What situation or thing about you makes other people go "Uh, hang on, could you explain that again?" My own coming after I figure it out myself.

My taste in music. For expedience's sake, "show tunes" is generally accurate, but I judge pretty much every song I listen to on its own merits. If I decide I like a few songs by Rick Astley, I find it weird to say that I like Rick Astley in general. I mean, he doesn't get a free buy from me every time he releases a song. Which means saying I like or dislike entire genres is even less accurate. It's just...very not average. I don't even think Pandora could summarize my taste in music efficiently.

My taste in music. [...] If I decide I like a few songs by Rick Astley, I find it weird to say that I like Rick Astley in general. I mean, he doesn't get a free buy from me every time he releases a song. I think I'm the same way. My "long story short" genre choice is 80s pop, but it's hardly the only thing I listen to, enjoy, sing along to in the car, etc., and not everything between 1980 and 1990 gets a free pass in my book. The idea of having a favourite artist, a favourite album, or buying up an entire discography over an artist's career seems very odd unless I found a large percentage of the songs to be more than just 'listenable'. I certainly don't mind hearing 'listenable' pieces on the radio or here and there, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money owning copies just so I could have a copy of a particular album's one or two great songs. I suppose that's why the vast majority of my CD collection is hits collections.
No one takes me seriously the first time I tell them how much I eat. I assuming that heavy-set people aren't as upfront and honest about diet, so I'm the first person to out and out say I make dietitians cry. They usually get it when they have a visual demonstration.

I'm kind of in my own world. People think that just means I'm tuning them out, but I just do things at my own pace. It's why I'll disappear or be quiet randomly for days at a time on here and even in real life, I'm just sort of there. I don't know how to explain it, really.

I am naturally a quiet person, yet many people believe that I am shy and withdrawn. When I have something to say, I would talk a lot.

I'm very emotional. I feel a lot of anxiety and stress from having pranks or jokes played on me, to the point where people actively ask me if I even have a sense of humor. I guess I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve all the time, and I take things a lot more personally than most people do.
