Ah, I wish I could've played Shenmue...
And I removed the link from that quote on the last page, though I didn't really want to.

Well, for once, the entirety of the Devroom and Legends Station can agree on one thing.

Strange how I just saw von Karma do that in an episode of Phoenix Wrong on Youtube. =p I guess there still might be a little hope of them reviving the project. Probably not that much hope, but some hope.

I went to say that Legends 3 was cancelled at my other forum. As of right now, I'm waiting for a response...

I don't feel upset as I figured I would. I guess I just have a lot of other games I'm still interested in. That aside, I'm still finding it hard to imagine how MML3 could be such a risky venture that they'd cut it.
I'm sure there's some reason they did it that's justified from a financial standpoint. Not meaning this in a bad way, that's just what companies do: act in the interest of their own earnings. That's the only thing they can do if they want to stay in profit.
I just sort of wonder how they stood to lose money on it, really... I really don't think that any stigma of Megaman Legends being different from other MM games and therefore bad could have carried over to still be important at this time. I guess maybe Megaman as a name is just losing its profitability?
I was thinking "maybe Capcom develops only sure-fire money makers and low-budget releases now, just to be safe," but Lost Planet 2 came out recently, didn't it? That doesn't seem to fit those criteria...
I don't really know at all. Anyways, I'm really disappointed more than anything to see that the fan creations, Aero, and Barret are just dropped now. I was already pretty attached to those guys...
Do I plan on boycotting or hating Capcom? I don't think Capcom is a developer I can say I "like" any more. But as people have said, boycotts aren't really going to stop anything. I'm also a pretty big fan of fighters, including Street Fighter, and I usually like Resident Evil. I don't think I'll be abandoning their products.
As an added note, this has taken away my reason for getting the 3DS, at least for now. It's not cause I'm boycotting anything, just cause it was pretty much the reason I was having a hard time waiting on the console.

There are a lot of members joining lately because of this. That was very much expected, of course...
I really, honestly, don't mind Legends 3 being cancelled much, mostly because I knew that I'd either have to wait for a very, VERY long time before I'd get to play it or I'd never play it at all. It feels kind of bitter, though.
Legends 3 was just one of the games that I've been waiting to play/come out, others including MVC3, and Street Fighter X Tekken. I've been waiting to play MVC3 for a while, and I just hope that it meets my expectations.
As for Street Fighter X Tekken, I WILL be pretty ticked off if it gets cancelled. It's a must-get for me, being a HUGE Tekken fan since I was a child.

I really don't think that any stigma of Megaman Legends being different from other MM games and therefore bad could have carried over to still be important at this time. I guess maybe Megaman as a name is just losing its profitability? The Starforce and ZX series didn't sell well, neither did Zero Collection... That's also why they won't make sequels to those. The only things they have been making as of late are little phone games, which are meant to be small and therefore are by far much cheaper to make. So yes, it's not just Legends, it's the entire franchise and the most that we can hope from it now would be the books that UDON publishes, and other merchandise. Hell, even Niisuma was quoted stating his firm believe that all westerners hate MM, and I'm guessing he's judging by sales. I've already mentioned that dozens of times by now.

The fact that Niisuma thinks that all westerners hate Megaman suggests that he's either stubborn or has never used the internet in his life.

While I also certainly don't like Capcom anymore, it also doesn't mean that I'll stop buying their games either. I'll still buy the apparent Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 if more characters I like are introduced in it. And I might still get any other MegaMan game they make.
And I'll still get a 3DS...eventually. Just not right now since we're not getting even the prototype.
I still say fuck Capcom though.

Well... I don't plan to buy any more Capcom games. Not that I am delusional in thinking I will some how make a dent, but because if you can't stand something someone does, then you stop supporting them.
I personally think MML3 was ultimately canceled because it was always a very iffy risk that the team took. We were probably witness to a public prototype idea that Capcom eventually rejected. They may have very well canceled it simply to show they could. Since I get the feeling the whole team took the approach of "Well if we make this project so public they'd never risk the fan backlash."
This was a possibility that they had brought up a long time ago, but I'm still surprised it really happened.
Maybe one day we'll get the details of how MML3 would have went down, and how it would have ended...
But then... Duke Nuken Forever came back from several cancellations and hiatus... so maybe one day... but I'm not waiting for that day...
This sucks... but hey... It was through the devroom I joined MMLS, had fun, and met many cool people (and got a poster). So if anything, some good has come to me from this that I'll thank the team that had been working so hard to make MML3 a reality.

Edit: The funny thing about Smokeeye's sig, is that it's not just Volnutt that's being kicked out, it's the other Mega Men as well. Capcom just doesn't care about the franchise entirely anymore, not just Legends. There's a new picture on the matter for that now. *link*Sorry for the late reply. :21:

Reportedly it had turned into an argument between one of the staff on CU. He's most likely going by sales and the goddamn complaints that fans are constantly making about every, single, little, thing. The complaints over L3's cancellation is justified, I was referring to everything else before that.
