Okay, after checking the threads all the way back to June, 2005, I'd say it's safe to post this thread to compliment the Anime thread.
This is the thread where you can list off your favorite Mangas and Comics. We'll take it from Inu-Yasha to Sandman. DC, Tokyopop, Marvel, Viz, whatever.
I have a long list of favorites, but I'll try to be gentle. I'm more a Manga fan than an American comic fan, and it shows.
Ah! My Goddess! Angelic Layer Aria/Aqua (I command all of you to read it!) Cardcaptor Sakura Chobits Girl got Game Girls Bravo Gundam: The Origin (The one-year war era) Hunter X Hunter Karin (Known as Chibi Vampire in the US. Stupid Tokyopop...) Keroro Gunso (I just can't get "Sgt. Frog" out of my mouth anymore!) Love Hina Negima Ranma 1/2 School Rumble To Heart (Ukyou's version and Doujinshi) UFO Princess Walkure Zoids: Chaotic Century
Out of those, I'd say people should read Aria, Girl Got Game, and To Heart. (Please do. They're awesome!)

There are only two that I can really call my favourites: FLCL - Hajime Ueda Excel Saga - Koshi Rikdo They are both incredible in completely different ways, so I couldn't prefer one over the other. However, I haven't read the whole Excel Saga series, so hopefully the next few books will impress me so much that it earns first place in my list... ...I have very high standards, as you can see. *Cough*.

Sgt. Frog is okay at the first through third books, since they are pretty funny with anime and manga references like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam, and Robotech(Notice that they're all robot mangas). But later on, it gets a little to serious looking and perverted. But the anime is great since the creaters have time to make better stories and can't put perverted things on it. MegaMan NT Warrior is a fun manga. Sure, it may have the dorky names and curses like Cyber Sword or "dang blang"( ), yet it's very accurate, has a good storyline that isn't repetative, and has a lot of action. I guess Mega Tokyo would be considered a manga. It's pretty funny in the first volume, but after, it gets a little more serious and manga styled. Kindaichi Case Files are really good. Everytime I read one, I get hooked, wondering what's going to happen next. If you like mystery, then this is the perfect manga for you! Azumanga Daioh is a hillarious manga! Even though it's about funny high school girls, most of the comedy is pretty much for everyone. It has a lot of random moments thanks to Osaka, a dimwitted girl. There are some others like .Hack //Legend of the Twilight(Is this how I write it?) and Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I only have the first volumes of them.

Rurouni Kenshin is my favorite manga, that much is certain. It's funny, has good art, good action, and wound up being worth the 28 volume ride.
As for comics, the only stuff I have ever really collected was from Archie, whether it was TMNT Adventures as a little kid, Sonic up to my early teenage years, or Mega Man today.

I've pretty much grown up on Manga, so I have a lot of favorites.
Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Tenchi Muyo, BASTARD!, Ninja Girls, Inuyasha, Ikki Tousen, Detective Conan, and lastly Lupin The Third.
Honestly, I don't think I can pic a favorite between these series. I like mainly Manga and Anime from '85 to '02. I like the non-homogenized hand-drawn art style, the actually funny comedy, the hot women, the hardcore action, and the overall sense of originality with most of the titles. I just can't get into most Manga of today, because it's pretty much the same emo cutter stuff for men, and hyper sugary stuff for women with the same Sharpie marker looking One Piece or Bleach style of character design. Vintage 90's Manga is where it's at for me.

Manga is usually not my thing, especially if it isn't Megaman-related XD
But I do have my favourites... YES BESIDES ROCKMAN MANGA
Iris Zero Claymore Air Gear Gantz Infinite Stratos ...
I guess I need to expand my list someday... it's very hard to find a manga with a theme of which I may like.

Right now, I have a very short list, as I don't really follow manga and comics faithfully.

Not sure what the "Thread Necro" cut-off date is...But here we go. *Opens Necronomicon* I don't read as much manga as I'd like to, and I haven't read comics in years, but here's the manga I've read/am reading and enjoyed: 1. Yotsuba&! 2. BLAME! 3. I Am a Hero 4. Uzumaki 5. Gyo 6. Tomie 7. Dragon Ball Junji Ito (if you hadn't noticed) is probably my favourite mangaka. EDIT: Been reading "Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!" (It's Not My Fault I'm Not Popular!), and I'm both in love with the manga and the main character.

As fond as I am of comics and manga, I usually just read webcomics to get my fill. My favorites I own, though; Scott Pilgrim is my ultimate favorite right now, followed closely by Transmetropolitan. Come to think of it, I don't have all the trade paperbacks of Transmet yet... I'll have to fix that soon.

I have a fond likeness for Japanese comics, and a few others. Lets see what I can name here as notable favorites:
-Rockman X5 (Chinese manga, ive only read the first volume in english, 2nd one had no translation but its very good) -Rockman Zero (Ok, so this one is very infamous for its first and a half volumes...but the 2nd Zero that appears later is more comical, and isn't as bad.) -Megaman Megamix (Pretty obvious to itself) -Irregular Hunter Rockman X (Only read some of Volume 1, most of the rest I figured out plot wise. I actually liked it more than the highly Popular Rockman x1-4 mangas) -Rockman & Forte (Favorite rendition of Forte, enough said)
Non Rockman:
-Dragon Ball -Parasyte -Akira -Yu-Gi-Oh! (Early volumes, before the card games gimmick were spammed) -One Piece -Fleetway Sonic the Comic (Personally loved this more than Archie Sonic, Back when I was in the Sonic Fandom)
Also....I found out that the same person who did the Chinese Rockman X5 manga also made this! Im really wondering what it's like, if its as good as his X5 comic.

I can't forget to include Archie's Mega Man on the list. Man, that stuff is great. Also "Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad".
