*reads* Hmm... Well this as piqued my curiosity. I like how they wrote this article almost like the writer was excicted about MML3 as well!

- Well those controls sound alright.
- Good, the new fans will be brought into the loop.
- Barrel missing, maybe he just got a new body?
- Volcanic leggings...eh I'm not complaining.
- Well that sounds like that will be the norm for any sequels.
- Bullbreath eh? Bet he will have horns on his bike. ;D
- Figured she would have some connection to someone important.
- Well a Bonne machine and now a Casket machine? Boy that sounds like fun already!
- Bet the 'Klicke Lafonica' will be some recognizable machine from an earlier series. :12:

Am I the only person who thinks the controls don't look too good? How are you going to control the camera? With the touch pad? But that hand is full with the buttons on the right side of the system! Or is the camera going to be like most PSP RPGs where you control the camera with the directional pad (which is awkward because you technically have to let go of the circle pad to control the camera, thus making the character stay stilll), and reset the camera with the L button?
But man, a Casket machine sounds awesome! ;D

UNIT 0918: Might be hard to judge the control scheme just yet, as we currently have knowledge as to what only four of the buttons do. In addition, the article also mentions that the control scheme will be customizable ala MML2; you'll have that and the fact that we'll be probably be able to leave feedback on the Prototype Version in the Devroom (if the need arises) to rely on in that situation.:12:

I hope you can tune the controls to the classic form, I really love that control scheme, I think Lost Planet uses it too.

The only problem, loken, is that the classic scheme relies on having an R1 AND an R2 button. Unless you plan on giving up lock-on, the control scheme will have to change. I'm thinking a smarter camera following algorithm paired with L for lock on and + pad for strafing would be perfect.

Well, I've had my ebay copy of this mag for awhile and have been meaning to post some more impressions from it, but the mascot event sucked up all my free time. Anyway, one thing I particularly like. The producer Kitabayashi said: "I feel this series (Legends) has the most passionate fan base out of all of Capcom's titles, which is what we need for a project like this - where we are creating a game together with all of the fans - to be possible." Oh yeah most passionate of all of Capcom's titles, take that X - Zero, Monster hunter, whatever else fans. He's probably jsut stroking the egos of the fans who will no doubt read this article, but I like it anyways. -The author said Barrett has all of Megamans tricks and then some Yeah, kinda what I was fearing, but it's just his opinion so no worries yet. -The author feels that Teomo and Klicklan feel spacious and Legends 3 feels more open than it's predecessors. Other than that MMN has it pretty well covered. All that's left is some nice pictures and a interview with Greg, Kitabayashi, and Gonzalez talking mostly about the logistics of the devroom. -It's an incredible expierence seeing this project unfold and to see how personally invested the fams are. Supprise over how transparent the dev team wanted to be. -Greg feels that the eastern and western fans are fairly unified in what they want from the game. -Kitabayashi says if the fans feel the fan made content is sparce, they'll add more -The plot is off limits to the fans, nobody wants to play a game where they already know how it unfolds -Gonzalez is asked "What aspects of the game will fans be creating or voting on in the coming months?" Replies-can't get too much into details, more chances to contribute in big and small ways including some mysterious "chance to design some things you might have always wanted in a Megaman game." He also says there are likely to be "reprises" of some of the more popular events done thus far. Overall it's a nice magazine and you can pick one up on ebay for about $5 delivered to your house, might be nice for your colection.

tominator: Re: Mega Man's abilities- From the impression given in the article, the author has only played the first few Mega Man Legends games and the Prototype Version, so that's probably in relation to MML1/2, not in relation to his abilities in MML3 which probably aren't even made yet. Also, couldn't you technically pick up a copy from any store that normally carries the magazine? Not sure you'd have to resort to eBay just yet- the issue isn't rare or anything like that.

I kinda want to go buy this magazine now XD
Regarding the control scheme, I think it would be nice if we had L and R to turn and the control pad strafing, like the default controls. They feel so nice and I've never played another game that has felt that way before. Maybe they could have L+R be the targeting. Or maybe we can just screw targeting altogether! I do kind of feel like the ability to move while targeting in MML2 makes the fighting kind of bland. So much so that I don't even really use it.

Yeah, with his final design just picked I doubt they even have a completed model yet. It's just the paranoia in me that makes me worried that the are trying to make Barrett too awesome leaving poor Megaman in the dust. Who knows what extra abilities he will get, but on the other hand I don't want him to be a wall running flame footed guy like Barrett. I liked his more methodical play style and would hate it to be thrown out the window. Also, couldn't you technically pick up a copy from any store that normally carries the magazine? Not sure you'd have to resort to eBay just yet- the issue isn't rare or anything like that. Yeah, one would think I could have done that. But after going to a bookstore, megamart, and a store that specialized in magazines and none of them sold Nintendo Power I decided to save myself the headache (and $1 off the cover price) and get it off ebay.

I need to make a sweep of all the local game retailers and pick up two of these to cut out and paste into my scrapbook old-school style.

I don't have any problems at all with the new control scheme, but I would like the old school controls as well because I'm very attached to them. The new controls sound perfect actually. They sound just like playing MML2 with analog sticks, but since R1 shoots you don't have to lift of of R3 to shoot.

I wish I did, but my dad's computer, which is the one attached to the scanner, is full of viruses at the moment. Guess it found out about Legends 3 and decided to go kamikaze on me. In all seriousness, though, I'm not entirely sure posting the article online is legal, but if you want to cut out the parts that said the Prototype was going to happen for sure, highlight them, and show the world, that's your call.

It's for a video I'm planning, actually. I'll be mentioning the article, and I just thought it'd be nice to include an image of it as well. I doubt it would even be readable at 640x480.
