Honestly guys, last time didn't work out so hot and I really don't have much faith in it happening this time around either. But I HAVE to get everybody's opinion.
Do we all want to try and get the RP section up and alive again? Or should we close the curtain on this part of the forum?
If you're going to vote for either or, I would much rather have your reasoning for your vote. Simply saying "Keep it open for sure!" doesn't tell me why it should be kept open. Just keep that in mind when you're posting here.

My honest opinion is that it's not worth trying another reboot. We've got a bit more of an active forum going right now so it might be more likely to work, but this sort of thing never really worked all that well in the past, and I wouldn't really expect it to now. (At least, not in an official, proper RP board style) I think it would be better to just let it go for now.
You might say it couldn't hurt to try, of course, and that's fair enough. But if you're asking if I think it's likely to succeed, the answer is no. And I'd have to say right off the bat, if you rebooted it, I probably wouldn't join in, personally.

Trust me Pitch, I'm right there with you. But I do still have the responsibility of maintaining this bit of the forum. Though I think it's no secret that it's mostly been dead on this side anyways... XD

As a once-RP'er, my opinion is that the RP section should be kept open, but not actively revived. It's true that the RP section hasn't seen a lot of activity since its creation, but judging by the few 'not-quite-RPs' that have been around for a while there must be at least some interest in the idea of it. And as Pitch slightly hints at, an increase of new members (at some/any point in the future) might hold light for the RP section yet, so keeping the doors open might not be entirely unwarranted. : )

Well, Dashe, Mike, Skye, Trege, Tuga, and I have a RP thingy going on currently and everyone seems to be having fun. Dashe and Whitewindow have a RP thing going on (of which I might would contribute but I'm clueless where to start). I personally would contribute, but I know alot of the senior members do not like this sort of thing.

Blues: Good points. I'll put it this way though. Everyone has a motorcycle and they drive it everyday. Sometimes, the old, rusty bicycle will get used, but more often than not, it sits in the corner. Unloved. Now, MML3 = the Motorcycle, RP-Section = Rusty Bicycle. I just feel like everyone is too busy talking about MML3 to really care about RPing right now. Maybe. Maybe in the short-sighted future, we'll get a few people to wonder back over this way. But the chances of that seem quite unlikely to me. Loken: So...you guys are doing RP stuff outside the RP section? I see.

I had thought it should have been moved to it but I never said anything about it.

Dashe suggested it to be a Mumbo Jumbo RP, since it does not follow a true path in a egaman series. Sure it's a spinoff, but it is based mostly on the forum and the people whom are part of it.

Now I want a motorcycle. :37: Anyway, for the time being I think this should just be closed and put into the background until there's any real demand for it personally. Maybe it's not time to close the doors forever, but I don't really see the place getting any use any time soon. Loken: So...you guys are doing RP stuff outside the RP section? I see. Yeah, that'd be the MMLS City thread. It's basically a sequel to Rage's old "MMLS Militia" thread. It's an unmanaged pseudo-RPG, where everyone plays themselves or their own OCs, and for some reason Dashe plays cross-dressing Zero and (non-cross dressing) Bass. (I think she thinks she's funny or something) It's in Mumbo Jumbo instead of the RP Section because it belongs there; it's mostly just for kicks. I guess.

@skye: Hm. I think that's a slight flaw with the rule-set for the RP Section. It should be anything that's MML-based or Forum based. But if Dashe deemed it Mumbo-Jumbo material, I'm not going to fight her on it. ^_^;
@pitch: Yeeeeah...sounds like something Dashe would do. I bet she randomly busts out into Show-tune songs as well. Either way, definitely does sound like something that should be kept in Mumbo-Jumbo.
Ah, I know. RP Section should be seasonal. It's only open for like 3/4's of a year or something. Might somehow get people more interested in it? I dunno...

Yeaaaah. I figured MMLS City, since it didn't have a GM, was more of an informal thing. Now if White, or White and I in a collab, were to take on active GMing roles in the seige of MMLS, then there'd be a legitimate reason to move it here. I was tempted to do this from the start and will contact White to determine where he stands on this one.
His intent was to do a crossover RP with the MML3 Project wiki, and invite a bunch of servbots over to stage a fake heist on the place by the Bonnes--it'd be kind of like anyone on the MMLS side would play themselves, and any Devroom visitors play their own Servbot numbers. He has yet to advertise it on Unity at all, and none of the LS members have jumped up to defend the Station from the potential Devroom threat either.
As for keeping the RP section or not, I actually think we should transfer it, as well as its archives and the three RPs we did start, to Forum Games as a subforum and use it for both informal (non-GM'd) and formal (GM'd) RPs. Meaning there wouldn't be much of a reason to have an RP Keeper, if that's fine by you, since anyone could potentially become a GM if it suits their fancy.
It'd also be a more logical place to stash the informal RP threads than Mumbo-Jumbo.

(Edit: Ninja'd? I'm not even sure, really...D : )@dash: Hm, are you sure the two are comparable in such a way? I'd put it more like so: if every board in this forum was a vehicle of some sort...Hm, well, there'd be a lot of rust and dust most everywhere that still needs to be cleaned up- it's a huge garage, but there still aren't that many drivers that use it, at least not yet. XD So for that, MML3 would be less a motorcycle and more one of those new mono-wheel cycles, freshly bought. It's a cool idea, and it generates a lot of attention for sure. But that doesn't mean that it'll stay consistent, or that everyone can or will want to use it all the time, as well-heralded as it is. In the meantime, the drivers are going to want something more known and consistent to rely on, the other vehicles (bicycles, cars, what-have-you ), and though they'll stick to generally the most well-known or user-friendly vehicles first, it never means they won't test out what the rest of the garage has had to offer. Hopefully that makes sense, so that you could get something out of it, eh? :06:

Sounds a bit tricky. I think if you were gonna try something like that you should maybe make it so that any active RPs need to be concluded before RPs go “out of season.” That's one of the things that hurt so much in the original RP board: the waiting for people to reply, forgetting what was even going on, having to re-read massive posts to catch up when they finally did ( some one of them nine bloody pages) But yeah. Something like that sounds so crazy it just might work. Maybe. o__o;
