Hey, so I just now noticed that it was common in the past for folks to make an intro when they first arrive at this forum. Late, but here goes...
Anyways, my name is Bryan James. I go by JamesOsyris anywhere online. I've been heavily into competitive FPS games but recently decided to abandon my Xbox One to play old favorites using an emulator on my phone. Megaman Legends was always a game I missed dearly, so it was my first choice.
I have never beaten MML2, but I am currently about 75 percent done. I feel like MML1 is a better game, so far.
NOT a fan of other Megaman games, though I played Megaman 2, 3 & 6 on NES.
Favorite games: Megaman Legends, Halo series, Spyro 1 2 & 3, Shadow of the Collossus, The Legend of Dragoon, Trials, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin trilogy and the Metroid Prime trilogy.

Welcome to MMLS! I think MML1 is the better game, too. Making one really detailed town that actually looks like it's moving along like a normal town that's facing a pirate threat seems to have worked better than making about four or five stock towns that you visit once and then generally don't go back and visit again.
I'm not a fan of the other games either. I made it through a lot of them and don't understand the hype, especially concerning Mega Man 2. Glad you're here, have some paperwork, and all that jazz. Also, it's really great to see you posting a lot. I like it when people post a lot.

This topic got buried. I had so meant to respond too. I agree that Legends 1 was most certainly the better game, but I'm just glad Legends 2 is there to continue the series, despite the meager answers it provides to questions raised in the first game. Things get more interesting than I certainly could ever imagine by the end of Legends 2. MoTB has some pretty interesting plot, but can be a bit grindy because of servbot training. (Servbots make MoTB pretty easy if you take the time to train them right. Otherwise, the game could be a nightmare.) I'm not a big fan of the other Megaman games either, although they have my respect. I have a small liking towards the X series because I see it as a bit easier as a whole than the rest of the series, but that could just be me. Even the X series has its doozy games though. Anyways, glad to have you on board! Enjoy your stay at the station!

Likewise, belated welcome to the station, jamesosyris! Gameplay-wise, I definitely enjoyed the second game more due to the smoother control scheme to allow easier stuntplay. Content-wise, however, the first game definitely wins due to the amount of time given to interact and get to know both the main and supporting cast. For contrast, some of the characters in the 2nd game seem to be 'just there' despite some of them having some decent potential if cast with a larger role. Accurately, the first game's Japanese tagline is "Can you remember your encounters with everyone?". As for other series in the franchise, I have enjoyed the X and Zero series the most for its "push player reflexes to the limit" gameplay.

I am happy to see that you all feel the same way as I do about the two main Legends games. The first one drew me in much more than the second. The second game moved along so quickly and lacked side missions.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Update: I beat MML2 yesterday for the first time. The final boss, was ridiculously difficult and I was thrown into that battle before I was able to refill my canteen. Nonetheless, it was a great ending. It took me a few YouTube videos and articles to understand the story. I think the story resembles a lot of religions, from Zen buddhism to Christianity. I really like that.
Overall, MML2 has better gameplay than the first. The underlying story is better too. However, MML1 had a better pace, better music, more side-missions and was more memorable to me. Perhaps it's because I am older now and less capableof becoming immursed in games.

Ah, right, the rules. Forgot to mention to read them. I knew I forgot something! Unless it's in your own art or project thread, in the fanworks area, double-posting's against them. I'll merge this one, but the edit button's pretty awesome and you can definitely make two and then copy and paste your old content into the new one to bump the thread for new content.

Legends 2 had the most refined gameplay, but Legends 1 was better in every other regard. We ought to do some sort of comprehensive study of both games. A bit like Egoraptor's Sequelitis series, but nowhere near as popular. Anyhoooooo! Welcome to MMLS, JamesOsyris. Looks like you've had no issue integrating yourself into the community so far. Good on you.
