Yes, it's true, I really did it! Just what did I do, you ask? Well at last, I think I have created a piece of artwork that is worthy of the Legends series. Oh sure, I have many failed attempts in the past that are "good enough", but they are merely the Draches, the Marlwolfs, and the Balcon Geralds of my Legends artisticness. Now I truly feel I have created my Bruno, or to put it simply, my masterpiece! You're welcome to try and stop it, but you won't stand a chance this time!*grabs a slice of Teisel's pizza* So anyway, to get on with the point... Feldi finally gave me an idea of a picture I could do for her as a late birthday present. One piece of official artwork has in its upper-right corner, a tiny Gesellschaft set against the moon. She wanted an elaboration of that concept, and mentioned as well the ideas of hang-gliding and parachuting Servbots. The point of this project of course, was to at last provide her with a Legends wallpaper big enough to fill her massive 1680x1050 monitor! So I went to work, and worked, and worked! It wasn't easy mind you! But for a friend as good as Feldi I gave it my absolute all! 30+ hours later I sat, truly amazed by the results of my efforts. Bragging? No, but I think an artist has the right to be proud of their work when they know they did their absolute best and ended up with a finished product far better than envisioned. For me at least, it's a rare moment. Now that you've read the lengthy intro, I guess you've earned the right to take a gander at said work. . . . now, fab, you're not stealing some official art from Capcom that we don't know about and claiming it as your own, are you? ;D naw, now that's seriously gotta be like the #1, undisputed, best piece of Legends fan art that I've ever seen in my entire life, EVER(till I see some art of Yuna that looks equally stunning ;D). It looks almost TOO good to be fan art. It's better than any of the official art. Geez... how you people make these awesome pictures I will never understand. Awesome. Just awesome.

*dies* That's the best Legends fan art that will ever be made. EVER. I love any picture where you can see the Gesellschaft, so you can imagine that I went crazy like Data when I saw this! It's not just the airship, though. The Servbots are awesome, and so Is the Drache. I also like how you can see Tron, Bon, and Teisel at the top.
Make more great art, fab!

Heck, you know I love it, and it shall be my gigantic desktop image always and forever. Hang glidin' Servbots are an idea Capcom REALLY needs to introduce into the games. I can't begin to fathom why they haven't already. My favorite little technical detail is the one Servbot's parachute. I'm always wondering "How the heck did he pull off that semi-transparency deal...?" Oh, and I also like the eye on the Gesellschaft (which is kind of on the Drache too). That is a really sweet lookin' effect. I don't know how you did it, but it's amazing. It looks like a beady, red fish eye.

Whoa...that thar be some good fanart. I'm none to skilled at drawing, myself. That Gesselshaft is better then the in-game one, and it's so realistic that one of the Servbots might fly out of my monitor.....good jorb.

How in the world did you do the moon/cloud effects? That is amazing. And to think. Capcom has some team of artists and designers working on their official art and they can’t match this. I guess that isn’t their goal, but that’s beside the point. Coloring, detail, personality, this one takes the cake as the best Legends art I’ve ever seen. I was wondering where you got the art for your avatar, and now I know. Truly a piece of work worthy of mention.
And if you don’t mind me asking, what program did you do this in?

Aww, thanks so much you all! It just makes me "pleased as peaches" to hear all of your kind comments. XP All joking aside, I really do appreciate it. Art should be done for the joy of one's self (or Feldi's self in this particular case), but it's always great to know other people are enjoying your work as well. As for direct responses: finalhazard -- I'm not sure who those people are, but they must mean something to you so I'm glad to be held in such high regard. XD Servbot42 -- You are indeed the ultimate Gesellschaft fanboy! Haha! Um, I am excited about doing more Legends art now that I've accomplished this piece, but it'll probably be awhile before I manage it. Here's a semi-Legends picture I did recently though, for the PMM art contest. sneaselplushie.legends-station.com/image.php?pic=megaman/pmmcontest1024Feldinaut -- Hehe! I know you love it, naturally. ^__^ I was particularly pleased with the parachute transparency, too. Took a number of layers carefully colored and stacked to get it to look right. Terrius Chroniclius -- Be sure to let us know if and when it happens! mltmlt22 -- Well, the moon was pretty simple. Just needed to get the coloration right and then apply an outerglow and mess with it till it looked right. As for the clouds, I guess you could say I cheated. XP I've gotten into the habit making cloudy sky backdrops out of real life digi-cam photos I take. But truly, I go through so much editing, adjustments to the brightness and contrast, color balance, you name it, and apply so many filters that you'd never recognize the original! As for program, I like to use a combination for the best results. I used Corel Dream 3D to make some rough models of the Gesellshcaft and Drache (already had the Servbots of course). I then used the 3D rendered images as my guidelines for getting truely accurate views of the dynamic angles for this picture. The line art was done in Corel Draw 7, and then exported to Adobe PhotoShop 7 where I do all my coloring, shading and anything else the image needs. Thanks again everyone!

JMC47 -- Yes indeed, the Bonnes are watching the fun from above. A nice touch I thought, and one I almost forgot to add as I was finishing up the picture. >_< Shelldragon -- Thanks very much! Unfortunately most people at DA don't have a clue what MML is, otherwise you could have seen it there. Mandinga -- Not quite what you're saying. Maybe this was more of an explanation that was needed, but since a lot of people seem baffled by how I do my art, here's a better example: www.legends-station.com/forum/6panels.jpg1. The 3D model. In most of my pictures, this would be a hand-drawn sketch instead. 2. The 3D model screencaptured, pasted into Corel Draw, and lightened. It's used as a guide for my line art. 3. Line art finished, 3D guide deleted, exported from Corel Draw as a BMP. 4. Line art in PhotoShop with base coloring. 5. PhotoShop still, with multiple layers of shading. 6. Finished product inserted into proper background. The Keet -- Thanks, everyone seems to adore the parachute! It was kind of a pain to get it right so I almost didn't bother. Glad I did though. I'm always glad in the end when I sweat the details. I'd never worked on an image this humongous before, it was definitely a new experience in making sure everything looked right at such a large size.
