I feel as though it's my responsibility to fix this corner of the Forums, what with me royally fucking it up some years ago. Consider this as my first step to making it a better place.
[SYNOPSIS]
Let the games begin! With the completion of the world's first multipurpose arena, the 1st Annual Digger's Battle Tournament is underway. Be one of many contestants, all fighting off armies of Reaverbots in a contest to see who has the greatest skill among each other. Many prizes go to the victor of this grand sport, such as a three million Zenny cash prize and the honour of being crowned "King of Diggers." So go! Fight on, for fame, for fortune, for glory!
[ROLES]
Diggers aren't the only ones who'll be getting all the fun here. That's right, your goal depends on your role, and here are a few options you could choose from.
You're not limited to just these options, you know. Feel free to be whatever you wish!
[LOCATIONS]
If you don't have a map, you're bound to get lost. We don't want that happening, so here are some quick explanations of major locations where the story will be taking place.
<<DENSETSU ISLAND>>
With such a massive event, you'll need an equally massive place to host it, and Densetsu Island is one such location. This fairly large island boasts a fine balance between its natural forests and man-made cities, and is a worldwide centre of commerce, both foreign and domestic. As such, there's guaranteed to be something of interest to anybody, be they locals or tourists.
<KAIGAN CITY> {A - B}
On the southeast corner of the Island is this busy port city. Because majority of immigrants settle here first rather than in other cities, it has become a melting pot of cultures. Not a single day passes by that one doesn't see the streets abound with the bustle and hustle of people rushing to get to work, home, or other places along the way.
<SAIKUTSU CITY> {C - E}
Not necessarily a city, so much as it is a mining site within a rocky crater located in the northeast region of the Island. The area is popular with miners, prospectors, and spelunkers alike. Only three major components make up this "city" in its entirety.
<AIR DOCKS> {F}
As Densetsu's community grew, these Airship docks were built along the northern road that connects Saikutsu City and Saikoro City. A single docking space could hold an Airship as large as thirty-five metres in width.
<SAIKORO CITY> {G - K}
The glow of vivid neon signs and bright searchlights from this entertainment-focused city make the northwestern region of Densetsu a beacon for those who seek out the thrill of gambling, the excitement from dance parties, and the overall fun that comes bundled with the nightlife.
<SOUDAI CITY> {L - M}
Not every city in Densetsu is focused solely on business. This small, quaint southwestern town is known only for its museum and, more prominently, a unique landmark that really puts it on the map. Aside from that, there is very little else that it has to offer.
<CENTRAL CITY> {N - R}
Considered the home of international trade, this capital city is situated in the heart of Densetsu Island. Because it's such a critically important location, its tight security includes constant government monitoring, active military soldiers on duty 24/7, and a massive octagonal wall that isolates the city from the rest of the Island. The city is so large that it is divided into five Districts, each of which serve a different purpose.
<<FIRMAMENT COLOSSEUM>>
As stated previously, Firmament is the world's first airborne multipurpose Colosseum. Using improved hardlight technology, the arena can simulate any number of environments and conditions. To celebrate Firmament's completion, the Densetsu Union holds the first annual Digger's Battle Tournament within its walls.
[RULES]
Not many, really. Use common sense, abide by Forum Rules, etc. All characters are welcome, be they Canon or Original. Participating Diggers will have light limitations and restrictions placed on their firepower and equipment to ensure a fair fight. After all, it'd be boring if you can just Shining Laser your way though everything like it's nobody's business. If you think a planned action will violate any rules in place, bring it up in the OOC Thread or in a PM and I'll tell whether or not it's a good idea to go along with.
Now that all that mess is out of our way, let's do this the right way this time, and let the games begin!

<DIGGER>
Enter in the Digger's Battle Tourney! Fight your way to the top of the ranks, struggle for your rights to wear the crown, and earn your place in history as the best of the best!
<MECHANIC>
A Digger would be lost without the their trusted equipment, and the person who keeps it in top working condition. Grab your tools and show everybody what you're capable of!
<PIRATE>
What a haul! So much loot that's ripe for the picking! Find out where they're hiding the Tourney prizes, and make off with as much as you can if not everything they have!
<CIVILIAN>
Life's too boring! If you want to spice things up, this event could be well worth your time and Zenny. Who knows, maybe you can even meet with somebody potentially famous.

-KAIGAN DOCKS-
Because of the sheer rock faces that make up the Island's coasts, these concrete docks are the only way into and out of the Island by aquatic means. Here, boats of all sizes can be seen floating idly as sailors, merchants, and tourists go about their business.
-KAIGAN PLAZA-
This circular plaza in the centre of Kaigan gives access to all the major streets that run through the city. The most prominent feature in the plaza is its central fountain, with a design that mimics Reaverbot architecture so well, it almost looks as though the Ancients themselves crafted it.

-DENSETSU MINES-
An expansive, multilevel network of tunnels that run deep underground. Within the bedrock, rare and unique metal ores exclusively found on Densetsu can be dug up. The mining site on the surface takes up the vast majority of Saikutsu.
-YOUSHA HOSPITAL-
Accidents are bound to happen in hazardous work areas such as the mines. If anybody within them so happen to incur an injury, this conveniently placed hospital is here to offer medical services ranging from simple bandaging, to prosthetic replacements for lost limbs.
-KAISAKU HOTEL-
Since there there isn't much room for housing to be built, this large, multistory hotel provides lodgings and complimentary breakfast for everybody staying in Saikutsu, especially to those who consider the place their home.

