I've just read about this on Protodude's site. I can't comment on the 3D since my visual impairment won't let me enjoy it, but I visited both the demo download page and the Youtube link, and found it very strange that the descriptions (which are in English) don't even say that it's a DASH/Legends fan game!

They might not want it to get sniped away by Capcom or anything before they can get a substantial build out. I mean, Capcom's been pretty good about this kind of thing, but they wouldn't be wrong to take at least a few precautions to lower their chances of getting slapped with a C&D order.

The only thing that would merit it would be if they made money off it. Other than that, Capcom is usually pretty cool with fanprojects.

C&D can be filed for any reason, including "Capcom representatives simply don't like that you made a reference to some obscure Capcom IP" The trick is, you can fight it in court, but if you lose, you pay their court fees, and they have hundreds of thousands of dollars to funnel into legal representation, that you most likely don't, and they WILL probably win simply on the grounds that you used some portion of their IP without express consent. Copyright law is broken like that. To sum up, anyone can file a C&D on you for no reason at all, and it can still become a big deal. (This is why Youtube removes all videos flagged as copyright violations, without checking the veracity)

I went to the Japanese blog to see if I could find out a bit more about the project, but the games don't seem to have an "about" page specifically for them or anything, and the information bits are scattered throughout the blog posts as developer notes. The most relevant things I was able to get from the site are that the "Treasure of Sky Pirates" game got listed on the fan games section of GMOTM's page, that it was inspired by the Flutter VS. Gesellschaft fight, and that the developer got a suggestion for the flying carrier game from a Zisaku DASH project member. The other blog posts seem to be mostly about the developer's struggles with 3D modeling and the Unity engine, with images and some bits of code showing progress. Although I didn't read the entire blog (I only looked through the first three pages), the demo page at Oculus Share seems to be the place with most information. At least it's the only place where I could find the explanation of the game controls . Copyright discussions aside, does anyone have any opinion about the game itself?

I feel the choice to make it 1st person just because its on Occulus Rift was a poor choice. You could do so much more with that kind of camera control mechanism... at least I assume you could. I suppose if the OR's camera is hard coded you couldn't... but that would make it a really worthless console.
