I suppose it can't hurt to hope, though (the painful part is when you're let down), so all right. Heck, I'd be all for another PSP release seeing as the DASH 1 and 2 ports were just awesome. (p.s. 200th post )