-EDGE CASINO-
With seven lavishly decorated floors filled to the brim with table games and slot machines as far as the eye can see, it's no wonder the Edge Casino is the most successful in the city. Despite its lack of negative publicity in the media, grapevine gossip says the proprietor is a brutally harsh and prideful individual who is especially pitiless to those with debts to pay to him.
-CLUB ACE-
Although it appears to be a rather typical night club, experienced partygoers consider it to be far superior to all the others in the city. Reasons as to why include the great quality of the bar drinks, the excellent variety of songs, and the music mixing skills of the proprietor of Club Ace, DJ AC-3 herself.
-VV PLAZA-
The latest major addition to the city, this circular, tent-like building serves as a unique arcade whose games are not the traditional cabinets. Instead, players can finally place themselves in their avatar's shoes, thanks to the prototype Virtual Verity technology used to produce some of the Island's hottest new games like Strobo-ScopeTM and TerritoryTM.
-THE LUCKY HARE-
A somewhat obliquitous casino that is notorious not because it's also the city's foremost strip club, but because rumour has it that its proprietor is nothing short of a complete moron. The only evidence against this rumour is that with the way the business is managed, it is almost on par with the Edge Casino in terms of total net profit. That, and the fact that they are still doing business.
-YUTAKA HOTEL-
After spending a long night of playing games and dancing wildly, one can check into one of the luxurious rooms that this expensive eight-star hotel is known for. That is, not before they have a taste of the excellent cuisine that is served in the Yutaka Diner. Once you're well-rested, guests could spend the day away at the casino-themed swimming pools before heading out to town for a night of games and dancing.

Not every city in Densetsu is focused solely on business. This small, quaint southwestern town is known only for its museum and, more prominently, a unique landmark that really puts it on the map. Aside from that, there is very little else that it has to offer.
-REKISHI MUSEUM-
A number of exhibits are featured here, such as a myriad of various artifacts uncovered from Digs and dioramas of what Ancient society was like according to historical research. The exhibits have been on display for years, and will remain so for the future generations to see.
-CRASHED TOWER-
Strange markings cover the outside of this mysterious black structure, whose architecture has lead many to speculate its origins to be the same as the Ruins and Reaverbots. The large mounds of dirt at its base and the angle which it leans at are the basis of the theory that it arrived by falling from the sky.

The city is so large that it is divided into five Districts, each of which serve a different purpose.
-EAST DISTRICT-
The only gate into Central City is located in the front of this small commercial zone, which is home to Main Street. Plenty of well-known, commonplace stores are lined up and down Main Street, and a handful of small roads fork off from it leading to other, much lesser-known shops in the District.
-SOUTH DISTRICT-
A concrete jungle of corporate buildings reach for the skies within this commercial zone, where some of the world's leading businesses have placed regional branches. Expect to see some of your favourite shops integrated into the first floors of these towering skyscrapers.
-WEST DISTRICT-
Identical houses are neatly organised in a grid-like pattern within this residential zone. Further back in the District are the more stately manors, with an especially extravagant mansion being the pinnacle of the neighbourhood.
-NORTH DISTRICT-
Only authorised personnel are allowed anywhere past the gates that lead into this industrial zone. Even when restricted to a distance of no less than two metres from the gates, one can still clearly see the multitude of factories that are responsible for producing some of the world's most sought-after exports.
-CENTRAL DISTRICT-
At the core of Central City lies a District with a plaza that is the entire District itself. The focal point of this plaza, as well as the entire city, is the Clock Citadel, a monumental clock tower whose architecture represents the level of technological advancement that Densetsu Island has achieved thanks to the tireless work of its Mechanics and Engineers.

To celebrate Firmament's completion, the Densetsu Union holds the first annual Digger's Battle Tournament within its walls.
-DOCKING BAY-
As a precaution against Pirates and other unauthorised entry, in order to get to and from Firmament, contestants, spectators, and staff will take sky buses from the Island's air docks. The lobby comes equipped with souvenir shop, snack bar, and multiple fast food eateries.
-DORMITORIES-
Contestants and their supporting crew members are given a dormitory, complete with two bunk beds, kitchen, mechanic's workshop, and most importantly, two bathrooms.
-ARENA-
The arena itself is the main attraction, measuring 200 metres in diameter. Underneath the metal floors, five massive hardlight projectors simulate a wide variety of environments for combatants to face their foes in. Multiple smaller projectors are what give the arena detail and flexibility.
-BLEACHERS-
The thirty-row bleachers run around the arena's circumference, and can hold a maximum occupancy of nineteen thousand spectators. Each individual seat is assigned an ID number for seating arrangement purposes, and your chance to win the Sit & Win lotto event.
-OBSERVER'S RING-
The Observer's Ring is a luxurious dining area located below the bleachers where one can spectate battles at the same height as the combatants, or have fantastic scenic views of Densetsu Island and Terra's expansive ocean.
-BROADCAST BOOTH-
As this separate structure floats several metres above the arena, our two announcers, Diego Sansford and Katie Leenah, provide lively commentary for the tournament. It also serves as an eight-screen jumbotron for the audience in the bleachers below.
-ADMIN CENTRE-
The entire event is managed from this restricted-access area, where a team of professional technicians work to monitor and operate Firmament's systems. The Administrator orchestrates the event from here to ensure that everything goes without error.
