I don't like switching discs... it never works for me.
I like the point system idea though, although that may affect Legends 4, should they make one.

In modern games, there is no need to switch discs. They're made on DVD-ROM instead of CD-ROM (as I recall? Please correct me if I'm wrong).
This is why Final Fantasy X is on one disc whereas previous games in the series were on 3-4. This is also (I assume) why the Playstation 2 doubles as a DVD player.
Legends 3... For some reason, I'm expecting a really big change, like maybe something to do with the combat system. I would really like to see the old kill-a-boss, get-its-weapon system come back because as it stands, Legends has just about nothing to do with the other games in the series. I would also like to see a slightly less linear story. What I really mean is, I'd like to have a solid story but at the same time be able to pick which ruins I want to go to and in the order I want to, like the original series.

Well you know, I wouldn't want to play a game that long, personally. That's just... Wow. Way too long.

That'd be cool if they made Legends 3 that long...
but it'll probably be like Beyond Good and Evil... Great game, but only 1/2 as long as it should have been.
Even old psx games were longer than that one...

If they charted the whole planet then it could possibly be that large, but there's a balance in that sort of stuff. For instance if they made a Star Wars game where the entire universe was charted they'd probably spend some time making it (like ten years, depending on how much work they put into every planet) and some fool would dedicate the rest of his life to playing it. But really they'd have to stick to that for the rest of the series, and quite frankly planets that have been hidden behind nebulae get really old.
In MML they can't create the whole planet unless they're planning on sticking with it, ending it, or disregarding it in game four. Maybe if they started making entire islands with their own story and disk, like MML one, just kattalox, that could work, and they would have some breathing room.

You realize that 6-8 DVDs is somewhere along the lines of... 28.2 - 37.6 GB!? Also, to the one who said 10 DVDs, I think that'd be 47 GB!! Probably more if they've advanced the DVD further than it was last time I checked(4.7GB)!! That is insane! There've been games that were really long that were less than 1/4 as big as that! (Legend of Dragoon(a four-regular disc game) comes to mind) >_< I mean, geez, we want a good game, but that would just be like crazy, and I seriously doubt that it would give any possibility for a Legends 4...

I agree that it would be too large of a game.
I mean, check out Grandia. The game is 80 hours long, and it fits nicely on TWO discs for the PS1.

Estimating--- that'd be like a 700 hour game.

If the game was that long , it would not be a good idea to rent it , especially if it was very good or adictive... Unless you bought after renting it once instead of renting it again and again and again.(I know I would just buy it like most of you probably would when it came out)

Oh and you'd also have to consider how much that would cost to buy... Something tells me that it would be more than a regular game... Oii...

Give me an R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S-! LOL Seriously, how did we get into a 6-8 DVD game discussion? Not only is no game company out there going to spend the 5-10 years it would take to create such a monstrosity, but if they did they would have to charge at least $150 per game to even make it worth their while. o.o;; Furthermore, we're talking about Capcom, specifically the Legends series. They haven't bothered making us a new game in about 4 years. Why in the world would they suddenly pour all their resources into making the biggest game ever for a series that they all but abandoned? We can dream, but let's try to be realistic, people!

How about just a one DVD-ROM game? That's all you need.
Should MML3 be cel-shaded? Should it have the absorb the boss's weapons feature? Should you be able to take "missions"?

Very well put fab... Hahaha....
Cel-Shaded, I'm gunna say yes. Changing graphics now would be no fun...
I dunno about the absorb thing... I always thought the weapons system was unique and fun as it is.
Missions... I don't really understand the question but if you're referring to like the order of things, I like Linierity as far as Legends goes... Making it a random, or a "choose your own path" story might make Legends 3 kinda like what happened to Battle Network with 4... Just my thoughts about it. It's a great series I don't see why it would need to be changed like that,.

Stage select is fun and efficient, but it's hard to keep a strong storyline if events don't happen in a certain order, and the storyline was one of my favorite parts of the series.
