Hope everyone had a happy Halloween, and I'm glad Slaymoor was a bit of a hit. Not sure I can pick a favorite costume. Barrelzilla was a cool surprise, and the Angry Shopkeeper gave me a chuckle every time I saw her. All in all I think it was definitely the most creative set of costumes these forums have seen. I'm gonna leave my avatar and sig on display here for reference in case anyone comes around visiting old threads someday and wonders what the costumes actually looked like. Anyone with anything custom made may want to do the same.

I'd definitely have to cast a vote for the Abusive Shopkeeper. That one never got old!

I'm gonna take a cue from fAB (again) and post mine here, so it will be easier to remember in the future. “Ten years in space only made him more hungry for human flesh!” | “Game Over? I don't think so. Forget it!” |
I kind of wish we'd done this in previous years..

My favourite was Zombie Volnutt. Not only does it go well with the Halloween theme and Legends 3 announcement, the font reminded me of game-overs and frightening music from the game. Ah, memories... It feels like only 4 years ago, but for me, it was really 2 years... Great job, Pitch! In case anyone's wondering, I was Barrellzilla from fab's Alternate Trigger comic, with the generic signature "ROAAAR!" And like I asked last year, did anybody dress up for real? I almost dressed up as Wily or this guy, but ended up dressing as Senbei Norimaki, in an obvious reference no one will get to my unimaginative forum costume last year that makes me understand Dashe. At least I brought a business card with his adress, the official Dr. Slump website, and offers for robots, time travel, fortune, haircuts and hot dates. One person thought I was an old singer called Gino Vanilli, due to my choice of wig. I guess that's cool... Vanilla is nice, and who doesn't love Geno...? On a completely unrelated note, I saw a guy at my high school dressed up as a present, with the label "To:Women From:God" It made my day.

I'm keeping my avatar for a while, because Isis is just that awesome.
But yeah, even the holidays must end. It's as Danny Elfman once sang:
So celebrate while you still can 'Cause any second it may end And when it's all been said and done Better that you had some fun Instead of hiding in a shell Why make your life a living hell So have a toast, and down the cup And drink to bones that turn to dust ('cause) . . . No one, no one, no one, no one No one, no one, no one, no one No one, no one, no one, no one No one lives forever! (Hey!)

I didn't plan on dressing up at all IRL, but it happened anyway. I was supposed to be standing out in my grandparents' front yard handing out candy in my street clothes, but with all the kids (and teenagers, and parents, and some grandparents) walking around dressed up, I started to feel very out of place. So once I hit a decent lull in the activities, I raced to the garage to see if I couldn't make like a Point-N-Click adventure protagonist and McGuyver myself a costume before they came back. I am eternally grateful I wear turtlenecks and knee-high socks on a regular basis, as they certainly came in handy. Inside the garage, I found the following items: - Ancient 60's American Football Helmet: The mouth cage is missing, but nothing says "I've been royally smashed and trampled in a lot of American Football matches" like an ill-fitting helmet that's more than twice your age.
- Semi-Ancient 80's Shoulder Pads: Perfect for taking hits and keeping you from fitting through narrow doors.
- Black Electrical Tape: The oldest roll of electrical tape you've seen in your life. So old it needs to be cut with scissors. You're convinced it's older than the helmet.
- Brand New American Football Jersey: Sure, everything else in the garage is old, dusty, and broken-in...but this massive jersey is still factory sealed. Huh.
- Garden Shears: Great for cutting things and deactivating time bombs.
- Partially inflated American Football: Even when it was fully inflated, it still wasn't very useful.
I combined them to create the Impromptu American Football Player Costume! Now I could finally eat hand out all that chocolate in style. "Errrr...what am I supposed to do with this again?More proof I have no business playing any kind of sports whatsoever. Of course, as the night wore on, I started to get bored, so I returned to the garage, grabbed an Empty Chlorine Tab Bucket and went Trick-or-Treating. The haul was pretty lousy, actually, but the reception was decent because I looked like I was playing for the local high school. At least from the waist up.

Archiving my Halloween identity why not: Cut from this, and with "Snaaaake!?" linking to the Mechanical Maniacs as the sig. It wasn't much, but it was my first Halloween here so I didn't have much to build on. Well, it wasn't the first time I did something special for Halloween on a forum. Back in 2004 when Skullman.exe was one of my main alternate personas, I started October with this avatar: Pleasant, though somewhat disturbing. Last week of the month I switched to this one with no warning: Lovely, isn't it? Got a lot of good freaked-out comments from people for both avatars, actually. I recall people thought the second one was awesome and the first one was scary, so I may have done the whole thing in the wrong order. I was ambitious enough to make new avatars and sig images every couple months back then. I miss not being so lazy.

@miss Dashe Gotta love the fact that you're sporting your Pokéwalker too. xD Man, I bet football players would get a lot of Watts.. you know, if the Pokéwalker survives. Raijin Love the Skullmans. (He's one of my favorite Navis from way back when, actually) That's a neat idea, switching it up toward the end. I've gotta keep that in mind for next year. EDIT: Oh, didn't notice this before. Aw thanks, snowman! I wish I could say I came up with the idea because of Legends 3, but I had the idea before we ever got the actual announcement. The fact that it fit so well was purely coincidental. And the font is just good old Impact. I forget what the other font is... Might be Arial Black? Maybe... Oh well. Thanks, though. =) Oh, and I didn't actually dress up this year. I usually don't, so it's nothing surprising. I wish I'd had more of a phun Hallow’en, but I mostly just sat around the house, rocking out to some slightly Hallowe’en-themed music and such. It was kind of nice actually. And yeah... I know it's only been a day, but I love being back in my original original username. It feels so good seeing it on my posts again. Makes me smile every time I see it. Just thought I'd let you all know.

(GSG just noticed these, and feels proud. And also lazy for not doing anything cool in Photoshop.) Nice idea preserving costumes for prosperity. There were some great ones this year. I'm still getting used to not seeing Zombie Volnutts all over the place.

Yeah, this year's costumes were some of the best I've ever seen on this forum! I just wish I was here during the last week of Halloween to see the changes some people made to their costumes, most specifically Dashe's. My vote's for Rockbuster's Zombie Totoro, though. I got quite a laugh out of that one. XD Heh, I'm glad some of you enjoyed the "My Zombie Totoro" costume. ;D I'm usually really bad at coming up with a good one. For some reason I can't find the actual avatar I used, so I'll just link the original image. I raced to the garage to see if I couldn't make like a Point-N-Click adventure protagonist and McGuyver myself a costume before they came back. I am eternally grateful I wear turtlenecks and knee-high socks on a regular basis, as they certainly came in handy. I combined them to create the Impromptu American Football Player Costume! Now I could finally eat hand out all that chocolate in style. So you Dead Rising 2'd yourself a costume! Sweet! As for my real costume, I was supposed to be a Gallian Militia Squad 7 recruit from Valkyria Chronicles, but the costume came in the day after Halloween. :01: I was totally bummed because I got that Mauser Kar 98k rifle for that costume too (and to play around with in possible airsoft matches). So on the actual Halloween day, I put together stuff I found in my closet to make myself a detective (photo is of me alongside my friend dressed up as the Mad Hatter).

For posterity. Halloween was pretty great this year. Slaymoor was probably my favorite of the bunch, though Zombie Voulnutt takes a close second. Loved Keiji Inafune also. I didn't dress up IRL. I don't really get into trick-or-treating and stuff like I used to, so I ended up spending the evening at a local theater watching Inception. Good movie.
