Let's face it...the ad campaign for the Legends games was pretty awful and ineffective, especially overseas. By the time many fans even knew Legends 2 was out, it was already pretty difficult to find. I was one of the luckier ones who found out about Legends 2 and MoTB while they were still in development, but a bunch of people missed out on getting a copy altogether simply because they didn't know it existed.
With the advent of social networking and the Internet's domination of world communication over the last ten years, Legends 3's already got a considerable advantage over its predecessors. Seriously. A long-awaited game coming out for a groundbreaking handheld and undergoing an experimental development process is bound to turn a few heads...but on the other hand, it's competing with Nintendo's own all-stars, including a 3D version of the very game that eclipsed the first Legends twelve years ago and a sequel to another game that's been anticipated for nearly twice as long as Legends 3.
On that note, it's important to start publicly flying your Legends colors as soon as you can. I can't even begin to tell you how many closeted Legends fans who just didn't think there was anyone else in the world who liked those games I've managed to find just by walking around with printouts of servbots taped to all of my notebooks and casually dropping Mega Man Legends around in conversation. Though, bear in mind, I'm not saying you should go up to your boss in the middle of a meeting and announce, "Your financial strategy for company growth is great, sir, but you neglected to mention Mega Man Legends 3 is coming out on 3DS." Unless you are the boss, you probably won't get away with that one.
It's finally our chance--time to use whatever (non-illegal) methods that we're capable of to help make our series get some serious recognition. Spreading the word can monetarily range from free to whatever it costs to paint your car to look like the Gesellschaft. So toss in as many promotional ideas as you can think of, because it's Legends' time to shine at long, long last!
