I finished TMoTB again (for the second time) and i'm still asking myself: Why does this game has to have such a poor replay value? I want to believe that this game has various ways of beating it but the truth is that i find it awfully linear. I tried, once again, to gather a bunch of Zenny in the ruins to cover up for the "interest on your interest" in hope to find Loathe's generic plot extravaganza but nothing happened, is there ANYTHING i haven't done in-game? (no cheats)

Did you unlock the casino? I haven't done it yet, personally, but I hear it's pretty cool.
The game is awfully linear though. Usually what I do when I start this game up again is try and get every item and every weapon, max out my servbots and stuff like that. But the problem with that is that in the time you've done all that stuff you could've beaten the game ten times over, so it's a little pointless...

I just figured it out, get it for your computer with an emulator. Then check out the cheats and see if anyone has made any mods for it.

It's extremely highly unlikely that anyone has made mods for a ps1 ROM, people rarely make mods for normal PC games. Only certain games that come with developer tools get modded well.

yeah but you still have the cheats. Also it's surprisingly simple to make many games more difficult with little work, despite the crapiness of the mods for them.

Don't you mean easier? Cheats make a game easier, allowing you to gain unlockables, like a hidden level, with no effort whatsoever. Just put the code in and presto! Personally, I'm not that fond of cheating. It takes away from the experience. If the game is pathetic and the goal insurmountable I will cheat, just to get it over with. But MoTB is worth playing to get the added benefits, so I suggest not cheating.
Besides, he said "(no cheats)".
Knowing what to do on the otherhand, is a vastly different story. Hints and things that tell you what the secret item is and how to achieve them are not cheating because you still have to do it. Some might argue otherwise but whatever. So I would suggest you look it up or ask around for more things to do. Which is pretty much what you are doing now. *shuts up*

a cheat either makes something more interesting or just makes it easier to play (or both) it's the mods that can actually increase the challenge but like you said there probably aren't any.

I must confess that I have never played this game full through yet. I have the ROM on my laptop but for some reason everytime I press the "Start" button the video output freezes, I've tried downloading a different copy of the ROM but that didn't solve the problem; so I don't know what to do

Someone tried to help me before, but I don't remember the thread it was in, and I haven't been able to find help elsewhere with it. Also stinks that that $15 copy on ebay went up to $29 before the end of the auction, or else I would have bought it (I would have bought it anyways, except I've been spending too much money lately).

Apparently it is literally impossible to play the game on the ePSXe, its just the way the game was made apparently. However I heard that it work on the Xebra emulator.

Nothing in emulation is possible... and I know that it can be done on ePSXe. But I just don't know how.

I have gotten MotB to work on ePSXe. Just takes the right combinations of plugins. And patience.

I haven't been able to get ePSXe to work with any combination of plugins and settings, but Xebra seems to work fine in both Windows and Linux (Wine), so I'm not about to start complaining.

I've sent someone a pm as well as posted the combination of epsxe plugins that work for MoTB somewhere in this forum and if they didn't work (they did for me), well just say so. And PS1 Mods, what about this? castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Castlevania_SOTN:_Hacked (WIP, but looks promising) On the subject at hand, has anyone collected all the color schemes for the Gustaff and/or unlocked each servbot's special skill (or maxed out each servbot's stats).

On the subject at hand, has anyone collected all the color schemes for the Gustaff and/or unlocked each servbot's special skill (or maxed out each servbot's stats). I do, i´ve finished the game twice, the first one i collected all the colors, and upgrading Gustaff´s armor at max, i noticed that you can win zenny very easilly, you don´t get too much time to get the Z2,000,000. that´s why you can spend lots of money in upgrades, it´s all right but it will be better more challenge, oh, and Colossus was very easy to defeat. The second time i tried to upgrade all the servbots, but i found it some boring and nonesens, since you don´t need all the servbots to beat the final boss, so i just concentred in someones, leaving the others "slotting" to punish them (i have to addmit it´s fun :
