I can´t believe I haven´t noted this before! According to the Rockman Dash 2 Capcom Special Selection book (I feel like Kobun #20 ) the girls on Pokte village had names: i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo199/Rockman_Striker/RDASHSS029.jpgThis girl (which I used to call "sexy teacher") is named Youkan. She is called "Ofuton" And this hateful girl which I used to call Yai: It is truly Yai! or Yaito in Japanese. Any idea why the little ducks below her? It´s kind of strange, i knew that Yai from MMBN was based on this girl (that´s why her NetNavi is Glyde right?) but I´ve never had a proof, now that it´s confirmed, i feel surprised. The mystery is solved.... at least just for me.

Well this isn't really new information (even before the Special Selection booklet was released), though I guess it is for some people. Maybe fAB should add these names to the MML2 cast page to reduce the obscurity.
The mayor's name is actually Yokan, after the Japanese word for sweet bean jelly. You're right about Ofton (or Ofuton) and Yaito (may as well be Yai, all things considered). Ofuton basically means futon.

I remember in a 4-Koma drawn by one of the long-running veterans of Hi no Tama (the publisher), Rock saw how shapely the head teacher was, and was teasing Sera for being flat.

Morgan sounds a sexy cool name for her.
And I shoudl ask a second opinion on the second girl... And I never had doubts she was named Yai or yaito or something. (even though... the only thing Glyde.exe has over Glyde is the colours. But Both yai's have a bratty personality)

Morgan sounds a sexy cool name for her. This is surprisingly appropriate, much like a certain spirit channeler.

If I were to guess at a pattern for the quiz girls' names, I'd guess...uniquely Asian things? Youkan is a Japanese snack, Ofuton is Japanese bedding, and Yaito is an element of Chinese medicine.

I believe Raijin´s right (he knows more japanese than me after all ;D) so I´m going to edit the first post to evade wrong conclusions. Youkan now seems a good name for her: I want to eat a Mizu youkan, it seems to be refreshing!

Hurray, I can call her Yai without questioning whether it's canon or not!
Is it bad that I keep mistaking Youkan for The Master? <_<

I honestly cringe a little when I see the title.
I'd prefer the title be "The Mayor and her two students/pupils" rather than "Quiz Girls.", but that's my opinion.

Most people would call them the quiz girls anyway since it's easier to remember and more people would 'get it' when someone is talking about them. Besides, that title seems awfully long.

This reads like maybe you missed my post? Or did you want another opinion besides? I DID read your post but yes I would ask another opinion.. Japanese... is not to be taken easy... at least I never thought that. At least I don't pretend I know Japanese for saying stuff like arigato or something

Well this much is easy, trust me. I may not be fluent in Japanese, but I have no problem at all reading and transliterating Katakana. Interpreting these names is not translation, it's more like decryption. All you have to do is identify the sound each character makes, and then possibly run it through a filter of rules to simplify the resultant word. You don't even have to know a word of Japanese to be good at it. I pretty much mastered it on my own before even taking a class in Japanese.
So yeah, it's Yokan, Ofuton, and Yaito.
