Yet another face of the DASH team! Reo Uratani is the game's composer, who works on the background music. Uratani feels it's important to make the distinction that Uratani works on the BGM music and not the sound effects, which is apparently handled by separate people. As with most of these introduction blogs you can find a nice description of Uratani's job, and very little in the way of actual news, but still it's nice. Uratani would like to know what your favorite songs from Legends are; Uratani seems to have a few picks there, but they're rather common ones. I twitched a bit when I saw Flutter Vs. Gesellschaft — as much as I love that song, it's so overdone these days. >.< But yeah, so you can go leave a comment about your favorite songs on that blog. There's also mention of the possibility of having a “sound-related” event in the future, though nothing has been confirmed. Unless Uratani is purposefully being vague. (I should probably tell Shift...) Other important information: The Bonne Mech finalists will be announced on December 10th for both Japan's devroom and the Unity devroom. So be on the look out for that this Friday! (No mention of what the timeframe for the final decision on the #1 Winner will be, but it's presumably a ways off) (p.s., If you noticed I didn't use any pronouns for Uratani, it's because I can't figure out what Uratani's gender is... :06:)

Uratani's a guy. Says so in his profile. I wasn't sure either so I checked. XD Good to see more of the Legends 3 roster!

Nice. I hope he does a good job for the music in Mega Man Legends 3.

This only leaves me wondering why they couldn't get Makoto to do composition again. He is working at another company right now, so they probably kept their puppy eyes on Makoto and prevented the developers from getting him. That said, a new composer is never a bad thing--unless, of course, he can't write game music fitting both inside and outside of its context.

Well, I knew I'd heard the name somewhere, but I wasn't sure, so I googled him. Turns out, he did "some songs" in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Not sure which ones. Then I found out he did the soundtrack for Monster Hunter Tri. I'd been too distracted with other games when it came out, so I never paid too much attention to it. I looked it up on Youtube and found this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbfh9dPAwVkI'd say he'll be able to do a pretty good job making music that'll fit Legends.

That sounds like bliss to me. Some wondrous boss music right there, and he seems to know his stuff. Looking forward to it.

@miss Dashe Wow, really? I would've put my Zenny on this fellow being a girl. Ah well.. @jorsh Wow, you're right. This Monster Hunter stuff sounds pretty solid. Verrrry nice. I'm betting this guy will do a great job on Legends 3's tunes too. Hopefully not exactly like this Monster Hunter stuff, but I definitely like the style. Something similar, but with a litte Legendsification would be amazing.

Pitch, don't you think each new "Meet the next DevTeam member" news relay could be in the same thread? The others didn't get a lot of posts by themselves. I don't get why you keep making new topics for each one.

Raijin I guess they could be all one topic, but I like the multi-topic approach better personally. I don't really see any reason to change it. If they don't all get loads of hits, they don't all get loads of hits; that's not really a big deal. Unless you have some other reason, I think I'm going to keep doing it that way.

Yeah, it's easier to organize a lot of little, focused threads than a few big threads.

@miss Dashe That's exactly why I like it this way, really. We have a lot of threads that run all over the place with a bunch of different topics crammed into one. And after it's all old news, it's impossible to ever find anything in them if you go looking for it. It drives me crazy when that happens. :06: Maybe it's not exactly applicable here, but it's just the philosophy of it that I like.
Anyway, right... When Kinako was introduced it was a bit bigger than when Fujikawa or Ozaki were introduced, and this one was slightly bigger than those two but not quite as big as Kinako's. So I'm really just playing it by ear here. I figured some of these would be bigger stuff and warrant their own topics, but I guess thus far none of it's really been as interesting as the first one. I had no way of knowing that would be the case though. >.<
And err... yeah. I could go into a long explanation of why I did these as individual topics, really. But I won't because that would be off topic.
Speaking of the topic, I've still got to choose some favorite tunes and go post them in the comments over there. I should get on that...

I had to go with "We Are the Bonne Brothers" above all else. It just wouldn't feel right without the Bonnes' signature tune!

Hah. That's the one I was going to go say too. <3 I love that theme.

I have to say I love the "Meeting Room" theme.. even if it's a slower remix of "We are the Bonne Brothers". It gives me nostalgia.. espeically sicne it's played at the ending..
I do expect some actual music in the ruins (something like they did in MML2 and NOT DID in MML.. even if it was awesome it was kinda low.)
Oh and the Blumbebear battle tune is very catchy.. erm.. let's see...
AH How can I forget. There are two areas in MML2 where the music changes due to RANDOM ENCOUNTERS! Calinca and ... forgot the name.. the island where Shu and the twins live. I would be awesome if the tune could change when facing something like a trap or ... eh.. yeah (was abotu to suggest when health is low but realises it's a bad idea)
I wodner if I should suggest more classic music cameos or remixes. The violins, pianos and saxophones seem to somwhat fit into Legends world.
