I was wondering if anyone wants to remake legends 1 not mod just remake. Getting the models and re-working them should be simple enough. Making simple tests to get the handling right is a little tedious but not bad. I am currently working on a java game now but this is one of my favorite games and I am willing to put that on hold. so if anyone is interested let me know.
I know what I am asking. The other project I am working on is going on 1year and isn't out of pre-alpha yet.

"Remake the game? What engine would you use?
We don't have people knowledgeable with that engine? Change the Engine!
Still nothing? Let's put it on hold, and stop it later due to lack of activity."
I can see that scenario happening when your suggestion finally kicks off.

I took a minor glance at the RMD1PC .CT and .TM ( :37: ), and they're almost 1:1 of the RMD2PC x03 and x04, so I'll just write up pages for those and post copies in this post once I'm done.
But that's it...! :01: Hi!!! First... Sorry for my bad english, i originally speak spanish. Im training the 3D Models reverse engineering with this awesome game! And... i have some troubles with some basic phases. Starting with a simply file: HEAD01.BIN This stored the megaman head without helmet. In the end of the file we have the vertices (Three pair of bytes follow by one pair of zero bytes) We have this pair of code too: 0000000007808080A500000000 0000000009808080AD00000000 They repeat so much, another guy in another forum say that those are the definitions of 3 and 4 vertex faces index. But... we have 105 vertex's approx in HEAD01.BIN and after those files we have numbers greater than 200 :S. My next phase is found the vertex face definitions in this file, i try with before numbers but... all i got is this ugly thing

I've come to a few discoveries - relating to this project, and I'm not sure where to post them.

Is this project still going on?
If so, please pm me. I have major support for the team to get this made.

whiteninja - Unfortunately the only people that I'm aware of that have done any substantial reverse engineering work on the series are, aside from myself, satoh and xdaniel. The latter seems to make an appearance once a year, the former has a lot of various non-Megaman projects going on, and so do I. Everyone else that has inquired has seemed to disappear or give up before any non-trivial fruit could be found (stuff other than finding the uncompressed texture bitmaps). I can tell you that I've only done the most cursory glance at DASH1 - my efforts have almost entirely been dedicated on DASH2. I'm willing to give you what I've got and happy to act as a repository for any developments, but if your "major support" doesn't include lone-wolfing a lot of the drudgery of fuzzing, experimentation, and subsequent documentation authoring, I'm afraid it's not going to be made anytime soon. If it does include that...PM me, I'm sure we can get you set up to do some magic.

So early on in the modding lifespan there was a program that could extract textures and models, but since I'm so late to see any of this the program seems dead and gone. If that program DOES still exist, is it possible to recompile it in for use in other programs? I'm interested in minor modding and use of the assets to explain more about the game to people.
