The game's coming out this month, and there's no discussion thread for it. This is pathetic. I KNOW a lot of you guys are picking one of these up! I've been on the fence since I found out about the trainer customization options and other language options, but ultimately I think I'm gonna pass on this gen again. I'd have to buy a 3DS. I don't feel like buying a 3DS. Maybe if I came into possession of a 3DS through some random circumstance I'd get it. I mean, the A button on my DS Lite has lost its give, but it still works. You guys all excited for it or what?

Eh. I'll probably end up buying the Y-Chromosome, but it'll more than likely be during the Christmas period. Pokemon games have always been something I'd play whenever I had to sleep over at my grandparent's house as a kid. Given their status as excellent timesinks, being on a portable system, and the turn-based battles allowing me to causally converse with others without coming across as a standoffish asshat, it's only natural I'd keep a new Gen handy.

So the game's out now, did anyone here pick it up yet?

I wanted to buy Y, but I can't. It's the downside of being broke. Maybe by the time they announce a third 6th Gen game, I'll get a 3DS and said game.

For once, I don't think I'll be going all "omgbeatitwithin3daysofitsreleasedate" 'cause I also expect it to have a steep pricetag. Oh look. $39.99. I couldn't have been any more right. I lack spare stable money for it. Maybe for Christmas, then I can beat it (champion) before the year ends. Sound good Dashe?

There! I caved! I bought it, Dashe. I bought it! Happy now?! Happy?! It's actually pretty fun. It's a shame my first rival sent out a Grass-type Pokemon when I chose Fire. She's Too Dumb To Live, guys.

I lack spare stable money for it. Unsurprisingly, the price for the games were jacked up big time from its retail price when it arrived here. Didn't stop me from doing a quick purchase run for the guys at work though. I like how the minor details have been added to the game in terms of world interaction. Subtle tilting of head as you walk past people and signs, kneeling down when speaking to small Pokémon or people, and so on. Also, pandas:

I actually plan to purchase Pokémon Y Version, but my funds are pretty much down the drain. Until I get enough cash, only one question will haunt me. "What the hell is with Goomy!?" I mean, the thing is everywhere I look when X/Y is mentioned. What's special about it, I haven't a clue. Is it because the design is so ridiculously simple that it's genius? Perhaps it has some sort of Ability or Move that it's practically gamebreaking? Whatever it is, I'm not touching a Wiki Page about the damn thing. Maybe somebody here can enlighten me on it. And by enlighten, I don't mean drag me into one of the thousands of Church of Goomy Facebook Groups that are popping up like a horde of Diglett.

I'm actually surprised most of MMLS is broke/waiting. My facebook feed is almost all people giving each other their friend codes and talking about Pokemon.

After eight hours of gameplay, I finally made it past the second gym! Granted, I spent at least two hours getting my A-Team into proper fighting condition, only to get EXP Share immediately after my individual grinding was complete... HF was kind enough to donate a Charmander to my cause, too! Thanks, pal. Now I'm absolutely split about whether to keep my Gen-6 Fire Starter, or my Gen-1 Fire Starter.

Kyle: Just don't over-level it without the right badges, or it would just end in frustration. Felt silly about mixed up the natures of one Golurk; all I wanted is to have this scene:

That system sure does have so much room for abuse, doesn't it?

Honestly, even if you're getting scammed or being the scammer, somebody is going to get a new Pokedex entry. I'm certain that's why the majority of people are even bothering with Wonder Trade to begin with.
That being said, I was lucky enough to receive a Houndour. Pretty good deal, considering that I'm playing Y, and you can only find them in the wild on X.

Honestly, even if you're getting scammed or being the scammer, somebody is going to get a new Pokedex entry. The kind of selfish thinking you're calling out is exactly why the paranoid 'people' are part of the problem, and why we just can't have nice things these days. Many languages to add aside, the only real mentality I have when I mass miracle trade with quite literally zero worry is simple because I have reserves. If I wanted anything specific, I would have just went with the Global Trade System.
