"Huh, can't quite say I have, but unless he has a class A digger's license he hasn't gone into the ruins. Maybe he went into the mines to pay off your membership fees. Does that sound very likely?"

"Yeah, we've been here doing it all digitally," Giygas said. "Thank god for that, too. Much easier than pen and paper. You guys DID know you could do that, right?"
Fatman nodded. "As for your astute observation on our lack of humanity, you're right on the nose. Giygas is a Starman, Laharl's a demon, and Isis used to be a Purifier Unit for the Master System. As for me, I don't think I even count as human anymore; would you call a Spiral Being truly human if they had two hearts?"

Marina thinks for a second, then replies to Loken saying. "No we paid the fees ahead of time from our last dig, and do you even need a license to enter a mine?"
---- Meanwhile back in the mines Ragun slowly opens his eyes and begins moving his head left and right looking around while still leaning against the wall he notices an injury where his armor is cracked.
"Looks like it did get through my armor." He says while still looking around he notices another sharukurusu patrolling he quickly stops talking and plays dead as it walks by.
"Looks like I should just lay low for awhile and try to contact someone by radio later."

The sounds of battle had faded and Avegodro became uneasy in the silence. He then heard a reaverbot coming in his general direction. Avegodro dropped to a crouch and his Hei Gui stealth armor turned on ,its modulating field transmiting the reflected light from his back onto his front, he was now just clearish but not invisible. He brought his sheild arm up when the small cyan reaverbot came down the corridor. He decided to wait for it to pass hoping to go unnoticed.

"No ma'am, you can go into the mines when ever you want, but they say it has really dangerous work conditions. Do you have radio equipment you can contact him with?"

Skye, Ally and Sora had now ventured deep into the ruins.
Sora was scouting ahead, looking around each corner to see if there were any reaverbots lurking, waiting to catch any diggers off guard.
Skye had the gorubeshu shield mounted on her back like a backpack. "See anything Sora?" She asked.
Sora didn't respond, indicating to her that she heard something.
"Hmm?" Ally stood completely still.
Skye too kept quiet, and heard what Sora and Ally heard: the all too familiar metallic stomps of an oncoming sharukurusu.
"Oh crap..." Skye said to herself. "Not those bastards again..."
"Poco poco. Poco." Sora said to her.
"Just one? Shouldn't be TOO bad, right?" Ally asked, readying her gun.
"Ally don't get any smart ideas." Skye tried to tell her, but her words didn't process through to Ally quick enough, as she ran around the corner to face off against the reaverbot.

"Digitally?" Zero frowned, glancing back at Bass again. Then he broke into the silliest grin. "I'm doing that! Thanks for the tip!" He took another sip of his "E-Tank" and added, "Do you think you could help me find where to digitally register? I don't want to be stuck with a stupid username like Joey just did!"
Bass overheard all of this and fought to keep himself from walking over and open-firing on the whole lot of them. Instead, he pressed down on his forms so hard that his pen almost snapped in half. He took one glance at his pen, frowned, and eased up. "Damn forms..." He mumbled to nobody in particular.

"I do have a small radio in my pocket but I can't get a signal from Ragun." Marina says to Loken as she adjusts the radio multiple times.
"(Maybe I should try getting closer to the mines.)" She thinks to herself while still adjusting the radio.
"I have to go thanks for your help!" Marina says as she begins running in the direction of the mines.

Loken rubs his head and sighs, "Women." "Mikey better have not shut that door on me, I don't have a license." Loken said as he was walking back toward the ruin. "Okay, good it's still open. It's ahh.. pretty dark in there... maybe Dashe wouldn't even know it if I didn't go in? No, that scoundrel Micky would sell me out to get me out of the picture." So Loken made his decent into the ruins, fearing what was to come. "It's cold, dark, musty, I'm unarmed, there are reaverbots wondering around down here, and my damned allergies are acting up again. Perfect."

Giygas shrugged, and pointed over to a very convenient set of kiosks next to the registration booth, all with removable touchscreens. "Shouldn't be too hard, but I brought my own tablet to do it with, so I didn't have to pay an extra 5 Zenny for loaning costs. As for our usernames, Fatman's the one who's registered. We're filing under his name as dependents."

