Thanks for the remarks! There was a point that really the contest wasn't even on my mind and it was more that I just want to tell my history with the game. I almost ditched the rhyme scheme but I was too far ahead to go back. In the end I'm just glad you guys liked it!

All I can say is I followed a standard haiku format: three lines, and seventeen syllables. - any major changes does not make it a haiku. It's not easy to encapsulate five years of emotion into that kind of format.

Gee. always pointing out the same mistake. What is this MN9? XD Also I got weird stares from those two specific words when I spoke them out loud while trying to see if they rhymed. (Good thing nobody at home knows english)
So yeah I was just pushing it a liiiiiiiittle bit on that, but I really thought it was okay.
As I said before I was going for a short and simple thing in one short story. I thought that if I over-complicated it, it would only be bad for the final result. Good thing I didn't do it huh?

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly that last verse was awful, reading it back I totally see how it's really awkward and badly written compared to the rest of the piece. It's all a learning curve though, I guess! I was originally going to make it say "so that I could give him a kiss" but I felt like that would be weird, now I wish I just hadn't made it shippy at all. Kinda detracts from the emo thing.
Anyway, this was super fun, thanks again!! All the other entries were super cool and I had no idea there were so many creative ways to enter, makes me really wanna give it my all next time something's on!

Honestly, Alfie, if I were you I'd have just made the entire thing about shipping yourself with Volnutt and sprung for the cheese award. That gives me ideas for if there's ever an emo poetry contest around here that I'm eligible to enter. It's really Capcom's call. Possibly also Comcept's depending on how purist you are about it.

I honestly didn't expect to win anything, really. In fact, I was worried that no one would get what I was going for in terms of it being written by Tron and all. Thank you for your mercy, judges.
The scenario in my mind was that Tron was encouraged by Teisel to let out her feelings in some way, so she figured poetry was the way to do it. Most people let out their feelings with poetry, right? Hence why her insistence that Teisel shouldn't be shown her "finished project."
Anyway, I enjoyed reading through the other contest entries. I think I like Alfie's best. The perspective of a new fan was an interesting one, indeed.

Thanks for the feedback! Even though I didn't get any of the awards, I'm still very glad that I participated in this event and that I finished the poem in time. Sticking with the same meter was pretty hard and some words were forced into there, but I was still able to make it good.
Anyway, all the other poems were great and congrats to the winners!

Don't forget that everybody will still be getting a generic badge for participating as per our custom, so participating nets you an award in itself. Being a judge was difficult because of ensuring positive reinforcement and composing statements to not sound outright repetitive from entry to entry. I felt like I did a bad job. And I was the one who suggested Judge's commentary behind the scenes because we had a week. One final Bravo to all of the contestants and their effort to display the true dismay at the turn of events that befell the Legends series 5 years back. That much was certainly on-point for each entry. :')

The upside to an extended accidental hiatus is that you have ample time to make the prizes for the poetry contest! Poetic Post-MortemUntitledTron('s Reputation) is Dead Ironically, the prize for seriously good poetry ended up cheesier than the prize for cheese. Go figure. Also, feel free to edit the crap out of the Tron and Teisel one. It is the creativity prize after all, so getting creative is highly encouraged.

Sure, Teisel may tease his sister about it, but deep down inside, he is touched that she actually took his advice. He's never going to throw that piece of paper away.

Dashe... we still don't have the participation badges We know. fAB's gone on vacation for awhile, and he needs to upload the badges to the main site so that they're hosted properly before they can be distributed. It's why this thread's still an announcement. It'll get done eventually.
