Kind of mixed news, the new heroine is apparently as important as Roll or Tron. (I'm leaning toward that being bad news) You can expect a Monster Hunter influence. (I have no idea — I hear these games are great) There will be some kind of use of the touch screen. I was going to respond to your Monster Hunter queries but I forgot. I've never actually played the game myself but I've seen my friend play them. They are multi-player focused loot games. You go around and Hunt a variety of different monters and you collect their pelt or husk when you defeat them, and use these to make new better weapons to fight bigger/stronger monsters. The multi-player focus comes in because there are specific monster that are huge and have alot of HP so the only realistic way for you to defeat them is to team up with other players. It's huge in Japan but it hasn't been able to get a lot of traction in the states. Some attribute this to the fact that people congregate better in Japanese society and culture. They have to take long train rides to get to and from work/school and some spend this idle time playing popular handhelds. Americans prefer faceless multi-player through the internet... probably because you don't have to organize a party to play a game, with our popular multi-player games you just log in and connect to who ever is playing. This could possible turn out well for MML3. First of all Monster Hunter is huge over there and MH clones apparently do pretty well. So if people buy it, and get together to play it, it could cause a snowball effect through word of mouth and hopefully sell really well. Also, the concept of Monster Hunter fits pretty well into the MML lore. You can explore certain Ruins and beat certain reaverbots on your own, but some epic scenarios will require you to team up with other diggers and split the spoils. There's no guarantee that MML3 will have these aspects in it, even if MH team members do work on it. They could of been assigned to the project to help out with general stuff but who knows... it might be cool. Especially if it doesn't interfere with the story line, MH story is pretty weak so I hope MML3 doesn't end up exactly like MH. I think it would be awesome if it lifts some concepts and makes a separate mode.

Whatever Monster Hunter influence there is it doesn't sound like it's going to be anything huge. I'm not worried about how it will impact the game one bit. It sounds like they're just giving a nod here or there to the series. Although co-operative digging sounds like it would be amazing. I'm not really holding out hope for much more than a good single-player mode, though. (Then again, if anything I've learned to expect the unexpected these days, huh? xD) They have to take long train rides to get to and from work/school and some spend this idle time playing popular handhelds. Hey, that's what I do. Americans prefer faceless multi-player through the internet... probably because you don't have to organize a party to play a game, with our popular multi-player games you just log in and connect to who ever is playing. I miss the days of going over to my buddy's house and playing SEGA or something. <3 Although faceless online multiplayer would be cool too. Could you imagine? We could be playing this game with each other! We could get all of MMLS in on it. Could be a little wild but interesting..

The main thing that jumped off the page at me is that they're considering actually letting the fans write the plot. Literally. Not talking about a poll. And the plot they're thinking will be in episodes that the fans themselves can write and send in. I just don't get it. The fans shouldn't go anywhere near the story. Period. Not even by means of a poll. (EDIT: OK. Watched this part of the interview, and it doesn't sound quite as bad as Protodude's made it sound. x.x It doesn't sound nearly as big. Just ideas and such. I've got to stop jumping the gun here..) Goddammit! This is the very thing that the fan input thing worried me the most about! This is Inafune's/MML dev team's creation. They knows the story better than anyone, so they should be the only people writing it! But like others said, I won't mind if the fans are only being used to write side-stories. I can imagine laughing my butt off watching funny scenes like the ones in the RockMan DASH 4-koma manga. On the other hand, I do like the sound of the Monster Hunter team helping out with the development. While I don't really like the series itself (Controls are way too cumbersome and chasing after the target monster is a chore), I do like the idea of bringing its concept to Legends 3.

Don't worry, RockBuster- remember that they said they were only 'considering' it, and then only for 'episodes'. It's possible that it'll only be for short scenarios, or even not at all if they decide not to pursue that decision.
