Hey everyone, I'm letting you all know that I will be gone on vacation from tomorrow until the middle of October. This comes at an inconvenient time in many of ways, but that can't be helped. Legends Station will be without updates during that time, and the forums will of course be without an Admin. Naturally, Feldinaut is still on the job as our marvelous moderator, but I'd like to ask all of you for your help during the next two weeks...
As of late there has been a sudden rush of new members, and with more people talking back and forth, the Forums are getting more chaotic. The SPAM level seems to have risen drastically just within the past week, and more warnings for rule breaking have been issued in recent days than in the Forums' entire 7-month lifespan. It further displeases me to say that it hasn't been only the newcomers causing problems. We are in fact, now looking ahead at who might make the next mod position, as it appears we will be needing one before long.
Now, I don't mean to talk down to all of you. The majority is all fine, and I think the ones causing problems know who they are, and the ones who are causing serious trouble definitely know because they have been warned. But all the same, in light of this I'd like to ask you all to please be more thoughtful as you post in the upcoming weeks. If you need to refresh yourself on the rules, please do so. Feldinaut will be the only one modding while I'm away, but I'll be looking to the members to keep things straight on their own, so that she doesn't get overwhelmed.
Seeing as I keep meaning to revise the rules but haven't yet, I'd like to just put a few additional guidelines here for the time being.
A. Please avoid conversations. The forums are about the community and discussion, not about back and forth talking between two people who happen to be online at the same time. Such things should be carried out through PMs, e-mail, or an instant messaging program. This is not a chat room.
B. It states in the rules that if someone SPAMs, you may tell them of their mistake in your next post, but don't make that the point of your post. Well, from now on, at least during the time I am gone, that rule is to be overruled by this one: If someone SPAMs, ignore it! If you'd like to help out, you can PM Feldinaut with a link to the thread in question, but do not respond to or post in regards to SPAM, or you will receive a warning yourself.
That is all for now. I bid you all farewell and shall miss this place while I'm away. After this post I'm sure most of you won't miss me, but that's to be expected.
