I'm getting flashbacks to the unofficial IRC server we had going a few years ago. You gotta' understand that stuff like this works both ways and that an external "hangout" of sorts usually has its activity inversely proportionate to MMLS itself. Increased activity between members and the forum suffers in the meantime. It's a vicious circle, but what can you do? Not that I'm shooting down the idea, though. Do whatever y'all feel like.

I think part of the issue is that a live chat can stir up solidarity, even if it doesn't help forum usership. It keeps the community alive.
For the most part the forum only exists as an outlet to converse anyway, and most topics I've ever wanted to bring up, weren't enough to breach the "I have to start a thread, and then wait several hours for a response" wall.
That's a huge part of why I don't post more often. It's also not something that's going to change.
With a live-and-permanent chat or a game to play, it's much less effort, and therefore more likely to generate conversation.

I'm gonna +1 for Discord; the mobile app makes it WAY more accessible than the options that we've had in the past. As far as the topic goes, this place is far from dead. Considering the fact that Legends is a somewhat obscure series with only 3 games (one of which was extremely rare up until this past year), it's nothing short of amazing that we get the activity that we have now. It really does speak volumes about how well this place is organized. No, Dashe isn't paying me to say that.
