He'll be in the game, but I don't think he'll be a playable character sadly. This goes for all the Mega Men in the Final Smash. Yeah I know. Those were suppose to be two different statements but I can see how that's confusing. I'm hoping that the regular MM character can be de-helmeted. If you watch his announcement trailer his silhouette is initially of hs hair and then he puts the helmet on. I saw that not only as a Legends reference but also a possible costume.

I only have one thing to say. Stop thinking of this as a Megaman game. It's a mascot-based fighting game with Megaman in it. He's not going to control like he does in his games; he's going to use adapted controls for ringing out opponents and lowering stock, the main goal of Smash Bros. games (disregarding matches with Damage counters). I like the fact he can't store his charged shot, because it forces you to think aggressively and be on the attack instead of playing it safe and shooting people from a distance, and that's the way Smash Bros. matches are usually fought: aggressively. I apologize if that comes off as a bit blunt, but the conversation irked me. On the plus side, my favorite Kalos starter made it in! I'm going to wail on Pikachu with Water Shuriken until the heat death of the universe now. And maybe that stupid Charizard too. I'm fairly sure Greninja could beat its Mega Evolution. (If this were a Pokemon game, however, I'd go with Swampert to fight a Mega Charizard X. Put that Muddy Water, Surf, Earthquake and Bulldoze to good use. )

Really, they'd be stupid not to include a good majority of his weapons from Megaman 2. Like it or not, MM2's easily the most popular game in the series, and having attacks from that game gives the character more familiarity with the casual fan base. Why choose a load of more obscure weapons when you can go with stuff like Metal Blades and Leaf Shield which will get more people hype when they watch the trailers. Marketing 101. Also, Leaf Shield blows the pants off of Water Shield as a defensive weapon. They should've gone with Jewel Satellite for maximum brokenness.

Our Megaman is in this? Wow! That...almost...makes me want to change my plans to sell this useless hunk of plastic called a Wii U.
Almost.
Don't get me wrong, I do really want this game, but the problem is that I ONLY want this game. Other than SSB, there is not one Wii U exclusive that appeals to me at all. I can't justify keeping a $350 paper weight sitting around for the sole purpose of playing one game, so away it must go.

Everybody is tsundere for Nintendo. It's just a question of time before we all play it.

I'm confused as to what you got the Wii U for then when it's had an okay schedule of games from Nintendo. It's the third-party stuff that's really been lacking, but that's a problem that has been plaguing every device lately to me. Eh, you do what you have to do. The game is coming out on the 3DS as well if you own that one. I'll probably be getting both versions myself. Anyway, I loved seeing that Final Smash move pay homage to most of the franchise. Obviously Zero and ZX got the shaft for being more Zero related, but that's cool. Five Mega Men are better than one, and I'm just glad this one is being done by a company that seems to respect the IP.

I got it mainly because I always get the Nintendo console because Nintendo usually delivers, but it's not. No one outside of Nintendo is developing anything promising for the Wii U and Nintendo's lineup so far has been incredibly disappointing. The quality of their games has been slipping. Sure, they're well-made, but they lack soul or originality. I guess when I bought the Wii U I didn't realize how tired of Nintendo I was.

Hmm, fair enough. I usually put soulless games and Sony together myself! I know I'll be getting this one twice down the road. It's just how I roll.

Does Sony actually make games for their consoles? And even though I am not at all loyal to any particular company, I'll say that the PS3 had games that actually tried to be original or interesting. Some failed, some succeeded, but that's more than I can say for anything that Nintendo released on the Wii.
I mean, even this game is the same old same old. I want to play it, but it's still another example of Nintendo doing almost exactly the same thing again with better graphics. There are a lot of things like that (Call of Duty) on the other consoles, but at least you get the occasional unique standalone game on those. Nintendo just releases the same few games again and again in every console generation. What was the last new IP Nintendo even created?

If you want to know, there have been plenty. Whether they're your cup of tea or not is another thing, but:
Xenoblade, Endless Ocean, Flingsmash, Nintendogs, the entire Wii series, Nintendo Land, The Wonderful 101 (They own the IP, Platinum made the game), Fluidity, Elite Beat Agents, Tomodachi, Art Academy, HarmoKnight, FreakyForms, Dillon, Sakura Samurai, and Steel Diver.
Honestly, I'm not going to argue the relevance of some of these titles, but I think what Nintendo does better than any company is that they'll take these characters from their big IPs, most notably Mario and Kirby, and plug them into different styles of games. Canvas Curse sure doesn't play like Return to Dream Land, nor does 3D World play like Galaxy or Kart or whatever. Kid Icarus: Uprising could have been its own IP, but it plays way differently than the first two games that it's practically new anyway. You know what I mean?

I've never even heard of most of those, and the ones that I have heard of aren't really what I'm talking about. Games like Nintendogs, Endless Ocean, or Art Gallery are just...fluff. They're interesting, but they have little creative value. You can poke a dog, swim with fish, and, presumably, draw things in those games, but where's the heart, the creativity? Where's the proof that someone at Nintendo actually had the passion to make something new and truly innovative? Where's Nintendo's The Last of Us?
And I do know what you mean, I just don't agree that it's a good thing. As far as I'm concerned, it dilutes those properties. After you've seen Kirby get used so many different ways, why should you even be interested in that character anymore? Where's the consistency, what's the point of him? You can only imagine how I feel about Mario. And I would disagree that Mario 3D World didn't play like Galaxy. Or 64, Sunshine, etc. New enemies, new stage features, slightly different play styles per character aside, what is really that different at the core of the experience? It looked gorgeous, it was fun for a time, but when I finished it, I was ultimately left unsatisfied because it was just more generic Mario.
Nintendo can throw in all the gimmicks it wants, make all the little tweaks it wants, pimp its beloved characters out as much as it can, but the core experience of these games is not changing significantly. And I honestly wouldn't have a problem with that IF that wasn't also true for the story and characters. There is just nothing for me to care for. And don't you tell me it's unreasonable to want good characters and plot from Mario, because Paper Mario did it and that is one of my favorite games of all time. Definitely my favorite Mario game. You want to see what I expect from these games? Go play that.

I have to admit, the commentator on this video got me laughing. But oh man, the Final Smash looks very good. And notice all the Megaman posters in the audience.

All this and no mention of Palutena, Pac Man, and the Miis joining the fray? But in all seriousness, I am looking forward to character customizations for what I presume is for Local Play.
