So what's it all about? It's a fan game site, based of course entirely on Mega Man Legends. What was once the Mini-Games section of the old Launch the Draches site has now been taken over, upgraded, and added to. This is Sky Pirate Arcade.
This thread is for general comments regarding all aspects of the site and of course, the games themselves.
At present, the lineup of games is:
Complete: Kobun Card Launch the Drache! Sart Farm Stampede
In Progress: Megaman Digger Tuttle's Little 5-Island Adventure Skate Or Cry Trapped Box Rebellion Blumebear's Great Escape
Great work, fab! The two new games are great, by the way.
Also, I got this error while playing Trapped Box Rebellion. I jumped over a Gorubeshu, and when it turned around and shot, it's shots were going in the same direction as before, instead of the way it was facing now. I played again but the error didn't occur. Probably not a big deal and a one time thing, but...
Wow, I disappear for a few days and something else shows up. I'm liking it so far though. Keep it up!
EDIT: Okay, I've played the games. Kobun Card is fun, although some of the cards look a lot alike, which can be annoying. Making a game based on a mimic is interesting, if not a bit creepy. My personal favorite is Skate or Cry, especially that remix you used.

The forums seem pretty dead lately, so I'm especially grateful for your comments you guys.
Musashi: Thanks for pointing that error out, I've come across it before myself. The game is super-duper early in development of course, so it's nothing to worry about at this point. Glad you like the new games!
Mir@k: Yeah, you can PM when the game is done, or earlier if you have an interesting demo you'd like to have put up. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
As for updating, anything new would of course be mentioned on The Main Gate's home page, plus I'd be sure to post about it here. If you want in-depth reviews and stuff of your game(s), I'd suggest starting your own threads on them in the Fan Works when the time comes.
Dragge: I'm very glad to hear you liked the ending! It was definitely fun to make. I guess that means you're the first person besides me to actually beat the game. Well done!
Buster Cannon: I'm not sure what remix you're referring to, but I'm glad you like the site so far. The Mimic, creepy? Hilarious I would have said, the most unlikely of reaverbot heroes! XD
I think Skate Or Cry is gonna be really cool by the time I'm done with it. Glad to know it has a fan. Speaking of which, for those of you who are just checking out the "new" stuff, the Skate Or Cry demo is in fact a much improved one from the original made back in 2005!
The remix I was referring to was the one you used in Skate or Cry. You know, the song from MoTB (still haven't played that game yet). Blumebear Maze Craze is pretty fun too.
The three pieces of music used in Skate or Cry are actually all found in MOTB. I guess if you haven't played it yet you wouldn't know. See tracks 14, 42, and 58 here if you like.
By the way, I came across a pretty serious error in Skate Or Cry. @_@! It was allowing people to submit scores if they should lose all their lives, but not when they complete a level. Fortunately the download counter only says 3 people have grabbed it so far, so if you're 1 of the 3, please download the new corrected file I just now uploaded. Sorry!

I 'm sorry for bumping this up and for using sloppy wording, but I have a few things to mention.
I am loving all of the games and will be playing them all the time.I cant wait to see some more of them.
I was sad after reading about the failed sub-gates/extensions I find it rather amusing that a year or two ago I stumbled upon the MegaMan Legends Extension site/game.
I will be here for as long as this place stays alive, maybe even longer.I wish there was something to draw you in every day when you login,so if anyone wants to start up a project,I am on my computer every day,for most of the day.Unless I go on a road trip, ect. Once I start something I wont quit untill its finished,it will stay my top priority, however I cant say the same thing for everyone else.
I plan to be a computer graphics designer, and programmer.Maybe someday that will come into play with a project for here, maybe not.I can assure you all that im not leaving this wonderfull place anytime soon.
Sloppiest post ever*

Hey guys im back!
Lol...
But seriously, I've started working in Computer Programming class and its been pretty fun learning a bit about the computer the 1st week and the teacher being as awesome as he is, is teaching us for the rest of the year on how to make Computer Games. As I'm designing games I was wondering at what point would the games be accepted here. I know I read the rules on the games and what you can and can't submit (basically no crappy demo's or virus ridden games). I'm wondering what you consider crappy. I know you stated that a bad game engine and sketchy graphics will get your game rejected but what is a bad game engine?
PS: Moviegoer15 once I get a little better in working with programming, Hopefully we could team up. Looking forward.

Well, mybusterbroke, there's no exact definitive. You can look at the demos currently on Sky Pirate Arcade and get an idea of presentable works in progress.
Whenever you get around to the point where you're considering sending something in, you're the best judge on whether or not it's something worthwhile you'll be sending, right? And if a crappy demo gets rejected, it's not as if you only get one chance. One rejection doesn't mean the site won't accept the game later when it's been improved upon.

SPA - Megaman Digger Demo Is Out! « Reply #14 on Dec 7, 2008, 6:28pm »
Greetings, Legends fan-game lovers! Seems like there's a decent amount of fan game development going on in the community lately, quite nice to see. This post is to announce the latest of said developments from Sky Pirate Arcade: a demo of Megaman Digger!
The game was recently introduced over at The Main Gate and has been undergoing pretty rapid development. The demo is small, but I think pretty substantial (and hopefully exciting) in what it shows. You can see the game's page and download it here:
The Classic and X series influence is obvious in this 2D platformer, so much so that until I chose a proper name for it, I was referring to it as Classic X Legends (like Namco X Capcom, if it wasn't already obvious). In addition to what you can see in the demo, here are some of the upcoming features.
- Four paths must be explored, each one unlocking the location of a ruin once cleared. This results in a 9 location grid, in the tradition of the Classic Mega Man series. This also balances out the overworld and underworld exploration which Legends does so well, as the paths will be simpler, outdoor settings and the ruins will be indoor settings with more complex layouts.
- Each of the four ruins will have a tradition boss battle at its end. The bosses will be custom designed reaverbots, based on robot masters from the Classic series.
- The game will contain some musical remixes that will combine a Legends theme with the original theme of the Classic robot master.
I don't want to give everything away so that's it for now. I know a lot of Legends fans don't care for the other Mega Man series out there so I'm really interested to hear what people think of this blend.
