Hello, my name is Zigan and I'm a 2D/3D artist. I'm going to keep this short for now. Like a handful of other aspiring developers that have tried to continue where Capcom left off with the series, I've been working on a prototype for awhile as I've have been very infatuated with Megaman Legends. However, rather than re-use and splash together assets already created by the original developers, I've been making my own with Capcom's art direction in mind and tinkering with the idea of an alternate universe. The other problem is creating a game that may get big enough with countless hours put into the project, that it would get shutdown by Capcom given that it is too closely related with MML. Although this is just a hobby for now and I doubt it would get anywhere near an official release, however, I'd like to entertain the idea and wanted to ask some fan's opinions if they would even be interested in something like this. I have a story and plot created for an overall arc and a much bigger scope, but my initial goal right now is to create a playable demo with a dungeon that is reminiscent of the original series. Eventually I would introduce a town and field to explore and obtain quests and craft upgrades to move the story and gameplay. I've linked some concept art and an early preview of what I have thus far. I will release more with enough feedback. Your thoughts? imgur.com/a/p0xhhAttachments:

I'd play it, but it would need to exist first! That's the biggest obstacle all the spiritual successors and fangames have to face these days. What you've got so far looks good, though. Just keep doing it and don't give up!

Agreed. Existing is a hard threshold. Would be impressed nonetheless if you pursued it to the end, and there's always a place at various sites, locally at SkyPirateArcade, and globally at Gamejolt and the like.
As far as the direction, I'd play it, and it looks plastic yet clean. Despite that, the engine is beautiful and there's no reason I'd see anyone not playing something no matter how simple, with that kind of source and engine.

I've been messing in the Unreal Engine for a couple years now and went from just a 2D artist to also learning some 3D modeling. I'll have to check out some of those places you mentioned. If anyone also has any ideas of what they'd like to see in a Legends based game, please feel free to share!

Depends on if you want to go simple, like a linear single-scene game, or a several-area exploration-based thing. The latter would be nice to see similar to Legends games, the prior is entirely acceptable as there's a few on skypirate arcade I enjoyed.

I'll give this a go when it's playable. What you have so far looks good, really digging the concept artwork. Keep up the good work!
