I've been kind of busy recently so I am throwing a livestram... to relieve stress for a bit. In about half an hour if anybody is interested. I will be playing a Portuguese-made game which makes me sort of proud ^^
It's a point-and-click game called "Detective Case and Clown Bot in: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon". I played a bit before and I love the pixel aesthetics the developers decided to use, as well as a couple of interesting game mechanics that resemble Phoenix Wright for a bit.

I've decided, with prompting from JMC47, to stream Rogue Galaxy for the PS2. Tonight. Starting right now. iScribble room is open for chatting and links will be provided there. It's not an extremely serious stream, so I'm not expecting an audience. Just figured I ought to announce it.

Oh, cool. I actually own that game and never played it. Guess it couldn't hurt to check out what I've been missing all these years!

Rogue Galaxy; Chapter 2: The Jungle Planet. Jaster and the crew search the Juraikan jungles high and low on an expedition for Fire Fruit, but the elusive plant is nowhere to be found.
Left with no alternatives, the group decides to attempt contact with the Burkaqua, a local tribe known for their reclusive nature and an unfortunate habit of not being very welcoming toward outsiders...As of the beginning of tonight's stream, our hero Jaster has managed to reach 94th in the galaxy's top 100 hunters! He's up to about 24000 points, compared to Desert Claw's 260000-and-change. I have the stream up and the iScribble room open as of right now, although I'll be grinding until people start showing up. I hope to move forward with attempt 2 on the boss around 8-8:30pm. EDIT: I've been working on performance issues, and have (I believe) improved the performance of the game and the quality of the stream slightly. Those childhood flashbacks will probably still be garbage, though.
EDIT 2: A summary of yesterday's stream: Chapter 2: The Jungle Planet- Jaster, Zegram, and Lilika heroically save Kisala from the Mud Whooper, a giant frog beast.
- Mud Whooper's best friend, a cute purple frog named Toady appears and explains that the beasts of the forest have all appeared because of the
forced evolution virus the appearance of the rune, which accelerates evolution in nearby creatures. He also demonstrates that by eating two weapon of the same sort (like swords...) he can cough up an improved weapon of the same type. Then he tries to eat Zegram's leg. - Lilika is forever in our debt from saving her 12 year old sister, Mimi, who is also blinded in an beast attack that killed their mother. She grants us entry into the village.
Chapter 3: The Star God's Altar- In the village, the tribe chief condemns Mimi to death as a sacrifice for the Star God, in an effort to protect the village from the increased number of beasts, lack of food, and the presence of "dark fruit" that are killing the tribes. The original purpose of the trip, the Fire Fruit, is still nowhere to be seen.
- A tribesman, Qrann, protests this condemnation because it won't change anything. He's ignored because it's common knowledge in the tribe that he's in love with the young Miri. ("It's a village. It's totally legal here." -JMC47)
- Lilika leads Miri off toward the Star God's Altar to be sacrificed to it. Our heroes chase after, meeting a few one-appearance characters and gaining a few items (a Freeze Shot Gun, especially), until...
- Zegram disappears suddenly, and is shown making a HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS cellphone call to an unknown person. ("Yes, I'm just using those chums to get to where we need to go. We can ditch them later." *evil laughter*) and is excluded from our party for the remainder of this chapter.
- Jaster and Kisala meet up with Lilika, and Lilika warns them sternly that the Star God ritual is NOT to be interfered with. Suddenly, we see the "Star God" appear from above the Altar, the beast Individer. Lilika recognizes the beast's cry as the same beast that killed her mother and blinded Mimi. She makes a short speech about refusing to worship it any longer, and the three of them kick its ass.
- Mimi is safe, Qrann is promoted to the head of the warriors, Lilika is banished from the village because of blasphemy against the Star God ("The village needs [the idea of] the Star God. Without it, it will fall into chaos." -Chief. Tough words for Skeptic Posterboy Qrann to swallow, but they go down better with the promotion.)
- Lilika joins our band of heroes and finds a home on our ship.
- Zegram returns out of nowhere, and our heroes interrogate him. He produces a canister of Fire Fruit extracted Booster Oil, which can be used to repair and relaunch the ship. ("What, did you guys forget what we were supposed to do? You can thank me anytime, you know.") The Dorgenark relaunches and continues to the highly-advanced planet of Zerard.
Chapter 4: The Great Escape- Our 2nd in Command, the evil cat thing everyone hoped was dead in Chapter 2 after the crash, gives Jaster (with Lilika and Simon in tow) a menial labour mission: Renew the Interplanetary Trading Visa! ("Man, there's gonna be problems, and fees, and debts, and I'll need to cover it all." "No, we're just going to be arrested and killed." --Me and JMC)
- After some exploration of the very large, wide open area, the Insectron battledome (where we re-meet our young bug battle enthusiast from Juraika) can be found. A license to start playing is 3000 zehn, which I can't afford yet.
- Our heroes eventually make their way to the Galaxy Corporation and speak with the receptionist, MIO, about a visa renewal. She's a valley girl, and that's being kind. ("I think I'm gonna be sick." "This is making even me uncomfortable." --Avegodro and JMC)
- Our heroes, now jailed in Rosencaster's Supermax Hellhole, meet a shadowy capped figure who helps them break out of prison. The figure has just about the entire prison guard population on his side, so aside from various encounters with beasts underground, it's a cakewalk up 5 storeys...
- ...past the burnt-out husk of the Mark VIII Salamander, to...
- ...a room where Rosencaster is experimenting with
gene therapy to breed the ultimate soldier rune evolution to turn prisoners into fighting mutants and beasts. He is beaten by the party... - ...and then killed by his boss, Norma Kissleigh, for insubordination and not being able to deliver results. ("You're fired." *scene black, single gunshot*)
- Free from the Prison, our shadowy prisoner friend turns out to be none other than a missing Admiral Banarge, the pacifistic leader of the city, who was jailed by pro-war activists. He gives a speech to the masses that the military needs to be defunded and
the Fed needs to be audited how everyone should get along. - We also meet a poor woman and child - Miyoko and Chie - who are looking for their missing husband/father, Sho, a chemist who was hospitalized for a chemical explosion, but escaped the hospital. Simon weirds out completely because of this, and Steve is sent out to take his place in the party.
- We cut back to Rosencaster, nearly dead and on the floor, and being monologued over by Zegram. Rosencaster's descent into madness was due to the loss of his love, Claudia, and it's implied earlier that his participation in these horrible projects was because of this. Rosencaster is given a bit of closure by Zegram, as he allows Rosencaster to die with a picture of Claudia in his hand that he had been attempting to reach.
Chapter 5: The Master Hacker- Continuing with our original mission, to renew the Visa, our delightful receptionist MIO is both surprised that we were released so soon ("OMG, Law is, like, soooo complicated!") and tells us there's nothing that can be done because ("what, have you been in prison or something? Like, gosh...") a disgruntled ex-Daytron employee has hacked into the company's servers and video feeds, and is demanding hundreds of millions of zehn in restitution. Since the Galaxy Corporation contracts Daytron to handle their systems, their systems are currently hosed, too.
The stream approximately stops here.Jaster's rank is up from 94 to 92 - he is now sitting on about 28,000 points. For those that have missed previous streams, I'm in the process of uploading copies of the streams to a filehost. They'll be available for download sometime today or tomorrow. I also intend on continuing the stream around 7pm tonight.

