Better late than never right?
I would've been interested to know the friend's opinion on Legends 1 compared to 2 but it is what it is.
My initial take: both games are great but if you play Legends 2 without experiencing Legends 1 a lot of the charm is lost. It takes a certain attachment to what's going on in the games with an eagerness to know more about what exactly that is. Assuming the friend did play Legends 1 then this is a nonissue.
My take on mechanics: Legends 1 is stiff as sin but revolutionary for its time, and Legends 2 expands on that. I think some of Legends 2's new mechanics even up the difficulty a bit since I was never expecting to run into status effects among other things, and not a single one of them ends up being fun or easy to deal with. I can see how things like that might lower the overall quality to someone though.
Nino Ruins especially feels like a constant status effect while underwater. Get knocked down, land on your head guaranteed with chip damage if you like looking at Rock's hair, neverminding the slowdown.
Compared to Legends 1 the zenny grind is laughably easy in Legends 2, so much so that you can get yourself to zenny cap in a few hours by just holding down the vaccuum arm button with a rubber band while never actually taking damage. It was probably done that way to add artificial longterm playability but it was completely unwarranted and misguided, so ends up further dropping the quality.
Some of these things get fixed in the PSP version as I understand. Nino is less slow and upgrade costs are cheaper; but that ultimately doesn't help when we've needed a new game and a PC remaster for as long as we've gone without.
Overall: great games, Legends 2 tried to be further innovative on the innovation Legends 1 had, but they took more than they gave at the end of the day.

Hey Kyle, and everyone else. I still check in, albeit not as much as I used to. Post? You'd be lucky. I'd be a fool not to respond to a thread addressing the community as a whole no matter how late it ends up being! I'm in a better position to be a pensioner than a moderator but ultimately I'm quick to the draw if you know where to find me and it's brought to my attention. This year's been great. Mostly if not only because this month has brought the first sign of normal hours for the job I've worked since frigging late 2019 early 2020. Two years of straight overtime weeks otherwise. They even tallied up something like 150k overtime hours that they put their employees through due to COVID, which hasn't been so prominent this year. Crazy huh? This year also brought the death of my mother. Not looking for sympathy and haven't mentioned it on Discord either, it is what it is. She was 55 and had complications during a biopsy for her cancer. It's every bit as scary and potentially nasty as it sounds so I can only hope everybody takes better care of themselves than she did. The bar she set wasn't the highest, so I'm not too horribly worried. It's been just over a month since her passing, so I'd say the family's in better spirits these days too. The year giveth, the year taketh away. As far as Megaman Legends contributions to the community, I've got nothing. It's also been so long since I've played the game that I'd be doing good to remember anything specific if not a random silly Trigger face that he makes only a single time in the entirety of MML1 just cuz the one on Discord is too low quality to be worth keeping. You can ask MLT about that one. Still happy to see all of the artwork people find and forward for me to look at. You're all appreciated for that. That's all I got. Keep living long and living strong!

Hi fAB, things look great! I will say I've never really had a staunch opinion when it came to colors and themes as long as contrast wasn't misused so I love what you did with the place!
I'm indifferent on the idea of bringing the new theme over to the forums although I admit I would probably like it a bit more than the v4 style if it replaced the default whenever I happen to glance at the site as a guest. Glad you're doing well and working hard for the community!

As fate would have it, in 2020 we've been gifted the tools to shape the best Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game into whatever we want it to be, complete with cutscenes and our own dungeons. Seeing as the game turns sandbox after completion of the main story, it seems only fitting that modding and creation are the next step. Save data more than likely doesn't work between versions though so it would be necessary to recreate desirable mons every time, but the story-telling novelty potential is there for those who have the time.

Hey Rage, welcome back. I wish I could've been around during your time and was able to know you back then, but it's just a blessing to be here now so I can see everyone return should they decide to. Please feel free to continue sharing your reminiscence as you play if you want to! BC's gone and made us a Discord server as well if you're interested in direct chats with members of MMLS seeing as most of our old messengers have bit the dust at this point. Here's a link!

