Hi! I already posted a few things, but I didn't introduce myself, so... I'm Aiyumi. I'm Brazilian, and granddaughter of Japanese. I can speak Portuguese (my native language), some English and some Japanese. I'm visually impaired since a short time after my birth. Until around 2004, my vision was enough for me to play games (rather badly, but at least it was something ), and draw anime and game characters if I looked at them while staying really close to the TV. I remember being able to draw MegaMan Volnutt, Servbots and Data (never became able to draw Roll) before my last surgery, which had high chances of success... But it failed, making my vision nearly useless. Since them, I became unable to draw, and now the only game I can play acceptably is Pokemon, because it has a lot of sound feedback. For other games, I have to rely on other people's playthroughs, written walkthroughs and wikis to understand the plot. For using the computer, thankfully there are screen reader software (which speak everything that's on the screen). In 2009, I graduated in "Systems Analysis and Development Technology" (I think that's it, I don't know the right name in English). Currently I'm working as a programmer at a small company. I also took piano lessons for a while (not enough to become good at it ), but had to stop after I got my job. I'm a Mega Man fan since 2001, when a friend introduced me to Mega Man X5, and also Mega Man Legends. After learning a lot about all Mega Man Series, I even made a fan site in Brazilian Portuguese called "Brazilrockman.net". It doesn't exist anymore, but that was what got me into programming. That's my job now, so basically, today I'm a programmer thanks to Mega Man! I can't play the games anymore, but I still have fond memories of them, which I'll probably be using in future fan fictions... I think those are the main points. I'm more of a reader and usually don't post much on the forums I join, but I hope to have a good time here. Edit: just for the record, my computer operating system of choice is Linux, and I program in Perl.

Hi Aiyumi, how are you doing? Welcome to MMLS! Gimme a second to switch to Portuguese mode. *ahem* And now back to English. Have a nice stay and don't let the other users scare you. They are rowdy but they have good hearts

Welcome to MMLS! I run the show around here. I like Broadway musicals and sitcoms, so it's only logical that I'm running a forum about a video game series, right? I'm writing a fanfic, too. Normally I like writing short comedies, but this time I decided to go do something completely different and wrote a really long one in the grossly underappreciated angst/adventure genre. As far as Legends stuff goes, I've done song parody, animation, voice acting, all sorts of different art approaches...I suppose you could call it "recklessly jumping around different types of fan media with no expectation of success whatsoever." Systems Analysis and Development Technology sounds right, I think. It sounds like something that'd result in a programming job, at least. That'd probably explain why most of your English is really good--you mess up one little thing when you code and sometimes the results turn into a real mess! Speaking of messes, since paperwork's probably not your thing, you can help Pwn clean the swimming pool with a toothbrush to work off your registration debt. Our paperwork's color coded. Then again, we don't really spend too much time going over new registrants' paperwork, so you could probably get away with scribbling all over every sheet at random and turning that in. We wouldn't notice. Actually, since Pwn seems to still be working on the pool, the paperwork might go a little faster. Your call!

Welcome to MMLS. Nice to know there's another Japanese speaker (and web dev!) here. I have heard your recent audio drama, and I am interested in hearing more soon. On the forums, I am most active in discussions about games and creative sections (albeit not very often, though I check on the forums frequently). Most of my free time is spent building PCs, programming, and drawing (which in the case of the latter two and thanks to the support of some MMLS regulars, eventually led to this WIP). Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your works here! That website "Brazilrockman.net" though, it sounds oddly familiar to me. I got the feeling that I have come across it before.

