Thanks for the feedback. I was going for kind of a live feel with the intro and outro of Nite Ride, which is why they are so long. I was hoping it'd be cool enough to not feel long, but I guess I failed, lol. The guys at chipmusic.org say the bluesy riff needs to be changed to a melody after awhile, with some variation. Although, the attention is really supposed to shift from the opening riff to the subsequent riffs that are stacked upon it. Should have made those louder... As for Finder's Keep, I probably should have beefed up the bassline a little bit, and cranked up the kick a knotch or two. The "salvation" and ending were written after I'd gained a bit more experience and some feedback on Nite Ride, actually, haha. I'm glad it showed through. I'm not really into the whole "over-stimulation" style of chiptune, which explains the blandness of the rest of it. I'll have to work on creating stronger melodies to keep your attention while retaining a light feeling. I actually had the idea of "listening while doing other things" in my mind while making these, rather than "I want to put this in a video game". Thanks, again, for the feedback =D Edit: Maybe you'll find this one a bit more interesting: soundcloud.com/sketchman3/sketchman3-holmesI imagined this might be appropriate in a spy/action-hero detective film setting.

Yep, I enjoyed Holmes from beginning to end. This has to be the best track I heard from you and it is a very, VERY good track in the world of chiptunes. Once you're finished with this project/album/whatever, do you plan on uploading 320kbps files? After getting a Skullcandy, I really don't want to bother with bringing anything with me that's not at least 320kbps. Too noticeable for me. WOOHOO! That makes me feel happy. 256kbs vs. 320kbs is too noticeable a difference? Really? Interesting. I've read that there are a number of mp3 players that stutter at 320, and even my computer would stutter when I played them in VLC occasionally, so that's why I figured I'd make a compromise at 256kbs. The whole bitrate thing has always been a unique dilemma to me, because most of the music I make uses lo-fi and low-quality samples or recording equipment to begin with. haha. In fact, my 8bit "Main Gate" remix had a bit-compressing filter added to it to give it a more lo-fi Gameboy speaker sound, since I used a Gameboy software synth (Freeboy in LMMS) and not an actual Gameboy. I'll keep what you said in mind. They were actually going to be 320 to begin with, but with the stuttering problems and all that, yeah. Also, I've heard Skullcandies aren't all that great in terms of the full frequency range. My bro told me they're all about the bass, and don't have great top-end. But that's a bit irrelevant... Anyway, it's not really a project or album. I'm just making music and releasing it for CC until I feel confident to put together something official. I just figured that, with my first "single" to the chiptune world (Nite Ride) I'd make a visual to go with it. I suppose I could turn this into a project, though, with "NiteRide" being the title. Hmmm... But, yeah, I'll be posting other random music stuff too that isn't chip-related. Think of this as my music gallery. Edit: Oh snap, I just realized you said "bringing... with me" =D That makes me fuzzy.

Your other two songs are fine but Holmes is way good! Thanks! =D I'm glad you think so. I just realized, I uploaded this awhile ago, but I don't think I ever posted it anywhere (I think?) because it's WIP, but I figured may as well. soundcloud.com/sketchman3/main-gateI actually manually transcribed the theme to LMMS and built off of that, as the original sample did have a steady enough tempo to loop properly. This is more of an arrangement than a remix, I suppose. Basically rearranging drums and mixing up the tune a teensy bit. If I had been hipper back then I'd have thrown in some dubwubs, lol Edit: I'll be having some more chippy stuffs to post soon (one Legends related)

Oh wow! My first immediate thought when listening to your main gate? Rock and Juno having sweet one on one basketball match in the boss area. I would love for HF to illustrate that for the final battle in his comic! My second, more relatable thought: Play that again. Hurry up and post more and make them longer!

The beginning of Whirly is pretty repetitive but once you get to the :40 mark it gets exponentially better. I really like it.
No I cannot break this reminds me of Warioware for some reason. Not really my type.
Brittle is pretty fun but I don't see 'Christmasy'.
Okay, I really like the 'chibitech' song alot! I would like to lay down in a hammock and listen to it.

Awesome music, dude! Such great tunes here. Brittle is probably my favourite of what you've posted.

Thanks! I'm glad you like my musics. Brittle was a big step up for me sound design-wise. And Loken, I'm glad my ukulele playing is soothing to your ears. And, on that note, something a little bit different and decidedly not soothing: ucollective.org/audio/SketchMan3/beese/Getting away from my normal way of doing things and what I usually aim for in my music. It's partly inspired by a kid who goes by the title of I'm Heading For a Bomb Shelter who does screamy atonal nintendocore/chipcore/pokegrind whatever stuff, to whom I was a musical mentor for a time (ironic, since I don't really like that kind of music for the most part). An experiment in aural tolerance? Do have so much to say about it because I feel the need for justification? It makes pretty asymmetrical pictures in stereo visualizations. Edit: Here are a couple tunes I did in HivelyTracker, which is an expansion of the AHX format. soundcloud.com/sketchman3/ray - More or less straight AHX, including default stereo separation. soundcloud.com/sketchman3/piggy - HVL, more flexible than AHX. Also, my first HVL tune.