I don't believe Purifier Units had any reason to go to Terra due to reinitialization. Ultimately we're left with a lot of unanswered questions thanks to the lack of closure, and any possibility could be correct based on what information we have. Mother Units are the highest rank as far as we know, and yes Purifier Units answer to them by default. Dashe is right in that Trigger was an anomaly and served the Master instead. It helped that The Master confided in Trigger to a remarkable degree, although there's no news that the Master had to "adjust" Trigger in any way in order to be able to do so. All we have is a flashback, and no other Purifier Units to use as an example. Yuna and Sera both clearly have a Servitor Unit a piece as well, and I don't think there's any concrete evidence that rank is above or below a Purifier unit, although it's assumed it's below (Perhaps I missed a line in MML2 somewhere but eh). Ultimately it's all left to speculation until we get more, and it ends up just being fun to speculate on since we don't have all of the answers.

It was memorable no doubt because of the amount of thought that was put into it. As Dashe mentioned, every little thing you can think of had a purpose, and the extent of interaction you could have with virtually anything was a testimony to that. If anything, it was off-putting for me at first because Megaman's the only given character you ever see wearing armor and because of that he sticks out like a sore thumb until the pirates began showing up.
That aside, Dashe pretty much hit the nail on the head. Building destruction and reconstruction was a mechanic that also helped bring the game to life and I can't think of another game with that kind of thing in it off the top of my head. The only bad thing about the game was its spotty controls that may have turned people away before ever leaving the Ocean Tower and missing out on the personality the game had to offer.
The most memorable part for me was no doubt the contrast between the peaceful atmosphere on the island and the ominous suspenseful atmosphere of any ruin gate you walk through. Between the underground music and bird chirps it was an easy distinction between safety and danger. That's another thing that I don't see much of in games anymore.

Hi Nico. This comic you're working on is truly fascinating, and the art style captures the spirit of Legends quite well. I'll be interested to see where you take this if you decide to continue working on it; feel free to post if you have any future updates to share!

Heyo. Glad to see a new face around here! The thread I would recommend sifting through is this one. Be mindful since the thread's working on being a decade old at this point, and the author's been absent for quite some time. If you don't find what you're looking for in the papercrafts thread, then let us know in a post and we'll explore other options. Hope you enjoy your stay here at MMLS!

If I'm being honest, I learned quite a bit about the other Megamen from watching this because my enthusiasm for the rest of the franchises is next to nonexistent, so I'm glad I watched it despite how "cringey" it was as a Legends fan. Some of their observances and data on Volnutt himself was something to think about as well; often I find myself more interested at what they find out about a character rather than what the outcome of the battle is.

Hey guys, hopefully y'all will enjoy Secret Santa to its fullest despite the cut in labor that it will be receiving. Worth noting: More than likely fAB will still upload all completed works to the Fan Artwork Gallery where the rest of them are at, since that procedure is painless and isn't as time-sensitive as getting a banner rotation active on Christmas Eve. You guys can also look to that page for inspiration from years past to help with your submissions when it's time to think about your recipient's phrase. That's all I have time for, time to dash off to work for now!

I assume you mean the Consumerist link? It's extremely brief so I'll just put it in a spoiler. While more and more companies are adding “forced arbitration” clauses to their terms of service, only a handful of these businesses are offering customers the choice to opt out of this part of the contract. Here are the reasons why you should take advantage of that option whenever possible. 1. Forced arbitration takes away your right to file a complaint in a court of law against a company that’s wronged you.
2. Companies want you to arbitrate because the system has been shown to be heavily unbalanced in favor of businesses — who have the legal knowledge, experience, and funding to put up a proper defense — while harmed consumers often enter into the complicated process without legal representation.
3. Most arbitration clauses also take away the right of groups of harmed consumers to pool their similar complaints together, forcing each customer into going through a binding arbitration that puts limits on damages; meaning companies can harm large groups of customers but get away with only paying out to those people who are willing to arbitrate.
By opting-out you… 1. Can still agree to arbitrate, if you would prefer that option.
2. Can still agree to settle out of court.
For these reasons, it is our recommendation that consumers opt-out of forced arbitration clauses, whenever possible.