Hi, MegaTuga! *Goes into Portuguese mode* Se o meu nick não o fez óbvio, eu sou português. De Portugal. XD Sim, eu percebi. Mas já tinha recebido uma dica, já me contaram que tinha um português aqui! É um prazer conhecer alguém aqui no fórum que partilhe a minha lingua materna de uma maneira ou outra. O prazer é meu! Muito obrigada pelasboas vindas! *Returns to English mode* Have a nice stay and don't let the other users scare you. They are rowdy but they have good hearts Okay, I'll keep that in mind.
Dashe, As far as Legends stuff goes, I've done song parody, animation, voice acting, all sorts of different art approaches...I suppose you could call it "recklessly jumping around different types of fan media with no expectation of success whatsoever." I liked your voice acting as Volnutt in that Five Island Adventure subtitling project . I found out about that project too late... I keep thinking that I could have done a Servbot. Systems Analysis and Development Technology sounds right, I think. It sounds like something that'd result in a programming job, at least. Or maybe a Mother Unit's assistant job? Can you imagine that? A blind Servbot working analyzing and developing things for the System... That'd probably explain why most of your English is really good--you mess up one little thing when you code and sometimes the results turn into a real mess! Thank you! And that's what got me fascinated with programming! I had thought that it was something from another world, but the "higher level" programming languages are actually "English!" I was like "Wait, did I get this right? I write some English text and it turns into a computer program! ? That's magic!" Speaking of messes, since paperwork's probably not your thing, you can help Pwn clean the swimming pool with a toothbrush to work off your registration debt. Our paperwork's color coded. Ah! Always this paperwork! And always color coded! I can't see the colors! Miss Tron rejected me because I'm a blind Servbot! And when I tried to apply for Mother Unit's assistant in Elysium, I couldn't get past the forms too! Um... Well... Cleaning the pool with a toothbrush will have to do, I guess. XD
HF, Welcome to MMLS. Nice to know there's another Japanese speaker (and web dev!) here. A Japanese speaker! Yes ! And programmer! In which language(s) do you program? I was into web development in PHP and knew some basic C++, but since I got my job I'm dealing almost exclusively with Perl, and I think I forgot nearly everything about the others. I have heard your recent audio drama, and I am interested in hearing more soon. And heard my audio drama! Great! *jumps in joy* Someone that actually understands Japanese heard it! I also have two Pokemon ones if you're interested. It's also based on a fanfic, but I think the first one ("Ghetsis' True Plans") can be understood without needing to read the story first. That website "Brazilrockman.net" though, it sounds oddly familiar to me. I got the feeling that I have come across it before. This got me surprised. It wasn't popular or anything. But yes, you might have...
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm already having fun!

A Japanese speaker! Yes ! And programmer! In which language(s) do you program? I was into web development in PHP and knew some basic C++, but since I got my job I'm dealing almost exclusively with Perl, and I think I forgot nearly everything about the others. I used mostly crude scripting languages (such as ActionScript), Java, and C# during college. Though the development-related part of my current job relies mostly on PHP and SQL (in addition to the typical HTML, CSS, JS, etc.), which I've found more practical for what I've been doing up to now. I've also touched on some Basic at one point, though I hardly remember any of it now. My only nitpick is Juno's choice of words; one of his biggest character's key features is that he speaks using words not often used in conversation and his pattern of speech is almost as if in riddles. From the audio drama, Juno seemed awfully direct for someone who has supposedly no emotion, and jumped right into his aggressive Phase 2 state from the game. But again it's small fault finding, otherwise it's a good start! As for how I come about using Japanese (if anyone's curious?), I do translations for content localization of various products (among other things) so I find myself using it daily. I guess it's become a bit of a force-of-habit thing for me. I noticed them on your blog. I'll give those a listen shortly! Most of my early discoveries after obtaining Internet was browsing plenty of Rockman-related websites, so it won't be unlikely that I've come across it at one point. Derailing a little, there's also another DASH-dedicated website which had plenty of translated content from the Japanese dev team's site including staff doodles and in-depth content comparisons (such as the DASH 2 demo). It was also what pushed me into getting the games (I didn't have much access to games at the time), so it meant quite a bit to me. I was wondering if you may recall something like that as well...?

