While I've gone on the record many times to say I'm no fan of the Classic series, I imagine a lot of you were probably glad to hear Capcom's decided to touch the Mega Man franchise at all this year. Do you like the direction they're taking? If you're picking this up, what system are you looking to get it on? I really think they should've done something like this for Mega Man 10. The 8-bit thing twice in a row was overkill. Hopefully some kids decide to pick this up, too.

That was my first thought- "THis should have been how MM10 was done" Forutnately, it's not the only touch they have planned: One thing I'm glad of is that they also plan to bring the Legacy Collections to the switch in the meantime. While it is another porting, it is a bit more tangible support for the console.

I personally feel offended by the fact they practically erased Legends from their timeline on the full trailer. (Unless I'm wrong and I wasn't able to spot it) Classic megaman is not my favorite megaman but at least it's something. It can't be worse than MN9 right?

That did bug me a bit, but I can only reason they feared if they put a ( Mega Man Legends 3 (Canceled) in the timeline, it would have aroused a lot of ire.
That is one question that needs answering: After years of absence, in the face of a number of quality fan games, can Capcom still show they still got it? Only time will tell.

Legends 1 and 2 and MoTB all made the timeline trailer. If they'd omitted those, I'd have been really suspicious.

This raises another question- length: MM Classic games aren't known for being particularly long- about a couple hours if you know what you're doing. One more if they go the IV-VI routes of the "your final boss is in another castle" schtick.

Of course I'm happy. Just like with Metroid until Samus Returns released, going seven years (which will hit eight) without an official new release is painful. I'm glad they're trying something different. I thought Mega Man 10 was a better game than 9, but I'm definitely in the minority on that one. Whether it turns out well or not, I don't know, but I'm glad they're trying again. That's what matters here.
It'll either be a Switch or PS4 purchase from me here. Heard they were doing a physical release for this one, too, so it'll go along nicely with both Mega Man Legacy Collection games in that regard.

Remember the good old days when we'd see an article like this and all just jump on it foaming at the mouth and drooling? It kind of makes me want to make sure Mega Man 11 sells a lot of copies.

Capcom had better step up on their part regarding advertising. Word of mouth and the internet is good, but if the company making doesn't do the marketing (merchandise aside), it could undermine their efforts if sales are lacking because no one knows about it. Granted us older fans will keep the noise going, but the younger generation of gamers may find themselves not up to speed unless they already possess both Legacy Collections..

I chatted up some civilians today and none of them were even aware that MM11 was a thing. I'm not feeling too optimistic about Capcom's methods of advertising it if non-fandom people generally aren't aware.

If Capcom doesn't fix thier advertising schtick, we could be looking at "tree falling in the woods situation" , complete with no one around to hear the crash.
On the other hand, it's still early, and it's likely Capcom will wait until it gets closer to release time to start driving up hype. But that being said, Capcom and hype trains don't normally mix in recent years..

Swore i would but life gangbanged me. I hear others giving mixed reviews. Heard negatives from both Gilleum and BlueMetal so far, though BlueMetal just wants to try the switch version instead at this point. Others have said good things.
