In case any of you don't pay attention to that lil' newsreel at the top of the page, MMLS and GMOTM are now 100% affiliated with one another. Honestly, I think this is a pretty one-sided deal. MMLS stands to gain dozens of new souls and slave labour for the taking, whilst GMOTM only gets somebody who'll occasionally show up to its house parties. Still. I, for one, welcome this partnership and hope that it'll bear fruit in the near future.

I half-expected that coming from Chiz, really. But I do like the idea of seeing more folks come here, should they decide to come.

I always thought that, to get more users, the admins should scout for them instead of just waiting for them to appear and trying to keep them active. However, aligning with GMOTM... Let's just say that pros do exist, but serious cons exist too... Well, that's my take on it. Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself and this might be good. I'll just wait and see how all of this turns out.
EDIT: Though I always thought that Tuttle's Legendary Travels was considered THE Legends Station affiliation to GMOTM. I guess it was not direct enough.

I'm willing to bet that the two admins of MMLS are a little preoccupied with their own personal matters to actually have the spare time to scour the internet for a new userbase. Also, try being a little more welcoming to GMOTM. Kinda rude to say that there's "serious cons" with having a more open relationship with 'em off the bat.

I guess you are right. I shouldn't make any prejudgements, especially before meeting any new users. After all, everyone is different. (I know the admins are busy. I just mentioned that because Dashe seemed to keep searching for ways to increase activity. I still appreciate all of the free work they input in administrating the forums and fAB's dedication to his fangame, among other things.)

...Do I really look like the sort of person who looks like they want to spend every waking minute trying to cold-sell a forum for an obscure game series to strangers at the expense of any professional or social life offline? Persistent cold-calling just isn't my cup of tea. I'm personally hoping that this affiliation'll bring a much-needed splash of optimism to MMLS.
That aside, keep that respect rule we've got posted up in Rules & Introductions in mind when dealing with newbies. And anybody else, for that matter.

That's "SketchMan3". Capital S, capital M and the number 3. It's official (nicknames are ok, though)

So where has GMOTM been all this time that they have some type of reputation? I didn't even know it was an organized group of people who interact regularly with each other. Do they have a forum somewhere? Well, I assume they don't since we're supposed to be getting new forum members here. Anyway, it'll be interesting. It'll be nice to have some more activity around here. I don't know enough about the active GMOTM community to not want an affiliation. I honestly thought there was some kind of positive relationsihp between LS and GMOTM from the beginning. The only con I can see is that we won't be able to be as freely cynical and pessimistic as usual...

I don't see how there would be any cons, there would be more activity in MMLS, and there might be a greater chance of MML3 revival if there is more attention brought to it.

I'm still confused as to why being openly cynical and pessimistic is a good thing at all. That's the kind of thing that kills online communities to start with.

Pretty sure that said cynicism stems from most MMLS regulars not having a soul. We're hollow inside, but not because of the MML3-incident.

Congratulations on being affiliated with GMOTM.
I personally believe new faces would actually be a good thing as it would make this board more active.

Thats some good news, knowing that traffic is usually slow here. Direct affiliation always helps both sides, one way or another. I don't see anything wrong about it.

Thats some good news, knowing that traffic is usually slow here. Blame the upper-management of MMLS. They never really focused on infrastructure, so the traffic congestion still remains a major issue to this day.

I read this whole thread, and my one thought is,
"What's GMOTM?"

The 100,000 Strong Facebook group. A while back they actually did things that involve trying to get Legends 3 made but lately they've just been promoting kickstarters for people who make games that are kind of like Mega Man, streaming on hitbox, and posting screenshots from MMLS on Throwback Thursday.