I used mostly crude scripting languages (such as ActionScript), Java, and C# during college. Ugh! Me too! I was taught VB.NET in college. How I hated it... My only nitpick is Juno's choice of words; one of his biggest character's key features is that he speaks using words not often used in conversation and his pattern of speech is almost as if in riddles. Yes, my limited Japanese vocabulary is to blame, for the most part. That'll probably happen with Sera, too. So... Um... May I request some help? From the audio drama, Juno seemed awfully direct for someone who has supposedly no emotion, and jumped right into his aggressive Phase 2 state from the game. After his defeat, I can see him going straight to Phase 2. As for how I come about using Japanese (if anyone's curious?), I do translations for content localization of various products (among other things) so I find myself using it daily. I guess it's become a bit of a force-of-habit thing for me. Interesting. Hmm, I know there's Kobun #20's blog. Very interesting translations in there.

I liked your voice acting as Volnutt in that Five Island Adventure subtitling project Thanks! You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get cast in that role in a project that made it onto the internet. I've been able to do that Legends 1 Mega Man voice since before Legends 2 was out. Needless to say sitting around with the English dub listening to Susan Roman completely miss the mark and knowing I could do a better job without even trying too hard wasn't very fun. She made a good Mayor Amelia, though, so I can't fault her too much. I found out about that project too late... I keep thinking that I could have done a Servbot. If I ever have a project in need of a Servbot, I'll let you know where the auditions are. It'd be remiss of me to just go, "Yeah, you can be a Servbot" without hearing your Servbot impression first, since I actually got cast as every Servbot for 5-island too and had to turn it down due to time constraints, but if I've got one thing going for me, it's that once I start something it gets finished, and I am very loud when it comes to announcing stuff. ]Or maybe a Mother Unit's assistant job? Can you imagine that? A blind Servbot working analyzing and developing things for the System... I can imagine a lot of things, so yes. Yes I can. And I think you should write a fic about that when you're done! A Servbot working in the system would probably have a lot of choice things to say about Elysian coffee. XD Fantastic! If you manage to clean the whole thing, we'll be able to convert it into another furnace to burn the excess paperwork and restore power to the public restrooms! Everyone'll be able to flush again! You know how people these days get when it comes to swimming pools, anyway. They all show up with their pockets full of electronics and sit around it all day. We're better off using the square footage for cheap power. And...I hate to mention this, but if while you're cleaning out the pool you find anything of value, it would mean a lot to us if you could donate it to help with the restoration of the RP section. Thank you again, and be sure and wear a gas mask down there!

I got some help to pick an avatar. Anyway... If I ever have a project in need of a Servbot, I'll let you know where the auditions are. Okay! ]Or maybe a Mother Unit's assistant job? And...I hate to mention this, but if while you're cleaning out the pool you find anything of value, it would mean a lot to us if you could donate it to help with the restoration of the RP section. I took a look at the RP section. It was pretty quiet... Thank you again, and be sure and wear a gas mask down there! A gas mask? ... It's sounding more and more dangerous... But that's the kind of task that Servbots are made for, right? I know I'm a bit late to jump on the bandwagon, but anyway: Bem-vinda ao Legends Station! Thank you. Dashe, is this Pwn the one?

Welcome Aiyumi to MMLS! After everything everyone else has said... I've got almost nothing. I can't pepper my welcome with Portuguese; I only code in Javascript and BASIC; and Dashe seems to have taken care of the paperwork situation... ...I can say that according to the University of Campinas, they call it the "Technologist Degree in System Analysis and Development", so that was a fairly faithful translation above. Looking at the topic matter on the page, it seems like a "Systems and Database Administration" comp-sci degree.

Oh! Yes, I think that's it. Thank you for finding the correct name . Edit: Looking at the topic matter on the page, it seems like a "Systems and Database Administration" comp-sci degree. It's more like a "highly compressed" version of that.

Mmm. Ahem! Meu ofício pairando está cheio de enguias!Hopefully that got the message across! I'll spare you the lecture, seeing as it'll give ya' less to respond to. Heya, Aiyumi! Welcome to MMLS, yadda, yadda, yadda. Mind your step if you're deciding to enter the RP boards. There are plenty of plot holes that'd warrant a tripping hazard!
