Well I myself haven't yet encountered a Shoebafun, but this is because of not having a gamepad yet...
I do agree that if they pop up any/everywhere it can get annoying but hey, that's the life of a Digger! Reaverbots are annoying, and scary too!

...you get get free easily by jiggling the D-Pad/Analog Stick and buttons a bit... What happens when your running low on life and are avoiding possible confrontations? I have died at least once but getting snagged at the worst possible time. Well I myself haven't yet encountered a Shoebafun, but this is because of not having a gamepad yet... It may have been our habit but, have you tried walking dead center on hallways (exception: Saul Kada ruins on the trip back to the now unlocked door had them nearer to the walls)?

Always remember to fill it up before you go underground, it will probably end up saving your life multiple times. Personally, I hated these things. The first time I ever saw one I panicked and didn't know what to do so I died. They still freak me out when they popup, but I know how to get out of them now. The one ruin I was only ever really scared of was the Clozer Woods subgate, and that was because of the music and ambience in it. I mean, the music was creepy enough without having to add the wind moaning in there too. And all the holes in the floors. Yeah, it took me almost a year to work up the courage to finally get through the whole ruin. But then again I was only 8 so..

Since we're on the subject of traps and having the stuffing scared out of us, how bout that lovely first hanmaru doll dual-arm rampage (and tower encounter) we all experienced in MML?
*raises hand* I once thought that the first hanmaru doll (in the tower) was difficult. ...Don't laugh >.>
and- on the rampage encounter, I didn't play for a good year. That was a big enough scare for an 8 year old. ;D
and back on topic
I think the shoebafuns are terribly annoying as well. I've been caught in them so many times, it's just not funny anymore. :11:
and i'm SORRY i'm so OCD about symmetry while in the ruins! I promise I can do better! *steps to the left* >.>

Telll me about it! once ventured on VH to saul kada ruins didnt have cantteen or good armor at all since i was bit low on zenny side and needed it for upgrades, so there i was on hallway just barely alive this sauna monster strikes from floor ofc i fail to dodge and then there came one of those fast moving reaverbots only to found from saul (holy dang i dont remember anything anymore >.<) and BAM dead That hanmaru doll was freaking terrifying! They should have put like 4 of em' in the sub-cities. !! another awesome memory when playing Legends 1 on first times there was that square room in some "sub ruin" started to wonder what the hell keeps making that weird BOOM noise cheked a bit to left... run for your LIFE ;D aah good times. they really gotta bring that back to legends 3 maybe with some upgrades
