XKCD is pretty hard-core nerd humor. Sometimes I think Randall Munroe takes it a bit too far, but it's usually pretty good. Make sure you read the mouse-over text: in the earlier comics it explains the jokes somewhat, and in the more recent ones it's part of the actual joke — sometimes it's half the punch-line right there. For the Super Nerds out there, there's this xkcd unix-imitation interface, too. I had a lot of phun messing around with that, trying different commands and such... Of course, if you don't get a joke, there's nothing stopping you from looking it up too. I've learned many things in the process of trying to understand xkcd. Many things.

Blues you beautiful man! Me and my friend looked up Darths and Droids in class yesterday and it was FANTASTIC! Thank you for the recommendation! @avenuegodro, my friend(same one as above) keeps telling me to look at Romantically Apocalyptic. I'll be sure to check it out.

My favorites right now have to be listed like a list, so here goes. Penny ArcadeThe Ur Example of a good gaming comic. Started out the same way it's always been, two guys on a couch playing video games. Over the years, Mike and Jerry have made the job of writing and drawing Penny Arcade on a usual basis WORK (for individual people doing the writing and drawing). The art's amazing, the humor's well-done, and there's absolutely NO reason you shouldn't read Penny Arcade. Unless you're a CAD fan. Then you can keep sucking B^Uckley's teats for all I care. The Adventures of Dr. McNinjaAn absolutely amazing webcomic written by Christopher Hastings, and penned by Anthony 'Nedroid' Clark. Suffice to say, it's a comic about a doctor named Dr. McNinja. He's an Irishman who's a doctor, who's also a ninja. He lives in Cumberland, MD, and works alongside a gorilla receptionist named Judy, his own family of ninja including his mother, father, and brother, a young Mexican bandito named Gordito who grew a mustache through SHEER FORCE OF WILL and rides a velociraptor named Yoshi, Ben Franklin's clone... he lives in a world where everything works like a Mortal Kombat stage. Read it now. RatfistA comic written and drawn by Doug TenNapel, the man behind Earthworm Jim. It's about a masked vigilante named Ratfist who becomes a half-man, half-rat mutant, and how he goes around both coping with this new development and how he fights crime. Ansem RetortEssentially, the Metalocalypse of sprite comics and the Highlander of reality TV. It's about a reality show starring the cast of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Axel is an evil Buddhist god, Larxene's a druggie who talks to a skull, Zexion is a doctor who is also the Governor of Pennsylvania, Marluxia's gay and a member of the Crips, Sora's literally retarded (though to a point where he occasionally forgets he's retarded), and it's essentially offensive in some way, shape, form, or concept to everyone. And counting. But the offensiveness is the hilarious part. It's Comedic Sociopathy at its finest. MS Paint AdventuresYou knew someone'd link it. Take the Choose Your Own Adventure concept and apply it to art done in MS Paint (though actually done in Photoshop, but nobody cares), and you've got MSPA. It's currently on Homestuck, the newest of the seasons, and the last season was Problem Sleuth. Go read it now, 'tis amazing. I also read XKCD as well (though I stick to the UNIXKCD interface because it's awesome). It's deep geek humor. You really need to have some experience with math, physics, and other operating systems like UNIX, Linux, and the like to understand it.

My friend (same as above) also reads Brawl in The Family. I don't think it's funny but he always has me reading from the middle of a storyline, so I might would like it from the start.

Been a while since my last post here, but Lackadaisy still ranks pretty high up there with me. Still enjoy the writing and the art. Sinfest was something I found more recently and have gotten to like. Jokes involve religion, sex, politics, pop culture, and human nature in general, in various combinations. Fairly heartwarming at times too. The oldest stuff and the most recent stuff is kinda dry imo.. My favorites were probably all in the stretch from 2006-2008 (it's been an almost-daily comic since like 2000, so there's a lot there). I find xkcd to be kind of hit or miss at times, but it's still one of my favorites and I agree it's definitely worth an archive binge. The not-geeky humor is just as good, for those not much into technology. I remember Romantically Apocalyptic being pretty good as well, but it wasn't that far along when I first read it and I haven't touched it since. So I can't say much now.

Penny ArcadeReason? It's quite simple. They actually update their webcomic constantly. Also, there is some sort of character development. It's a slow character development, but it's noticeable over the years. This character development has even been present in comics that are based in videogames. There are a lot of these because these guys are major gamers. They either do comics of the games or from their experience. It's not all just videogame comics. They also make comics about their characters and other stuff that's happening in their personal lives and in the world. (Like the release of the iPhone 4. What arrived to the store? A box with a single iPhone 4 and a gun.) They have also helped with charity, which is good on my books.

My top three favorite webcomics are... (Not necessarily in order.) Dr. McNinja: An amazing and surreal adventure that somehow manages to always play itself straight no matter how crazy it gets. With plenty of callbacks and continuity to boot! Dragon Tails: No, not the PBS Kids show. A cute and funny story surrounding the adventuers of a family of young dragon siblings and their adventures in the 20th century. It has robots, psychotic squirrels, and more than 2000 comics archived! Sadly, it's been on indefinite hiatus since early 2010. Still, it's definitely worth an archive binge when you have the chance. MSPaint Masterpieces: Okay, take a comic based off of Bob and George. Got that? Now make it undergo a significant plot upheaval so that it's no longer random humor based solely off of dysfunctional characters. Still with me? Now give it amazing, inspirational pixel art, and you have this wonderful comic. Megaman 1 and 2 have never been this awesome.

www.happletea.com This comic plays with a lot of mythology and world events as the basis of many comics. I also really enjoy the art style, and the blog posts that go with each comic. One day I plan to make a zipper as big at Lil' K. I also read penny arcade and Dr. Mcninja consistently, as well as the occasional stint on dinosaur comics. (there's only so much T-rex I can handle though)

Why have I not seen this before? Clearly, my favorite webcomic is Homestuck.

My two favourite webcomics would have to be Super Effective, Sea3on and Homestuck.