No Rogue Galaxy stream today (of course), but I have uploaded/rendered a number of videos that might be of interest to people who have not participated in the streams thus far. Raw Stream RecordingsFull versions of the stream, warts and all. I will try to upload one of these per day that I *am* streaming.File | Length | Chapters | Locations | RogueGalaxy_20150213.mkv | 03:59:42 | Ch1, Ch2 | Salgin, Rosa; Rose Nebula; Juraika | RogueGalaxy_20150214a_Grinding.mkv | 00:50:53 | Ch2 | Juraika | RogueGalaxy_20150214b.mkv | 04:42:16 | Ch2, Ch3, Ch4, Ch5 | Burkaqua, Juraika; Longardia, Zerard | RogueGalaxy_20150215.mkv | 03:50:34 | Ch5, Ch6 | Longardia, Zerard; Myna, Vedan; Salgin, Rosa |
Story-Condensed Chapter VideosEdited down versions of the stream videos that fast forwards or skips the grinding, the game overs, and the general "point a to point b" of the game, while maintaining the cutscenes and plot. Occasionally, the soundtrack is added as filler during longer fast forwarded sequences. I will try to upload one of these per day that I'm *not* streaming. This post will be edited when new videos are available. Bookmark it!

Heh, thanks. I wish I'd been there to read what you said when you had the cursor hovered over "Tron Bern" on the rankings for so long. I can't believe Jazz Hands didn't recruit Miri instead of Booby Brady over there. She literally tells them she can do everything but see, and I'm assuming that includes things like punching Mio in the face and getting the paperwork for your visa filed away because she already knows how this alien planet's systems work, in turn cutting out that stupid part with the robots and the system crashing. She could probably open those treasure chests that require backtracking and weird keys, too. All your friendly local fanservice vendor can do is fight...which is exactly what every other person on your team does. You got ripped off.

Dashe, I was explaining to Avegodro how we had come to the consensus the previous day that Rogue Galaxy is MML3, and was showing him all of the proof - "Tron Bern"; the dropship blueprints in Filio's hut; the general storyline, atmosphere, and aesthetic...

COMING SOON-ish Finally! After 10,000 years, I'm ready and willing to stream NDRV3 for everyone! No date has been set exactly, seeing as I've been so out of touch that I have no idea what everyone does these days. But! With any luck (and some helpful hints on when's a good time to stream) we can have it up and running ASAP!

Awesome! I don't know if my work schedule will let me see much of it, but I'm free Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays for the most part.
