Pokemon X and Y for the 3DS is going to be a thing!
I actually haven't played a single Pokemon game since the original Silver, but I'd buy X or Y day one. I've been waiting for a full-on 3D Pokemon game for years upon years. Not buying it would be a waste of my dream. :10:
Wait crap...Someone, lend me your 3DS. I promise to give it back. In...a few decades...

Pokemon X... and Pokemon Y. Okay, am I the only person here who thinks that those are the stupidest names in the entire series thus far? Heck, it's only a matter of time before they'll make the inevitable Pokemon Z, which sounds like some poor fan-fiction involving the Dragon Ball universe. Unless they make Pokemon XX and Pokemon XY, in which case, the legendaries better be opposite genders! Personally, I'm not overly fond of the current focus on "3D graphics" with the last few Pokemon games. Call me old-fashioned, but sprites just seem to suit the series a whole lot better. Don't get me wrong, the third dimension worked for the Stadium games and whatnot, but this just feels gimmicky for the classic format. Maybe if they tried to do something with it, my opinion will change. Crap. I better say something positive before I get lynched! Uh. At least Iwata gave a classy performance for the advertisement? :41:

How bout... a trailer? Idk really. I'll have to play it to find out. Oh the joys of having bought a 3DS so long before~ Honestly though, I'm still waiting for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3D to be released to us. If that's gonna be Japan-only I'd probably cry.Now where's Tronbonne? Surely she has some take on the news. edit: actually, Mystery Dungeon 'Gates to Infinity' will supposedly be released in the U.S. March of this year, before X and Y, after another poke around Youtube. It's the Year of Pokemon~

I don't blame you for being disappointed. Pokemon has lacked a certain feature that involves letting you decide what your Pokemon Trainer looks like for quite some time, which has been a real thorn in my side since around Gen IV when the graphics started to plateau. It isn't like it'd be a hard thing to implement, either, and it'd help round out the multiplayer experience. If Gaia Online can do it, why not Pokemon? Oh, and the male protagonist really looks like a girl this time. I see they balanced it out by making the female protagonist look MORE like a girl.

Pokemon X... and Pokemon Y. I think X and Y sounds absolutely stupid, and I think Pokemon is best in 2D, but I'm probably not the only person who's been wanting to see how a fully 3D Pokemon game would look. I don't think they should keep up with the 3D for the remainder of the series, but having an entire game world devoted to the style makes me really happy.

I'm actually excited for Pokemon X & Y. Then again, as an avid Pokefan, I'm just about always excited for new main entries. Except for remakes of classic games. The girl trainer looks an awful lot like a certain blonde female lead in the Megaman Legends series. And I know I'm not the only one who sees that.

Aw hell to the no. Not in that getup. I don't do drag. Cutesy? Wootsey? Have you even MET me? You couldn't pay me to wear that stupid outfit. I even remarked to my real life friends that I think I look more like the guy this time around than any of the protags other than Hilbert, and they agreed.

Aw hell to the no. Not in that getup. I don't do drag. I couldn't tell what she was wearing at first, and it looked like proper tomboyish attire from afar, so I thought by "I don't do drag" you meant that you only wear girly clothing. I nearly facepalmed, until I realized it was the opposite. XD I give you three thumbs up. Now that I'm looking at her straight-on, it seems pretty silly for a girl braving the wilds to be wearing a frilly skirt. That's like calling yourself a chef while wearing a scubadiving outfit. And scubachefs don't exist......Yet.

Funnily enough, the female playable character's actually a blond for once, so people probably could at least picture Dashe in that getup, even though we'd never see her caught dead wearing it. Funny. Last blond female that had any tie-ins to the main character was Bianca, but you never played as her. This is turning more and more hilarious, now I actually can't wait for it. I do wish people would shut up about it not being on a console though (Which is apparently what a lot of people are griping about in other corners of the web.) Mainstream pokemon games were always handheld, due to the portable aspect having been emphasized upon since Generation 1. Sure, there were nifty console games that added onto the experience like Pokemon Stadium [2] and [arguably] Pokemon Battle Revolution, and I wouldn't expect [or even want] for them to change that now, or ever. Those graphics might look like they could be put on the Wii-U, but the 3DS has the 3 in front of it for a reason. The graphics are comfortable & easy to wear, ( ) and I personally can't wait to see it pop out for myself. Rant over~

Someone needs to play as the female trainer and name her Lisa. THAT'S who she reminds ME of!

Don't tempt me! I've been looking for a way to spice up the main story. Pretending to be a blond manipulative b***h that ultimately kills her fiancee due to her inconsideration and selfishness for the storyline and hearing people actually refer to yourself as "Lisa" might just be the perfect catalyst. Is that the right word? Maybe it's not. But it's a cool word. Catalyst.

Ooch. Now that I see her up close, she looks like Roll or Iris from a far with that blonde hair and the shape of the hat, but more like a pseudo 1920's Taylor Swift up close.
I'm still getting X because I legitimately am impressed with what it could offer, and because I'm a an avid and loyal Pokemon fan almost on a fanboyish level minus the aggression. (The way I am with most things I like.) Even if the gameplay and most aspects of the series don't really change that much from generation to generation, I still always have that urge to catch them all. Or, as much as the game itself allows me to catch. Which is why I try to keep up with the main series. So saving up some money and buying at least one to two games in each new generation, is like a quint annual tradition I've been doing since Silver. Just to experience each new set of Pokemon first hand as they debut you know?

Is that the right word? Maybe it's not. But it's a cool word. Catalyst. If it doesn't experience decay or get consumed in the process, then yes; Catalyst is the right word. The local arcade near where I live recently got the latest Pop 'n Music Sunny Park; even using the new 'clean' model of the gaming machine. For anyone unfamiliar with this series of music games: Don't be fooled by the 'kiddy' design, this game can get crazy hard, albeit not Beatmania hard. Edit: Seriously.

So that new Nintendo Direct showed off or announced a lot for the Wii U. The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Yoshi's new game that looks like Kirby's Epic Yarn, SMT x Fire Emblem, the new Xeno game, and a remake of the Wind Waker. That goes along with revealing that the new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash games will be at E3. Good show once they got into talking about the games and all.