Zero smiled. "I probably should've filed Joey as a dependent under my own account too," He squeaked. "Oh well, guess it's too late for that now! Heehee!" He walked over to a kiosk and inserted five Zenny to begin his registration.
"JenJenChan? That sounds good..." Zero mused to himself as he typed in the username. Miraculously, it wasn't taken, and the electronic registration kiosk didn't butcher it. Granted, the name itself was plenty embarrassing for a Maverick Hunter of Zero's stature, but that was, in this case, a good thing.
"...Why does the administration here even need to know the last television series I called out sick from work to watch the season finale of?!" Zero sputtered more to himself than anyone else. "I'm so glad I'm not filling these out manually."
"Don't rub it in." Bass grumbled, his eyes on the wall of text he was trying to comprehend. "I'm wondering how this city got as populated as it did, looking at this registration process."

Fatman grinned as Zero left. With some savvy timing, he had just finished the tuneup on the Gustaff Mk. II's engine, so he and Isis closed it up. The skull-lid closed with a click or two as Fatman walked around to the front of the mech and opened its cockpit hatch up (after pulling off the raggedy poncho and dropping it on Laharl).
The upper front half of the mech slid out and then up, the head automatically retracting its eyes and Beacon Bomb launcher inside itself as it slid backwards. The cockpit gleamed with a silver shine, almost enough to blind Fatman for a minute as he got in.
As per usual, the only visible controls were a circular dial inset in the middle control panel, the controls to its sides covered by metal plates. Fatman adjusted his seat a bit, digging around in his pockets until he pulled out a set of keys with a drill-bit keychain.
The cockpit closed up, and with servomechanical precision, the head slid back into place. The mecha started to move, standing up instead of sitting.
"Gustaff Mark Two... SPIN ON!"
Its hands spun around a full 360°, the head popped up with a flash of the eyes and a pop-out of the Beacon Bomb launcher, and the jet nozzles on the back puffed out a few puffy blasts of steam. The Gustaff Mk. II was up and running like a new car.
On the inside, Fatman took a hold of the two tracked joysticks to his sides, the controls for the Gustaff. The circular dial lit up like a spiral-shaped gauge as the inside plating lit up with hexagonal shapes, forming a panoramic view of the Gustaff's surroundings.
"Alright," Fatman said over the mech's intercom; his voice came out of the head's mouth with accuracy only seen in television shows. "My Gustaff's up and running. I'm gonna go take it for its paces, you guys."
Isis and Giygas nodded as Laharl just threw the poncho back into the Gustaff's hands. "Put that back on first," The demon growled. "I hate it when you just throw that on me. Don't you have any manners?"
"You, talking about manners? That's a bit far-fetched, don't you think?" Isis slyly commented. Laharl looked embarassed by this.
"I-I-I'm just saying, my vassals ought to show me a bit more respect--"
"We get it, Laharl, don't worry." Giygas sat down cross-legged to finish the paperwork. "Fatman has manners, right? Like, for instance, the wherewithal to avoid any trouble with the admins?"
The Gustaff nodded its head. "Yeah, I get it, guys." And with that, Fatman was off.

