Well I was going to say post a link so we can read it and give you a good answer and not vague guessings, but I remembered I read it a while ago... First off, I don't know what you were smoking when you decided that it "sucked big time @$$," but OMG. No. Something like THIS www.fanfiction.net/s/2068403/1/fits that description much better. To that author I would advise never writing again. GOSH that story is awful. Your fic, on the other hand, I really didn't see anything OH NOES AWFUL about. It wasn't a pain to read, it presented original ideas... Yeah, the pacing was pretty quick but that's fairly easily fixed by just fleshing out your writing. As for whether or not to continue, I'm sure you foresaw this, but that's up to you. If you enjoyed writing it and have a desire to write more, then by all means, continue. Even if you're not the best writer, nobody sane reads fanfiction expecting to be blown away. Anyone who does is kidding himself. Critiquing is just there if you want to take it. Half of those people on FF.net have no credit whatsoever to be dishing out advice upon. (I am probably one of those. >_>) It just depends on your goal as a writer. Do you write for yourself? For the entertainment of your audience? Because you have a story you have to get out of your head? Make your decision based on that, I'd say. |

Hmm. I DID enjoy writing it. I found the chapters too small and the pacing, fast. But I agree with you, mine isn't nearly as bad as the cliche that I had just read.
Maybe i'll write another chapter, and see what happens. But exams are coming, and I don't have a lot of time on my hands. So, don't expect to see anything for a few weeks. But yeah, I think i'll give it another shot.

And if you're that dissatisfied with the first chapters you did, you could always do a rewrite. Or a revamp. Or whatever the heck you want to call it.

I usually don't think my stuff isn't any good until a few months AFTER I post it online. Then, I think it is alternately crap and the greatest thing ever written. Back and forth, forever.
Anyway, when I was writing that one big story I did (it's on legends-station.com and on fanfiction.net) I decided to purposefully keep the chapters short as to mimic serialization. So there's nothing technically wrong with doing that.

Hey, you know, you really ought to post a link before assuming "nobody gives a rat's ass." You didn't give your username, title of the story... Not everyone is familiar with FF.net. Even I had to dig a little. In fact, I'LL post the link: MegaMan Legends: Legacy of TerraOkay, so I read the new chapter. There was definitely a lot more description this time around. I enjoyed the pace in this chapter a lot better than the others. The plot is still on track and still pretty original. That's a nice breath of fresh air. There were a fair amount of mistakes in your grammar, which I don't really want to nitpick, but watch out for those in the future. Don't really know what else to say. I like the way the story is going, so I'll be looking for the next chapter sometime. |

Very interesting. First I would like to thank Feldinaut for posting a link to that awful, AWFUL Fanfic. I read the first sentance and I was a laughing fit to burst. Take for instance ...and last but least Gramps. THAT IS ROCKET FUEL! If you're a good writer and you know what to do, you could take a phrase like that and fly to the moon. I.E.: ...And last but least Gramps.
"Megaman!" shouted gramps." Have you been rooting around in my bra collection?"
Megaman's eyes went wide and his breathing stopped.
"You. Have. A..."
"Bra collection? No! Where would you get such an idea?" he said pacing away. "Data! Have you been rooting around in my bra collection?"
Megaman felt the obligatory oversized sweat mark as he tried to keep himself from doing anythign rash... or rational as the case may be...However this poor... well, I don't know what he is, but he's not a writer, he probably just made a typo, and we could forgive him for that, but it just kept getting worse. If you want people to read and like your stuff then the first thing you have to do is make it easy to read. Not grade school, by any means, no oversimplified explinations, no G-Awful grammer. Then work on your style. And any cirtiques anybody is kind enough to give you without laughing at you, take it like heart medication. Always! That doesn't mean rethink your life, but when somebody you've handed a manuscript to reads through it and starts piling on the compliments through sheepish smiles you're either going back to the drawing board or to Pubish America, and might I suggest you all check out PublishAmericasucks.com before you do that. You reminded me of something Aaron, I have a couple of things fit in that love OR hate category. There was this one story I wrote called Ghostella, that was an eight page short story. I loved writing it, but when I went through it sometime later I was agast. Just. Not. Right. Truly this was a peice of crap that was so saturated I had to be breaking a health ordinance. But I still liked the last page, and the general storyline, so someday I'll probably re-write it, but at the time it was a major lesson as a writer. I had more fun writing that book than any other project I can think of, except maybe the noir drabble, (that was crazy) but it still ended up in the 'do not show to anyone' pile. And that's usually for stuff that gets too preachy or melodramatic, like this  Curse, I have to get back to my fans at FF.net... Both of them  . |

Yeah, I thought so.... with lines like THIS..... "WHAT, HE'S BACK; MEGAMAN IS BACK." Said Glyde as he jump up and looks out the window.
"So you return Megaman I would like to say welcome back and it's my gratitude to give you a welcome gift. Robot drones attack Megaman." Glyde said on the COM link.
"Aw you shouldn't have; and thank you for giving me these gifts. It's only fair I should give you a gift back and here it is." I said as I'm destroying Glyde robotic drones.
As I move swift and fast there is robot destroying the city hall and I jump it the sky using cyber hand strike to destroy the robots. As I move light speed against Glyde robots using sonic slash with one big slash and all the sudden all of his robots even the strongest robots were destroyed.
"WHAT HOW CAN THIS BE, IT IS IMPOSIBALE; HOW CAN HE DISTROY ALL MY ROBOTS IN JUST FIVE SECONDS?" Said Glyde angry.
"Oh come on Glyde do any robots that can fight for at least five minutes, I didn't beak a sweat on this fight." I said as I look at Glyde on his ship.
"Oh this isn't over yet for you see there are more than only one army of robots, there are plenty of Robots than the ones you just destroyed in Downtown are in other cities." "Oh you mean the one in Uptown and the old city I got rid of those when I was fighting these robots."
"THIS CAN'T BE MY PLAN IS RUINED, I'LL GET YOU MEGAMAN I SWEAR I'LL HAVE MY REVENGE!" Glyde said as his ship left the city. |

First of all I didn't even get that far, but what surprises me is that that was all fluid. I thought you had cut and pasted from all over the fic but NO! You only deleted a line or two out of that whole speil. And might I say the writer is delusional. Feldinaut asks, 'Is english your first language,' and he/she/it reply's, 'yes it's some of my best work.' Time to trade that dictionary in for a good slap upside the head!
As for my endeavors with FF.Net, don't bother looking me up, if I ever post a legends fic then I'll get the word out, but unless you know what sPri is I'm not about to tell anyone on this fourm. Maybe the We may be Cra-Z, but compared to the to most people @.@... ANIME SECTION board, but not around good people like y'all.
