I like to repair/restore/mod game systems.
I’m going to post photos of some of them here.
Most of it’ll end up being Nintendo handhelds, because that’s what most people want from me (I run a small business custom-modding game systems and circuit-bending stuff for people. like 80% of what I do is commissioned), but you’ll eventually get to see some newer systems, older consoles, and maybe a few old electronic children’s toys.
Just a few Game Boys for now, though.

Starting off with this one, a commissioned system for the band Curious Quail.

This one's actually kind of funny. I recreated a super-rare limited edition Game Boy that was given away on a UK game show in the 80s and had one of my friends pass it off as the real thing on NintendoAge last April 1st. Even after revealing it to be a fake I was offered a decent amount of money for it, but it got lost during Greyhound transit last Christmas (along with 90% of my personal belongings, money, and presents for family. It SUCKED.)



This is one of my personal favorites. Backlight, transparent shell with case LEDs, PCB-mount prosound, and a variable clock which you can see in action here.


This one reached just over $7000 on eBay but got taken down 12 hours before the auction ended and I was perma-banned.

And last, here's one I'm particularly proud of at the moment, the Splatoon-themed Nintendo SquidKid.
I'm doing a limited run of 25 of these, each with a unique paintjob, new screen cover, backlit, and packed inside custom-designed paint can packaging along with a squid carrying pouch and a couple other goodies.

It's been raining all week so I haven't been able to paint everything I was planning to, but here's a Metal Mario Amiibo I did before the actual silver ones came out.

Been meaning to post the finished product for a while- this was a commission for the chipmusician Dream*Eater~
For the top half of the front and all of the backside I used Rustoleum Colorshift, which changes colors between black/blue/purple depending on the angle you look at it from, it looks AWESOME in person. While posting progress photos to Facebook and Tumblr I had a couple people ask me if I could make more than one, so I've got two more for sale (without the D*E on the backside, but otherwise identical).


I've been kicking around some ideas for a Legends-themed PSX and I think I may get started on it pretty soon...

Something more obviously Legends. That one could be any of them. A Reaverbot Eye would be more like what I'm thinking, or an Elysian PSX, or a Bonne themed one.

I'd personally like one of the "minor" main characters. Like Denise or Glyde. Actually, designing a full cast of PSX reskins might be a fun project.

Oh jeez, those painted buttons... But nah, I had something a bit more complicated in mind.
It may take a while to get anything worth showing put together, but I'll let you guys know once I've made some progress with it.
In the meantime, I've got a couple more Game Boys to post sometime later tonight or tomorrow afternoon, depending on how quickly I get them finished.