approximately half a hour previously… _________ Stepping through the door into the cavernous ruins, Mikey was thinking how he could have worded what he said to Loken differently. When it came to thinking on his feet, Mikey was quick with the trigger and remarks, one of his bitter traits. Charm was the next one to step in.
“Why Master Mikey, you look… concerned.” stated Charm, stepping dead in his tracks upon seeing Mikey’s expression.
“Oh, it’s… nothing.” replied Mikey, shaking his head. REI was right, there were no reaverbots in the chilly lobby of the ruins; but there seemed to be a giant sapphire gem, which was encrusted into the wall. Mikey got out his rifle, and slowly walked up a small flight of stairs to it. A point was coming out of the ceiling at an angle, to aim at the gem.
Mikey ran his hand over the surface of the sapphire, and squinted. The inside of the sapphire appeared to be cut in different places, but the pattern was too difficult to decipher in the deep blue coloration. Could it have been a map? Or perhaps a way to bounce the beam that was to come out of the point in the ceiling?
“There’s a secret in this room…” said Mikey aloud.
“Really?! How do we find it?” asked Charm, hopping repeatedly.
At that moment, Anima and REI entered.
“Y'know, I've always wondered why peanut butter and- WHOA!” exclaimed Anima, her eyes settling on the huge sapphire.
“That is quite the treasure. Are we even capable of carrying a gem that big?” wondered REI, who was obviously not paying attention to Anima beforehand.
“I don’t think it’s meant to be taken. Take a look at that point in the ceiling. It looks like it’s aiming directly at the sapphire, and I’ve noticed it’s cut in a particular way. There’s a secret in this room, and we have to activate that point for the gem to show us what it is.” Replied Mikey, still staring at the gem with his index finger on his chin.
“It seems that there are more rooms than there are corridors. The next few rooms have several reaverbots. Charm and Ally weren’t kidding about it. I’m not sure if we have the firepower to proceed…” said REI, staring at one of the only two doors in the lobby.
Mikey chuckled as he checked to see that his rifle was loaded, “As long as we don’t run into any of those finicky mirocs or pocommi’s, I think we’ll be just fine. I see this as an acceptable way to ‘hold back a reaverbot invasion’.”
“Yay! This brings back memories!” declared Charm, moving over next to REI.
“It sure does… I wonder how Ally’s doing.” replied Mikey, walking down the stairs and preparing to go through the door.
“Oh come on, don’t think that way,” chimed in Anima, “Skye and Ally are unstoppable together.”
end of half-hour earlier transition _______ ~Meanwhile~
“Oh, sh-” started Ally. The sharukarusu turned out to be a trio of large versions. Ally looked down at her blaster pistol, then looked UP at the sharukarusus. They had stopped walking, and seemed to be doing the same actions as Ally, looking at her blaster gun and then at her. At that moment, Skye came around the corner.
“WHOA-” she cried out, withdrawing the shield, and instinctively began auto-firing her gun arm at the Sharukarusus. Ally jumped back a step, and began firing as well. Both on either side fell rather quickly, but the third Sharukarusu had retreated quickly back into the mines.
“Poco?” chirped Sora, popping out from behind Skye’s leg.
“That was just plain weird… What is that third one planning?” wondered Skye.
“There are two kinds of people in this world. People who are chased, and the ones who do the chasing!” replied Ally, running after the Sharukarusu.
“Where does she get all of that energy?!” exclaimed Skye, struggling a bit to keep up, with Sora on her heels.
(( Since I'm a tiny bit behind, please make note that the lobby scene of the ruins expedition happens before Loken ever enters. From that point in time, he's still talking with Marina. ))

He waited and was surprised to see the reaver and two diggers run past. "I didn't know they were able to be tampered with" he thought as he stood up and pressed onto down the hall. He entered the room where the battle had occured. His gaze swept the room for any signs of loot. Dissapointed, Avegodro decided to head topside and enter the city.

Bass watched the man in the mech tromp out into the city, leaving his companions to finish up the paperwork, and seethed with envy. He was about a third of the way through the mountain of forms. He picked up a lime green form. "Please fill out all items in magenta ink only. Print neatly." He blinked and rifled through the case of pens the CokeBot had given him. After searching for a good five minutes and almost accidentally using fuchsia instead, he found the magenta pen, uncapped it, and started filling in the blanks.
Only...he was out of ink. He grumbled a string of curses and walked up to the front desk again. "Do you have any magenta pens?" He asked. "I'm all out of ink."
"Violation: Minor Infraction #8: Keep foul language to a minimum." The CokeBot replied. "Filing infraction report. Please hold."
"You heard that?!" Bass asked incredulously.
"Affirmative." The CokeBot spat a Minor Infraction ticket back at Bass. "If you would like to appeal your case, please consult the staff member who sent you this warning, or Dashe."
"I just want a magenta pen that works." Bass tried to reason with the bot.
"One moment please." The CokeBot replied as it opened a drawer and extracted a pen. It handed the pen to Bass.
Bass looked at the label. "This is fuchsia." He explained. "I'm supposed to fill the form out with magenta."
"I apologize." The CokeBot took the pen back. After scanning the contents of the drawer for a minute or so, it closed the drawer and added, "We are currently out of magenta ballpoint pens."
"Then how am I supposed to complete my registration?" Bass demanded. "They very clearly said to fill out the lime green form in magenta ink! I don't want to get written up twice in the same day!" He didn't add that it would probably also be bad for his cover if his forms didn't go through properly... "There isn't a store nearby where I could pick up a magenta pen, is there?"
"Generating map..." The CokeBot analyzed. "One percent...two percent..."
